    What did you think of the edit and how I used the gradients to enhance that beautiful back light?

      Loved it. Will for sure use it on my photos. Liked the fact that you opened up the blacks.

      @@MarkDumbleton Honestly, its made such a difference. Watching yours and Simon D'Entremont edits (and a few others), I've learned a lot. I got way behind the curve for many years because I stubbornly refused to upgrade to to the new Adobe CC, and just stuck with old LR4 and Photoshop Elements 10... Good thing I kept so many RAW files from old old 1DX and 5D mkiii...

    Another very educational video. Especially on using the linear and radial gradients. I’ll have to watch it again to take it all in, especially the intersecting bit…yeah, a tricky image to edit. If only you had some presets you could use ! 😉

      Hi Bryan, hehe thanks for the comment 😊 I often find it tough to get colours right when the light is gold, but that’s why experimenting is always good to do.

    Learning a lot from your videos - thank you! I love your artistic vision that guides your Lightroom editing process. I’m curious what artists inspire you, because I feel that your photos are elevated to a form of high art, while retaining realism. I’d love to see you talk about your artistic influences in one of your future videos.

      Thanks so much for watching Kevin, and thanks for the comment. To be honest I will have to think about what artist inspires me because nothing jumps to mind right away. I think there are multiple sources of inspiration but it could make for a nice video.

    I am a beginner at photo editing but one thing that I noticed is that the cat’s feet are sharp but the grass that it is stepping on appears to be soft. Wouldn’t this appear as an obvious edit. Do you think more in focus below and just in front of the cat would be more realistic? That being said I do find this and all of your videos very informative and enjoyable to watch.

    • @MarkDumbleton
      @MarkDumbleton  Před 2 měsíci

      Hi Michael, thanks for the comment and for watching my videos. I didn’t notice a difference as you have shared but I’ll take a look. An area that is on the same plane of focus as the feet should have equal sharpness, so you are definitely right. Thanks for pointing it out.

    • @mhaney1111
      @mhaney1111 Před 2 měsíci +2

      Thank you for responding. It could be that I am seeing this on my cell phone so it is hard to judge sharpness. I do prefer to see some area in front of the subject in focus.
