Ouch, that BMW wasn’t actually hydrolocked… until the RAC guy intervened. If there’s water in the air box, you really need to have all the turbo pipes off and blow the intercooler out… or this is likely to happen if your engine isn’t already locked. The RAC hate towing people and ALWAYS try to affect a roadside fix (if they turn up at all), but in a scenario like this, just insist on being towed and DON’T try turning your engine over.

They can avoid the ford completely by driving three or four miles to go around it. I don't understand the mentality of anyone who would risk spending all day by the roadside and potentially a bill equivalent to several months of salary for the sake of driving five minutes longer.

RAC man just wanted to punish the BMW engine a bit more. Bent rod on that one now. The higher the engine speed as you go through a flood, the more chance of the incoming water getting picked up into the airbox.Keep engine speed down.

RAC at its best, wrecked his engine.
No the owner wrecked his own engine, the damage was already done..
@@Didlo223 The water suffocated the engine and stopped it by denying it air, if the RAC had the BMW towed to a reputable garage explained the issue, a removal of the injectors would then allow the engine to be turned over without hydraulic failure. When the owner started his engine on the advice of the RAC it was the water in the inlet manifold that was then drawn into the cylinder that then 'wrecked' it.
You can't blame Mr RAC.
Car owner said "I've cleaned out the air box the best I can."
Mr RAC said "You say it turns over?" And BMW twat said "yeah". That's when Mr RAC said "Do you want to just try it for me then so I can see what it's like...."
BMW Wanker had obviously already had it turning over.
If he had driven through the ford steadily his car would have lived to tell the tale but he decided to play at being a boy racer and it seriously misfired.
