The best thing to do, go through the water full speed, make sure that the hood and the engine compartment is full and well flooded. Then when you get out of the water, crank it and floor it like there's no tomorrow. And while you doing that, call your garage to order you a new engine.
@@richard6812 yes, sorry, forgot to add, for the DIY people and the car enthusiasts, after the 5 minute blank stare, open the air filter and squeeze out the water from the filter and throw filter in the ditch. Then take a cloth and wipe the excess water into the drainage hole in the airfilter housing. Then crank it, until you hear the bang. When you hear the bang, it's fixed. Today’s scientific experiment : bending metal just by using water! 1. Race your car through Rufford Ford. Any speed faster than creeping pace should do it but running the engine near redline is definitely the best to ensure proper water ingestion. 2. Make it to the other side of the Ford. 3. While climbing up the bank, try to accelerate. Gravity and inertia both work in your favor here, ensuring that water makes it past the numerous bends of the air intake’s piping. 4. When you feel the engine is running a bit rough, it means you’re close to success! Now floor the accelerator. This step is critical in today’s scientific experiment. As more air is sucked into the engine, it carries water that made it through the intake’s mouth but hadn’t reached the engine yet. Caution! Don’t allow all cylinders to fill with water. At least one cylinder must remain just water-free enough to produce power. You’ll see why in a moment. 5. The best at this point is for the engine to stall. Now wait a few seconds. This pause water to trickle down the intake manifold and then into those cylinders with the intake valves opened (hint : only some cylinders have their intake valves open at any given moment. Having the engine stalled allows that moment to be long enough for water to make it inside a single one). 6. Now push that big red button to crank the engine! 7. The cylinder that you just filled with water now has its intake AND its exhaust valves closed. In the next cylinder, the one denied trickling water, a fuel-air mixture ignites. It powers the piston down which in turn pushes the next piston up, the one with the cylinder that’s full of water. Here’s a fact : Water can’t be compressed. 8. Hear that connecting rod bend. 9. Congratulations, you’ve just bent metal with water!

Holed up here in Singapore, self-isolating with my second bout of COVID, this channel has provided some great entertainment. However, I still totally fail to understand a driver who stops before entering the water, then accelerates into it, rather creeping forward. I’ll be flying home next week. Maybe I’ll continue up to Ollerton the next time I go to visit my family in the Midlands. However, I definitely won’t be risking the engine of my Golf R. The dry ford (it's actually a so-called Irish Bridge) at Kenilworth, where I used to live, will do. I tested positive two days after going to F1 and, to cover myself for my travel insurance, I had to get an official test done by a GP. This meant that I had to obey the local regulations and self-isolate. In Singapore, you do as you're told - or else. As I was officially on record, I had a daily call from the MOH, ostensibly to check on my condition. I was booked to have my fifth jab after I got home next week, but that will now have to wait, of course.

@@frogsplorer I think most of them are from local area, sat nav never directed me through there and I often drive in this direction with nav already on…
Oh well. There’s no helping some people
And then Richard Hammond drives through in Oliver.... 😆👍
Something so satisfying watching inexperienced uneducated drivers not understanding how a car works or bothering to take a few minute detour 👊👊
Always surprises me which cars make it through! Not what you would always guess….
Drying the air filter will always work. 😂
Why would you be there to encourage someone to ruin their car for a laugh? If it's their decision its on them, but say "go on" and then celebrate when they don't make it is just wierd.
If he had driven through like a normal person he'd be fine
@@Sii6X, obviously not everyone is as smart, intelligent and logical as you to know that. Some people dont have the experience of driving through knee-deep standing water.
@@Sii6X on one of your donkeys 😂
It's not weird at all. It's human nature, laughing at the expense of others......
I'd be happy to take my old Golf diesel into the ford, because it's manual and I could slip the clutch, keep the revs up and crawl through. However, I obviously couldn't do that with a GSD transmission.
Hope you get over your sniffle you brave soldier you
@@brianmorley482 Thank you for your kind words.
Fortunately,, this time around it was no worse than a bad cold, unlike my first bout, back in April. I felt rough for several weeks, despite having just had my fourth jab only two weeks before catching the thing. However, as they say, old age isn't so bad, when you consider the alternative.
That sucks to hear. Lockdown and covid measures are all gone in the UK. People lockdown by choice. Hope it gets better soon
Rufford Ford, where cars come to meet their watery grave.
i still reckon you should tie-wrap them plates to a net draped over the handrail.
I think people get used to doing this when the water isn't as high. Oooh, fun! Then, when it's deep...
1/2 the fun now is predicting which ones are going to fail. :D
They should never start an engine that has stopped due to potential water ingress until they have first fully inspected that there is no water in the cylinders! They are just increasing their repair bill with each crank attempt. Damaged cylinders, cylinder lining, cylinder head, piston, whole engine block gone, etc.
If you get stuck in the middle, just run your car forwards on the starter motor whilst in gear. People are just thick!
Volvo driver 🤣
That's right connect some jump leads and bend your conrods even more.
Take the air filter out and let the water get sucked in even quicker 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I noticed his wife sat silently. We can only imagine the blocking he got off her once they got out of ear shot.
@@AllBikesGreatAndSmall Nah - I reckon she knew exactly what was going to happen.
She's seen the previous vids and was trying to get one over the 'know-it-all' hubby.
Seems like it worked !
The ford keep chalking up those kill streaks!
If you saw all those excited spectators wouldn’t you hesitate and think? I know thinking is considered a bit old fashioned, but people should give it a chance.
I can't wait till The winter and loads of rain😁
Next time when I visit my brother in law in England, I must definitely visit that place too. Seems to be not far away from him. But I won't drive through the flood with my nice 2017 Kia Sorento.
hard to push, because its full of water :)
I hope the V8 RangeRover charges to tow them out prob uses 5 quids worth of fuel each time 😂
The Hummer driver is feeling so good and proud of their vehicle.
1:40 The Volvo XC V70 (not quite) Cross Country
Well, it's called Cross Country, not Cross Ford.
Tbf though when you see loads of camera men lined up wouldn't you think hold on a minute let me 💭 about this 🤔 instead of foot through the floor🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
For someone (me) who has been struggling with different issues over the past couple of years to get my car running properly, I simply cant comprehend why folk even risk driving through this ford 🤷🏻♂️
I'm so sad this fun will be cut off in future when people are driving EVs only...
Nah, they'll wreck their vehicles, we just won't see it on camera. Teslas for example have rather fragile setups for the water cooling in front of their batteries, those sending it trough the water most likely destroyed/damaged it. Tesla AFAIK does not offer or authorize repairs on those things, which are fixed to the battery.
The number plates of shame at the end there...
Saved the best till last, night vision.
I've been hooked on these videos since I found them a couple of weeks ago 😂. The (lack of) intelligence of these drivers is staggering. Go as fast as you possibly can so that the maximum amount of water washes over the car, then wonder why the engine hydraulics itself to oblivion!!!! 🙄
4:49 nice imported hummer
У нас подобная глупость называется: больше "газу" - меньше ям. Дизель воду не заметит, бензин хлебнёт воды.
I like how parents bring their kids to watch.
parents with previously hydro-locked engines
2nd 😜.. lol .. have a beautiful day Everyone ✌️
Water, air, whatever. My engine will keep on going.
I still find it hilarious that so many people gather there JUST to see other people destroy their cars.
next they'll be selling popcorn and premier seating for everyone to poke fun at the unfortunate and uneducated. The modern day gladiator is car against water. 😯
Come on guys... you just created this for attracting tourists. 😄
It's so strange how some cars die almost straight away - and others just plough through without the slightest glitch
just to put this in a little bit of perspective for the viewers: do you have any idea how many cars per day pass and how many drivers mess up their cars??
This is the place to go when you want a new car and the Mrs is saying you don't need one.
If I just take out this wet air filter, it will be all ok again won’t it? 🤣🤣.
I dont know why you locals are so accommodating in pushing them out , I would just say no if asked for help and watch them struggle. every one of them could have avoided this ford but oh no.......
Can someone explain to me why these drivers will not take a road detour? Why do so many drivers take such a high risk of engine damage?
The amount of people that don’t know that cars shouldn’t go for a swim is mind boggling.
Haha greggers got soaked lol
0:02 fords from that generation have electronics right at the front, all of that water would of totally shot that focus
very nice
The money that is wasted by people being so astonishingly stupid...!
I hope their insurance companies tell these clowns to take a hike for the repair costs as they knowingly went through deep water of their own accord. Do any of these people know whereabouts the air intake is or the height of it in the engine bay, crazy.
It honestly never seizes to amaze me how people don’t know how to drive through deep water……they are literally clueless about air intakes 😂
The stupidity of many drivers is increasing.
I mean.. I learnt about this ford since months,. And I am from Italy . How is it that local still enjoy bending rods??
I still don’t understand why people flaunt their car in the flood like this 😂
Are all of these cars honestly needing new engines?
Some people shouldn’t have a driving licence
Part 113, and the people there still do not get it. Why?
Are repairs free over here?
