The story behind this years VIDBIR is very interesting btw.
In order to choose a winner both, people and judges should vote.
KALUSH won by peoples votes, but lost by judges votes (judges were biased btw).
There were also some mysteries going on with the number of peoples votes, since managers of VIDBIR didn't provide those number. When host of the show told the judges' votes outloud one judge was surprised and said - "I thought our votes won't be public".
While all of it was happening, people were really angry with Alina, because she was visiting Crimea in 2015 traveling there from Moscow. It's violation of ukrainian law, because after russian occupation of Crimea anyone who visited Crimea from russian territory commited a crime. Alina said that she didn't visit Crimea from russian territory and soon provided a document from State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS). Turned out the document was fake, and SBGS didn't give her any documents (faking such docs is a crime btw).
This and other deeds of Alina, such as cooperation with russians and making photos where she was wearing a jacket colored as russian flag made majority of people angry, because a person who publicly shows her affection to the enemy, who killed many ukrainians and occupied our territory, can't represent Ukraine on Eurovision.
Despite all of it Alina proceeded being delusional and were saying stuff such as "It's our enemies doing bad stuff in the background and they want to separate us (ukrainians), I haven't done anything wrong", without taking any responsibility.

I agree with this reply. Also, the Border Control Guard refused to make the details of Alina's international movement public. Alina was only allowed to participate in Vidbir based on a document she personally provided. The fact that this document has since been proven being fake made her disqualified and allegedly guilty of breaching the law. It's like a drug test for an athlete that turned back positive when the athlete had been already approved for participation in the Olympics and won a couple of medals. Alina's unsavoury public behaviour and the judge's biases weren't the main reason for the disqualification, in case someone is wondering whether it was "mere cancelling" or whatever.

Yeah, finally song with good meaning)
This song will win Eurovision by miles! When I first heard it, it sounded like a mish mash. After I listened to it again...I realised this is so well produced, deep, well choreographed and a great tune and rhythm.
Thanks, Pablo, for the reaction to the song "Stafania". I guess, this is the most catchy one amongst the songs represented at the national selection to Eurovision. As for the lyrics, you asked:

As for the vocals, I believe, that's the folk style, when not technical part is what touches your heart. And sometimes this "non-perfect sound" is valued as authentical. So , I don't think he needs to train a lot in case they go to Eurovision (which I hope will fulfill).

Alina Pash violated vidbir's rule and by that Ukrainian law that is why she got disqualified. The thing is the person who represents the country must not only be a good singer, but also be an honest citizen and be sure about their position towards enemies. Kalush doesn't have anything to do with Alina
If the documents are indeed forged, then she violated more than one Ukranian law.
And she wasn't disqualified, she withdrew... We dont need Kalush, we have our winner and that is song "Тіні забутих предків"
@@Hiisi-lr7rm She was disqualified and she was notified about it. But later in the same day when she was notified about disqualification she publicly announced that she withdrew voluntarily which is another of her countless lies.

The frontman of Kalush Orchestra said nothing bad about Alina and her song. While she was quite toxic towards him and the band. Thank you for your reaction, it is fair that Kalush Orchestra will represent Ukraine because they won in televoting :)

He wasn't rude or mad at Alina, he had problems with votes, at the final there was a big mess ,the screen where should have been results wasn't working, but they had a paper what they just couldn't read and count together the votes, it was annoying, Kalush just wanted to see the paper, but they were hiding it and after it no-one knowed what's on that paper, so it was wtf situation. 🙄
He was rude to Alina, and he hadnt permission to see that paper with result and that's okey

Thank you for your reaction and saying that the entry is very unique and very Ukrainian. It means a lot, particularly these days when Russian politicians keep saying that there are no such people as Ukrainians because they do not have a distinct identity.
Тhis song is the confession of a disobedient son to his mother. Тhe rap part lirics is about she always loved him, even in spite of brawls. She allways heartily loved him, accept, and sang a lullaby even when he done something bad.

Alina committed a criminal offense by providing the organizers with false documents about trips to the occupied territories and Russia. No matter how beautiful her song would be, we are for Alina's disqualification, since it is unacceptable to violate the laws, especially in wartime. We do not need victory at any cost, we need justice, this is one of the main features of our people. If Kalush will represent us, this is fair, since the people gave them the highest score and they are not noticed for breaking the laws. Thanks for reaction)

This song is about mother's love to her son. As a child and a teen he didn't behave and was't a good son but now he understands how much his mother cared for him and he's grateful. You saw a lady, she's a mother of a guy in a pink hat,Oleg. He wrote this song for her 60th birthday.

that's not true. he didn't do anything bad to alina. it wasn't about alina, the whole scandal was about suspilne and people who organised vidbir.
the host of vidbir made a couple of mistakes during the announcement of points from viewers. he changed the points a few times, which obviously seemed suspicious to the majority of audience. so after the stream, when the show ended, kalush and his team asked the organizators to show the paper sheet with the results, to prove that they are true (since the host made mistakes a few times). but they just wouldn't show anything. that's what the scandal is about. so it's not true. he didn't do anything to alina herself.
