      LegitMods4u maybe you could respond I'm trying to get the parts together to start doing my car audio upgrade I'm trying to retain my factory head unit and am aware that I will need a line out converter. I want to amplify my door and rear deck speakers and also wire in a subwoofer, I'm wondering how to wire them. If I get a four channel line out converter for the door and deck speakers where would I wire my subwoofer? Also do I go with a four or five channel amplifier? I understand a LOC as being the inputs to the amp via RCA and running wires from the amp to the door speakers for my outputs but where do I get my output to my sub.

    • @ChrisLesmerises
      @ChrisLesmerises Před 7 lety +2

      five channel amp solves your search for sub low levels, or split the low level converted from the rear channels. Or buy a DSP like this and just run your high levels into that, and it will give you front, rear, and sub out. He did exactly what you're trying to do in this video, Convert a stock heads high levels into multiple low outputs.

    I am going to purchase this piece to use in my latest install as I think it will be the central and critical piece of building an exceptional sound system. I think you really have to understand conceptually all that this piece can do and all of the customization it offers to realize why it has that power. I've always loved competition car audio and my last system was great but very old school. I actually dreamt about this device on paper before I actually realized it had been built and the Gods at AudioControl (who else is there) were the creators of this amazing control center, what, with crossovers of all kinds, AutoEQ, built in RTA, time delay, and all controlled from a software interface, this is a serious piece with some well thought out concepts.

    Audio Control Just confirmed to me that the Blue Tooth module for the DM DSPs will be released late Feb 2018. Additionally, apps for the Android and Apple OS are also being released around the same time which makes sense since they are symbiotic. Another update is the firmware this April that will include the individual EQ capability of each channel versus the current EQ channel pair. In other words channels 1/2 and 3/4 will no long be combined so you can tune channel 1, 2, 3, 4 independent of each other. Prior to this update I was using channels 1/2 for front left and channels 3/4 for front right to get my separate EQ capability. I used the mono 5/6 for my sub and 7/8 for rear fill or center channel (I toyed with both but the rears worked better for me in my 2010 Acura TL. I used a low powered 3 inch center channel running off the factory amp which did impact time alignment because it created an echo effect. I was able to use the input tab on the DM608 to delay the signal to eliminate the echo. I then used the left channel delay for channels 1/2 and the right channel delay for channels 3/4 to set my sound stage. I was concerned using two delays might cause and issue but it worked out in this case. Once I get the updated firmware its time to tear down and reconfigure things a bit.

    Great review, as usual you're always adding value to the car audio fanatics and DIYers. Excellent product as well.
    A suggestion for audiocontrol: The line RTA is very welcome, but the unit should also have a mic for autotune purposes. Most DIYers don't have a full RTA at home and/or don't want to take the car for a shop to tune the audio system. I'm using a JBL MS-8 right now specially because of that feature, replacing an audison Bit ten D. Thx

    • @ThinkDifferentish
      @ThinkDifferentish Před 6 lety

      I agree. The MS-8 is a cult classic for this very reason. It is the only DSP with auto-tune (AND CENTER CHANNEL/SURROUND SOUND SUPPORT!!!). Now, if it allowed you to view and edit the EQ curves it created, that would be what I'm looking for. And if it worked better (MS-8 requires you to play with volume settings and re-do the auto-tune multiple times before it gets it "right").

    Mark, When it comes to the DM-810/608 delay settings of each speaker, what is your preference? In other words, if the vehicle is used by two people at the same time, one driver and one passenger, what is your recommendation for setting the delays? Do you optimize for the region center of both front seats?
    I would think that adding the ACR-3 would enable two settings (Memory), one delay optimized for the driver when alone, then a second optimized for two people centered between the front seats - that is if the Acr-3 can select between memories.

    Mark, a question... When I use a DSP like the one in the video, all equalization and crossover adjustments will be done exclusively on the DSP, right? So on the device that is the sound/signal source (multimedia/CD Player/receiver), and which is before the DSP, I: (1) leave the equalization in "flat", that is, I don't do any equalization and (2) ) I don't use the crossover that is integrated into the sound source, that is, I leave the crossover deactivated. The same goes for the amplifier that is after the DSP, that is, if the amplifier has some type of equalization, this equalization must be deactivated, it must be in "flat"; and if the amplifier has any crossover adjustment; This feature must be disabled. Is my reasoning correct?

    I love this video, thank you. I just ordered the DM 608 and was wondering if there is any material that goes deeper into the application that helps a beginner successfully navigate and setting up their DSP for their system? The reason I ask is, for my car I have 17 speakers, six tweeters, six 6.5s, two 8s, 1 driver/horn and my 2 subs which are running off of 3 amps. 3500W Class D monoblock for my subs and two 1600W Class D 4 channel... one for mids and one for highs. Every speaker is wired down to a lower impedance. My subs, DVC 4ohm wired to 1ohm, tweeters, 6.5s and 8s SVC 4ohm wired to 2ohm. My 3500W is 1ohm stable, RMS Power 3500W- 1ohm: 1 channel at 14.4v and my two 1600W 4 channels RMS Power are 2ohm: 320W x 4 channels at 14.4v. My tweeters and driver/horn are DS18s - tweeters 225w RMS and driver/horn is 320W RMS. My 6.5s and 8s are SunDown Neo Pro v3, 6.5s 180w RMS and 8s are 200w RMS. My subs are Skar Audio VXF 12s 3000W Max/1500W RMS.
    I originally had all Skar products, tweeters, 6.5s, 8s, subs and amps. I am in the process of removing all skar products from my car due to a falling out with a local car audio shop and Skar directly, Skar seem to assist this shop in ripping me off for over 428.00 for a enclosure they completely screwed up the port size for VXFs. I've completed the replacing the skar inside speakers. Now I'm waiting for Deaf Bonce to restock on their apocalypse series DB-3012 D1 12s, their apocalypse series AAK 4K.1D D class monoblock amp and two apocalypse series AAB 500.4D 4 channel amps to replace my skar amps plus subs.
    Any way, after typing all this I'm not sure why it was necessary but I was hoping there was material out there that dives deeper into how navigate and setup the DM 608 DSP?

    Just curious about what some budget friendly speakers are a good choice to replace the factory 2 ohm speakers in a 2012 Nissan Altima with the standard stock head unit. Sadly no Bose, no touch screen... but you get what you get when purchasing used vehicles. Any serious help is appreciated.

    I just bought a dsp with 2 inputs and 8 outputs. I also have a audio control 7 band equalizer and an aftermarket deck with a dsp Ana equalizer. Can I intrigate my audio control equalizer into my new dsp.

    @carAudioFabrication Mark, I've left my gains at 0.0dB, is that OK? I've checked the factory stereo Distortion point with a DD-1. I'm not familiar with the DSP yet. I don't want to have a problem after spending a week installing everything.

    So I’m a beginner I’ve installed many speakers but never tuned a DSP or anything how difficult is this and for a beginner is there a particular model DSP you would recommend. I’m looking at a Gladen 130.4, audiocontrol and JL series but ultimately I want something that’s easy to tune as I don’t know what the heck I’m doing

    I am just using one of these products for the first time. I have some questions. 6.1200 DSP and amp combo
    The factory head unit I am integrating with has different clip points based on frequency. I have a single Left Right pair for input, the head unit clips 40 HZ at 32 volume level, 400 Hertz at 30, for kilohertz at 25, and 10 kilohertz at 24.
    I want to amplify these signals in a band pass configuration individually. However the output view is DBA relative so it doesn't allow for boosting outside of the EQ itself.
    I was thinking that maybe jump ring input channel one two over to 34 and 56, would give me the ability to individually set clip points for both mid bass, mid-range and tweets.
    This seems like a very roundabout way of doing it but I can't think of anything else given the limitations of this product.
    Also, how do you deal with phase irregularities without the implementation of any all pass filters?
    Finally, have you found any issues connecting this to a Windows 11 machine? So far I've only seen it working on Windows 7

  • @edevaldosilvacosta4628

😕 uso três vias, caixial e subwoofer Hertz Mille.

    Exactly what I am looking for. However, I do have a question, i know that most who use this piece of equipment will normally be utilizing a 3-way component speaker system actively. Since I am performing my own install, I don’t care to run that much speaker wire therefore, can a system like this be used on a passive 2-3 way component system? Also, how would the x-over on this unit be used in conjunction with a mono block amp? Thank you!

    I still have a bunch of AudioControl product from the 90's - EQT's still brand new in the boxes. Loved my AudioControl RTA (it got stolen in a burglary along with a bunch of Orion NT amps and a couple of 3558's and Juba's). I used to love the packaging - this way up, don't deep fry or saute, someones sounds gonna sound great with this stuff... @AudioControl, do you need a NZ and Australian distributor?

    Hopefully you see this and can reply to me I've seen tons of your videos on CZcams, great content by the way, I had a question for you hopefully you have time to respond I'm almost certain you'll have the answer so, I'm trying to get the parts together to start doing my car audio upgrade I'm trying to retain my factory head unit and am aware that I will need a line out converter. If you could respond or make a video response that'd be great.

  • @JesseOsby
    @JesseOsby Před 7 lety

    Very cool! Are the 10- and 14-band EQ's graphic also, or are they parametric? And if parametric, can both be used for tuning the output together, or do you have to pick just one?

    If it has a built in RTA in the software, why would you still need to use a RTA mic to tune it?

    • @CarAudioFabrication
      @CarAudioFabrication  Před 7 lety +8

      The RTA you see on the device is the electrical response. Just because you send a flat response signal to a speaker does not mean that its response will be completely flat, the environment within the vehicle, design of the speaker etc all have an impact on the actual response you hear, thus the need for tuning. Starting with a flat electrical response gives you a much better starting point and you know for a fact what frequency range is being sent to each speaker, this is why it is advantageous to see real time.

      We think the DM-810 is the best! Very comparable in many ways but the integrated RTA's and some extra secret sauce makes the DM-810 very very special. On a side note did you know that these are Engineered, Designed, and Manufactured in the US? (using globally sourced components)
