    As an hvac tech I recommend just setting it to a temperature and leaving it. It barley uses any electricity with that inverter. You want that unit to run continuously to constantly pull humidity out. congratulations man awesome work!!!

      You use less energy if only putting it on when you need.
      If you're only in the shed on the weekend, why cool it during the week.

    • @shr00m7
      @shr00m7 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@Robert-cu9bm The energy requirement to cool a hot room 5-10 degrees is greater than keeping a room temperate all the time. If he is legitimately only in the shop 2 days a week, maybe only running it on those 2 days is the more cost-effective thing to do- but if he's in there 3+ days a week, it probably works out better to keep it a constant temperature all the time.

    Good work. If you have any of the foil board left, you could use that to cover the other window behind the shelves. I'm sure it will be better in keeping the heat out compared to the black cover of the other window.

    look into a brush seal or "emba seal" for the roller doors. when we fit doors that require seals, we screw the actual seal to the door. brush seal folds up inside of the door when the door opens.
    idea is to mark on the felt where the steel header/lintel is in line with one profile of the door, then open the door so you can then screw the seal from the inside.
    works a lot better, doesnt get caught in the door when the door opens!

    Just a suggestion, maybe look at coreflute panels to line your ceiling. You could easily paint these black if wanted. Only reason I'm suggesting this is they are cheap panels, but would act similar to double glazing. I.e. the panel has a void for air to move between the hot side of the insulation and the cooler side of a conditioned space.

  • @JonathanMckenzie-lf2tn

    Just a heads up you aircon is going to suffer from being in such a confined space outside. As it discharges hot air that will bounce off the fence and circle back into the condenser coil, on a hot day it will not cope. At least fit an air deflector to direct air up and out.

    • @jasonh4167

    From what I was told using reverse cycle AC is set it to 22 that's the sweet spot anything less will make it work to hard costing $$...22 is a good comfortable temp. Nice work shed coming up mint, sound quality on video is improving so much too since the dry wall been put up.

    You could invest in a cheap infrared camera which shows you where heat may be creeping in from. There’s a few videos on CZcams about. Might be worth a look

    Mate you should have stuck with the thick one. What you needed to do was punch some small holes along it to let the air escape on closing. That done wipe Baby powder along the rubber to soften it up on closure.
    Bingo , problem solved.

    Just curious, if you didn't intend to use the window to view thru (inadvertently, I agree) why don't you just put foam board over it now, as you did the door. Insulate far better than black vinyl will and be more conducive to overall appearance & also slip some over window behind shelves to stop light and heat penetrating.

    I have no idea how anyone can work in a shed with all the doors closed. The fumes from welding, turning, grinding and general dust making will slowly kill you.
