- This BCNR33 Skyline Coupe has had a hard life; especially recently! Not its first fender bender either, as repairs are evident in the rear-right quarter panel, and there's filler/putty/BOG, whichever you wanna call it! Drivetrain of RB26, 5 speed manual and IRS seem to remain in working order, but all panels are beyond repair. Makes me wonder if it'll be rebodied, and make its way once more market. Time will tell.
Same goes for the Gray Metallic BNR32 and all that rust! Sometimes you don't even wanna open doors/bonnets because you suspect the rot goes deep. Truly rusted chassis and sills, and... makes me wonder if it'll be rebodied, and make its way once more market. Time will tell.

I love them all, but in my heart of hearts I have to say: 32 > 33 > 34. 32s are truly timeless, no other way to describe them. The 33 is the most mature in my opinion. Refined, yet stylish, but still understated. 34 Skylines look a little too modern in my opinion. They have fantastic styling, but are just too out there for me personally.

It's been fun watching the opinion of R33s change over the years especially here in NZ and Aus. 10 - 15 years ago absolutely everyone hated these cars, real ugly duckling situation. But I think now that the R34 and R32s have become unattainable we've all sort of come to accept them. Or maybe it's just because now we see everyone else playing with them and we only want them because they have them.
Hey, Chris. Late-arse response, but crazy busy (:_:) I think the content saturation of R32 & R34 may also be a contributing factor. Just a guess.

Oh geez, both total goners in my opinion but you know since how hot these cars are you bet the r33 is gonna get more bondo and be fixed while the r32 is gonna get the undercarriage black paint treatment. I don't like most of 90s cars and the r32 is right in the middle of too new but the outside looks alright to my eyes, but never as good as the previous gen. Those square 80s ones were amazing 😍 awesome video Daniel!!
As you say, hot cars, might get donor bodies. To be honest, one reason I made this video was to see if 10 or 15+ from now the same chassis numbers appear once more. Interesting experiment
@@wasabicars true! You got your archive, the donor body treatment sounds way better, if it stays local i bet it'll get body swapped, but if it goes abroad i think it's getting straightened out in a bad way and get sold. They've been exporting junk lately which is a shame

Was the R33 trying to bring a hommage to the last and final Shuto Kōsoku movie? In Shuto Kōsoku Trial Max the best friend of the protagonist crashes his white R33 GT-R in a similar way and the protagonist becomes a lone drifter.
That disaster would probably still sell for at least £10k in the uk lol

cool :). im really not into the r33 coupes, but the sedan ones are allright haha. state of that r32 kinda reminds me of a nissan sunny b12 gti (rz-1) i was interested in buying years ago. looked allright at first glance, it also had oem plastic sideskirts on, so i pushed my hand under it to see hows the metal in there. the metal in there was non existant and i ended up touching the carpet, lol. did not bought it after all hahaha

@@wasabicars funny thing is, if the exact same car for the same price would appear for sale i would straight up buy it, it had valid paperwork, somehow it was still road legal and it was only 320€, nowdays they go for like 5000€...oh well lol

i always preferred the r33... it's super understated look appeals to me more than the aggressive looks of the 32 and 34. but my favorite skyline is the c210 so what do i know!
Lol! I have seen some cool C210's, but they certainly are the odd one out in many people's opinions.

I think since it was the first one I saw in person and got the chance to get in it and start it up I am emotionally tied to the R33. It was 2016 so it was before the R33s were eligible for import to the US so the dealer which was coincidentally right outside Yakota Air Base had it sitting on the front line. It was a gray 1996 GT-R V-Spec with 91,000kms and looked to be in good original condition. It had a window price of 1,280,000 yen - or for my American friends, about $12,000 at the time. I knew at the time that would be the last time I would ever see one anywhere near that price. If I could have found a place to store it until it was legal to import I would have bought it on the spot.

Not big into R33s either, red headed step child of the skylines really. Also good lord, that r32, ive never seen anything as monumentally rotted. Maybe the previous owner liked to test it out on the beach.

I like the R33 GTR. Most 32 lovers will go on about group a ignoring the amount of re engineering Gibson went to in order to beat a basic v8.. and the 32 interior sucks and the look is dull.

For a start, I always resented R32's for effing up Bathurst/Brock. I guess I was amongst 'the pack of a-holes'. lol. I came to like the R32 for sure though. In recent years, I just kept seeing specific edition R33 GT-R's; 40th anniversary 4 door, the blue LM limited (as seem in the intro to this video), etc... The rear quarter is certainly so-so, but I've come to appreciate their refinement over the R32 GT-R
