  • I’ve never seen anyone beat up a truck as much as Phil Hall. The Peterbilt medium-duty segment manager pounds on the grill, punches the kick plate, stands on the cupholder and slams the door-all to prove a point. The newly unveiled Peterbilt medium-duty lineup is tough, and the new Class 7/8 Model 537 and Model 548 and Class 5/6 Model 535 and Model 536 are built to last.
“We’ve been building medium-duty trucks for 25 years, and of all the trucks that we built, 95% are still in service,” Hall said during a press conference at the Texas Motor Speedway. “That tells us that some of these trucks are going into their fourth lifecycle, and that’s a great testament from the continuous improvement, quality and the durability of our trucks and our processes that we have in our manufacturing, engineering and design.”
Hall noted that the medium-duty lineup’s human-centered design is propped up by five key pillars: uptime; efficiency; versatility; technology and productivity. In the video above, Hall walks us through the product highlights.
“We couldn’t come up with all of these ideas and solutions without the customer’s input,” Hall said. “We engaged the customer throughout. That result is the medium-duty truck that we have today. We set a new standard for the new medium-duty market and not just for the first life cycle, but many multiple life cycles for the future.”

I just received a 2023 tractor. At FedEx. I love the truck. Invisibility. And the ride. but they are incredibly loud. For some reason, on the highway, they are so very very loud. So loud in fact, most of our senior drivers chose not to drive them. But still, I do love mine. Unfortunately, the steering wheel wheel is not straight. A factory defect. While driving down the street road, the steering wheel is turned slightly to the left. And my shop will not fix that. It is very annoying. but I do love the new steering wheel. And the seats are very comfortable. The sound system is just fine. And the Bluetooth is top notch. The plastic interior scratches easily, but that will not be a problem for me. I am very gentle on my truck. Overall, it’s a great tractor.

Love the new look on the Pete and KW for 2023. Thing that I don't understand why Pete doesn't do that KW does, is put the door seal under the door so that it seals tight after 300k miles still. Pete has a seal in the door where it gets stepped on or possibly damaged by something else verses KW puts it under the door when it opens. Much less likely to get damaged there. One of the reasons we went with KW over Pete for our medium duty trucks. We are in landfills everyday and beat on trucks so we need very durable trucks. Have ordered a KW to 2nd quarter of 2022 so we are excited to see it.

Peterbilt will sell a lot of these 335/336 medium duty 26ft box trucks if were to come with a crew cab or D.O.T standard sleeper berth {extended cab}.

Great trucks, would be better if a crew cab was offered. Crew and equipment all in one truck!
