    More of this stuff. Anyone can review clubs (and tbh it's not that exciting anymore) but this kind of video is what is unique about this channel. Please bring more content like this.

    Hoping they share more info on things Ian is great at (i.e. grip pressure) as well as what he needs help with. It seems logical for them to focus on what he needs, but I’m hoping they also dive into elements like grip pressure (which the rest of us may not be great at).

    One of the topics that caught my attention, in this video, was grip strengths impact on grip size. Ian stated that they don’t chose grip size based on hand size. How does grip strength impact proper grip size? How does CC chose grip size?

    Swinging at 100 with a goal to get to 105. My body can take hitting 120 balls every other or every 2 days. Which I do in a home simulator. What’s the best way to work in speed training while wanting to work on hitting balls and general swing development?
    Hit less balls? Speed train before hitting balls? Speed train with the driver hitting balls?

    • @canyonaro
      @canyonaro Před 8 měsíci +2

      First thing is you gotta have a measurement tool. Once you have that, the simplest thing is one recommended by Bryson DeChambeau.
      1. Take a few swings to establish a baseline clubhead speed.
      2. Swing your ass off until you hit 10 mph over your baseline.
      3. Slow down to +5 mph from your baseline and do eight swings at that speed (trying to normalize that speed).
      That protocol should be able to get you a decent amount of speed over several seasons. Your baseline will creep up.
      The problem I came across with SuperSpeed is I was mashing my driver but it messed up my sequencing with my irons. I ended up giving up and slowing down to keep it on the course this year but I'm going to try again over the winter.

    At the beginning of last season I was struggling to get over 100mph. I’ve gained around 10mph… but can’t seem to square the face at impact anymore. I will be doing another fitting, but could it be because the head is lagging behind? Can’t turn it over for the life of me. I’m swinging between 3-5 degrees inside out and the constant miss is a block right. Or a push cut right. Edit: currently on a stiff flex averaging around 108mph

    Ok cool let’s look at the IRL reality that it’s an 8 foot ceiling world, the elite facilities or even facilities to accommodate the program are not accessible to most. I’d like to see real world stories from the demographics of golf how they have adopted this into their day when they don’t necessarily have the resources or climates to perform the “speed journeys” or even to maintain your speed. Great video and information just want to see how the masses are adopting into their lives 👍

      The standard Superspeed protocols can be done outside in your yard or driveway, and you can get a PRGR for the most affordable option of measuring speed. Then just set aside 10-15 minutes of every range session where all you’re doing is swinging out of your ass with driver, ignoring direction, and measuring the speed. All these extra features are currently luxuries that hopefully become more accessible and affordable as their benefits become more obvious and profitable. But they’re not absolutely necessary to build speed

    • @NineTo5Golf
      @NineTo5Golf Před 8 měsíci +2

      This is just how I’ve been going about my “speed journey” and I’ve gone from around 100 mph to currently 105 average with a measured peak of 109

      Right, well it’s 15 degrees F outside right now, which greatly increases the likelihood I pull a hammy or slip on the snow and break my hip, so I think OP’s point is still valid.

      Let's be real, If someone is looking for excuses then speed training probably isn't for them. It's not easy to commit to doing it. That being said I live in northern Utah. It's below freezing most days november-march. I've gone outside in 20 degrees and done the training. Just warm up inside first. I've also went to a gym, even took them to work and did it on break. There's plenty of places to do it if someone really wants to.

    Ian has said previously that the Stack System was the “Rolls Royce “ of speed training gear, but uses Superspeedgolf sticks? Paid sponsors I guess. I’ve used both Superspeed and The Stack, and The Stack is miles better, albeit at a higher price.

    • @ianfrasergolf
      @ianfrasergolf Před 8 měsíci +2

      Yes I am indeed a SuperSpeed Golf ambassador but I made that choice after working with both systems. I’ve said many times how much I admire Stack but the SSG protocols have worked best for me. A large part of that is due to the expertise I now have access to with Tyler and Mike as users will now via the Super Speed Golf app which will launch in the New Year.

  • @Evan_Rodgers
    @Evan_Rodgers Před 8 měsíci

    You really do not need a specialized program to increase CHS. Basic workouts and light weight training will get the same results. Anybody can increase their speed by being more active.

    • @corbinchristensen1555
      @corbinchristensen1555 Před 8 měsíci +1

      You're not wrong that basic strength training will improve most people's swing speed, but you're 100% wrong to assert that a specific swing speed training program wouldn't be better. For athletic adaption, specificity is one of the absolute most important elements in making progress. You don't see strength athletes or football players or ufc fighters crossing over to golf and automatically having crazy club speed right off the bat. Obviously on occasion you do, but it's not the norm. Specifically training to swing fast and the practice of swinging faster is what facilitates the neuromuscular coordination, technical adaptations, and increases in muscle tone in the specific places that actually result in a higher club speed output. There will never be a person that picks up a driver and swings it as fast as Bryson on their first attempt or even in their first 6 months. It just won't happen. You could give Brian Shaw a long drive driver and he won't swing it 150mph. To swing faster you have to swing faster, and you don't swing faster by going to the gym and lifting weights. You swing faster by swinging implements of different weights as fast as possible and then applying that work to a club and hitting balls as hard as you can.

    • @ianfrasergolf
      @ianfrasergolf Před 8 měsíci +1

      Correct, but there much more than just gaining speed going on here. We are learning a new movement pattern through an improved kinematic sequence. You’ll see that as this series continues.
