I've been in healthcare 30+ years trained in integrative functional medicine and I specialized in hormone optimization. Most men who are a little overly fat will experience more aromatization when starting testosterone replacement and this MAY increase prolactin levels. However, after a few months this will normalize in most cases. The simple fix is to simply split the dosage. Instead of injecting 150mg per week you would split it to 50mg 3X per week. Actually most men do very well on 50mg 2x per week. There is a lot to this, but for me personally, I inject 30mg every 4th day and my levels average around 1000 total T and free T is around 160-180 and I am 59 years of age. You must also look at your SHBG and inject accordingly.

  • @r0p
    @r0p Před rokem +13

The body gives small pulses of testosterone during the week. Loading up 1 big shot leads to a lot of aromatization. Talk about splitting up the dose to 2-3 shots per week, smaller doses. Maybe even with an insulin needle to avoid scar tissue and more convenience.

  • @unapologetic7900
    @unapologetic7900 Před 14 dny

100 mg seems just right. I do micro dosing.. 0.175 ml 3 times per week, which equals about 100 mg/week. Doing it that way gives you a more level quantity than less frequent higher doses.
Also, make sure you do the blood draw right before your next dose.

I've been on TRT for nearly 8 years now, and the best way I've found to do it is a twice weekly dosing schedule using a SubQ needle(insulin). Adding HCG to your TRT is pretty important too since it'll keep your testicles functioning normally while on exogenous testosterone. So Monday/Thursday I'd dose both my TRT/HCG and I'd subscribe to the philosophy that less is more.

One thing I don't like about your endocrinologist is him saying that you'd go back to normal if you stop injecting. This is not true at all. There is a special course you need to take to restart your hypothesis to produce LG hormone, which will tell your testicles to produce T. Also you should not be just taking T alone, if you need your testicles functioning properly you should be injecting HCG too

@@torqueofthedevil8145 In addition to making people aggressive, testosterone affects the way human skulls grow, and this factor was key in the research. High testosterone levels are associated with thicker brow ridges and other facial traits. Cieri’s group compared measurements from the skulls of ancient humans-dating to as early as 200,000 years ago-with those of modern Homo sapiens. They found that nearly all the skulls belonging to people who lived more than 80,000 years ago show evidence of testosterone levels that were far higher than any modern-day human’s. These high hormone levels may have made social cooperation and community-building more difficult. By contrast, the more recent skulls have traits that indicate lower testosterone levels, which may have allowed ancient humans to live together in larger groups and interact peacefully with outsiders, thus facilitating cultural exchange and advancing technological innovation.

My urologist in the USA had recommended 250 mg every three weeks and the Swiss doctor cut me back to once a month. I am 73 now and I just don't seem to be getting the same results from the T-shots. Hey Jon…..
Thanks for sharing your lab results, I’ve been on testosterone for several years and I’m seriously thinking about stopping myself,
I’m 55 years old I take 120 mg of cypinate
my testosterone is always been in the high 800s …. But my estradiol always high at 60%
And then my hematocrit is always high at 63%
But the only thing that really concerns me is my PSA, has been elevated gradually, and now I’m sitting at a 4.1 and now I have to discontinue my treatment until I see urologist, they said I might have BPH but it’s probably not cancer…
And I do regular phlebotomy every eight weeks to keep my blood levels down…
I’m thinking once my PSA comes down I’ll probably do twice a week injections so my numbers don’t spike before I totally get off of the treatments,
But my experience with testosterone has been wonderful. I had nothing bad to say about it it’s just my levels. I cannot get dialed in without something elevating, and when my PSA is elevated that makes the doctors nervous and I have to stop taking it until my PSA number go down…
But thank you for your story, I’m currently off testosterone it’s been a month now I feel like crap and moody, but I’ll probably get back on it once I do my 16 week lab check so I can get my levels back on baseline and then start up again

My labs are ok, in the upper normal area. Even with this little dose I feel a good pump and energy for training. I would take more If my RBC wouldn't get high, so I have to donate blood every time.
Also important can be the injection frequency, I do it at least twice a week with an insulin needle, no big deal.

Why did your doctor tell you the drop from 150 to 140 wasn't enough when it actually lowered your testosterone to your desired level? 900 is a good number for your total testosterone. What you need to be worried about is your free testosterone. That determines how good you feel. If the clinic you went to didn't talk about your free number find another clinic. Jon Paul, your doctors are clueless! Testosterone levels are declining every generation, fertility rates are plummeting. Doctors need to focus on what’s healthy, forget about normal because normal is changing over time. All you needed to do Jon was break up your shots, twice weekly or go for Jatenzo, which will lower your estrogen since the half-life is 6 hours. The majority of providers are clueless. This is a niche area of medicine few doctors truly understand. I’m on Jatenzo at 237 mg (new oral TRT) twice daily = lower HCT and HGB, lower estrogen compared to injections. I so want to start my own clinic... There are so many cowboys out there! Once weekly shots?? Really? Also.. 150 is too much 100 or less is good for 99% of people. Also at least every other day shots!
If I had my own clinic.. there would be one protocol! You don't like it and just want as much legal gear as you want??? Go elsewhere then!! My clinic...
Test propionate - every day 10-12mg per day..!
This is the gold standard.. the only standard for proper TRT.. if you don't like injections everyday tough shit..go elsewhere then!
It takes 2 mins to do a shot less time than it takes to clean your teeth and you do that twice a day!
The test prop every day at a weekly dose of 85mg (due to ester weight) is as close as you can get to your natural diurnal rise and fall of hormones on a daily basis! This is REPLACEMENT!
I have been to 3 clinics in the past and all stated me on a 1ml shot once a week of 200mg! Why? Because that's what they have always done! Let's do some math!
    200/7 = 29.... -30% ester weight (Cypionate) Let's say roughly 20!!
So 20mg per day! The average health male produces 6-7mg test a day...
You see where this is going...nevem if there is some uptake reduction of say 20% although it's injected straitin to your muscle so doubtful! Bit even then it's that's still at best 2.5X natural at worst it's 3X!
I like math I'm an engineer!
But it would.lakensense to start people at 85 and then see and use a protocol like mine to.kitigate water retention, estrogenic effects, lower blood pressure and lower hematocrit...nall by easily lowering dose moving to propionate and injection late ever evening.. just when you body would naturatbe releasing it testosterone if you had any or much?

This is a great video to point out to not go to a cookie cutter clinic. Find a real hormone doctor. Elevated estrogen isnt even a problem unless you are having symptoms. He did no research. No due diligence.

150mg isnt high at all man. The issues your having is your doing a single dose. That's literally the worst way to do trt. A normal health dr, isn't a hormones dr. Find yourself a hornone dr, and speak to them. Im 38, and started trt in March, my free T was 10. I started trt on 200mg a week, divided between two shots a week. My free test (your overall doesn't matter, due to sbgh) was 30.9, and my estradiol was 76. My Dr bumped up my dose to 240 a week (because libido and energy still sucked), divided between 3 shots a week. My next lab results, my free T was mid 20's, and estradiol mid 30's. Your body will adapt and learn how to manage estrogen on its on. Your body needs time to learn everything new going on.
Highly recommend switching to a minimum of 2 shots a week. Also, you will not grow man boobs (gyno), unless your having high estrogen symptoms. If you notice your nipples are extremely sensitive or hurting, let your dr know, they will adjust your dose.
Even when my estradiol was mid 70s, I had zero estrogen symptoms. I switched to 3 days a week to help combat the estradiol. You need a healthy level of estrogen as man, it's extremely important. Guys want to bottom out their estrogen because they feel it's a female only hormone, it's not, we need estrogen as well. As far as the boys shrinking, mine have. Your balls shut down, because they dont need to produce test anymore, but who needs big balls anyways, lol. You wont have to worry about sitting on them as much 😉. Good luck on your journey.

Thank you for the message. I have got back on the program. Got a new doctor and I’m doing the injection myself. I am doing 3 injections a week. The issue I’m seeing now is the dose isn’t high enough I think. He proscribed me 100mg a week. Maybe I’m jumping the gun since it’s only been 2 1/2 weeks. It’s a learning process of works and doesn’t I’m seeing.

@@JonPaulChannel awesome and, I hope this time around is better. I'd say your 💯 correct 100, is kinda a go to for regular doctors. They want to bump your test up slightly, but most of the time, it isn't enough to make you feel better. Most guys in groups I'm in feel the best on a minimum on 170. If you have a trt clinic near by, talk to them if you don't feel like the 100 is helping.
I recently cut back from 240mg, to 220, and talked to my Dr about trying 200 again, which was my original dose. Trt is a long journey amd takes a while to get dialed in, sometimes a year or more. You have to find out what makes you feel thr best, while keeping your blood markers healthy. I chose to lower myself, because my hemoglobin and hematocrit were both at the top of the range. I've chosen to donate blood twice to help lower it, but this isn't something that I'm willing to make a regular routine. I'll lower my dose and try to concentrate on keeping myself at a healthy level. If your dr has bot ran your PSA blood work for your prostate, I'd highly recommend getting it ran as well. To make sure your prostate is healthy enough for trt. Also, regardless of getting tested, get yourself a good over the counter prostate support supplement and take it.
Good luck on your journey man, take care.

Everyone has different numbers. The main problem I see is all they’re looking at are the numbers. A good TRT clinic/doc will sit down and look you in the eyes and ask you how you feel. Your obviously a newby and a lot of doctors don’t even study there work and specialty in Testosterone. You need someone that talks to you and as well as looks at the numbers and can explain to you through experience how beneficial TRT really is. A 150mg dose is a therapeutic level and you even said you felt better. Now that your off your telling us your starting to feel the low drive and energy again. Go to a good TRT doctor. There are a lot of bad ones so choose wisely. Do more research: estrogen will increase but with time it will level out. Believe it or not estrogen is required for all humans

Thank you for the message. I have found another doctor and trying to learn what I can as quickly as I can. I'm injecting myself now and breaking it up over the week. The doctor has started me out at 100cc per week which has improved my mood and energy but it's not back to where I feel I was. I go back in 3 weeks and will explain this to him. He does ask questions so we will see if he listens. Thanks for the advise I appreciate it.

you produce test daily in a pulse matter. injecting once a week is kinda stupid. doesnt mimic natural physiology.
estrogen is KEY. your estrogen was almost on the lower end, while your T was on the higher end. with high T you want high e2.
having through levels at 800 is perfectly fine. but its just a number. once you have been on TRT for awhile, you know to NEVER go off numbers, you off how you feel. some feel good on 800, some 600, some 1200, some 1500. its all individual. you need to experiment and dial in. every 6 weeks you tweak dose, either up or down and you note down how you feel.
if prolactin is super high, screen for prolactinoma.
do not fear e2.... if wont cause any gyno (man boobs) if you do trt correctly. there is allways gonna be higher risk for side effects when you blast your system once a week. same goes for hairloss etc. split the dose up = less side effects
Do the shots urself, use insulin pins. painless.
there is a good change u wont go "back to normal" after being on trt. u will return to ur 200 total t which is just as much as a 80 year old man. great!
do your own research dont rely on doctors, most of them are not up to date.
my 2 cents. take it with a grain of salt! wish u all well. left a sub, hoping to see some updates brother! :)
