Hungarian and Austrian Trains in Sopron - Vonatok Sopronban - GYSEV - Bahnbetrieb in Ödenburg

Sopron is the headquarters of the GYSEV railway company and located right on the Austro-Hungarian frontier. Aside from the yellow and green GYSEV trains, ÖBB services also pass through.
Although most trains are modern Stadler or Siemens units in the canary livery, there are still a good number of loco-hauled Intercity services to Budapest, which are operated by GYSEV's own fleet of Siemens Taurus or Siemens Vectron electrics. These trains are branded as RaaberCity and also keep the local diesel shunter busy, when coaches need to be added or removed from the consists. The Sopron station is very modern, but the town is historic and pretty, worth a visit.
A nice eye-catcher at the Sopron station is the plinthed 2-6-2 steam locomotive 324.1518. This footage was filmed in late July 2020.

Sopron (Ödenburg) ist der Hauptsitz der Austro-Ungarischen Bahngesellschaft GYSEV (Raaberbahn). Der Bahnhof ist sehr modern, aber der Eisenbahnbetrieb vielfältig und spannend. Die historische Altstadt von Sopron ist nahe vom Bahnhof gelegen und einen Besuch wert. Als Grenzbahnhof auf der namensgebenden Strecke Győr-Sopron-Ebenfurth wird dieser Knotenpunkt auch von ÖBB Zügen bedient. Es gibt Korridorzüge nach Deutschkreutz im Burgenland auch auch direkte Verbindungen nach Wien und Wiener Neustadt. Dieser Kurzfilm zeigt den täglichen Bahnbetrieb Ende Juli 2020.
