  • I had known that there was a fairly complete 4 speed set up in a Dodge truck down at Speedway Salvage in St. Louis. One day I stopped by to confirm that it was still there and indeed it was.
So I off I went with my truck and toolbox in hand to at least pull the pedals and brackets to either sell or for a possible "someday" Dodge Truck 4 speed swap.

I have an original 1983 Dodge D150 short bed, fleet side, Metallic Bronze color, factory 4 speed (overdrive) 318 with cold air, ps, pb & it drives like a dream. I bought from the original owner 18 yrs. ago, put 100,000 miles on & now it rests in "semi permanent" storage.

Nice find! I have another yard I need to hit Chuck. Love your idea on picking up the manual trans pieces. I’m planning to convert my 68 Coronet to 4 speed and have most of what I need.
Eventually I’d like a manual trans square body myself. Don’t have a 1st gen yet but I’ll be on the lookout for a setup too, but if a nice automatic example comes along i’d have all the pieces to convert. I have big block motor mounts and a 833 transmission. Might still have a BB oil pan left too.
I’ve always wanted an early 70s Ramcharger, but would be happy with a nice regular 1st gen of any year.

It's always a good idea, it seems to me, to pick up this stuff when you see it. I just grabbed another set of cab lights, for what reason I have no idea. They just are never in the yards.
      Good luck.

Good pickin' there Chuck. Dan Brewer at Brewer's Performance will have all the little bits of hardware, etc.
that you wind up needing to complete the clutch/shifter on that rig. I've done a bunch with them over the years.
(I desperately need to do something with Fred's brakes as well, so I'll be watching on that swap too).
    Be safe,

Sure thing Ed. My buddies actually have the shift rods, levers and the shift handle for this setup. I just need to get them some time. Also I believe that I have the shifter for it as well.

I unsubscribed to DDG. Couldn't take the coffee slurping. Very knowledgeable guy though. Love watching yours. Keep them coming.

Nothing wrong with having extra 4 spd parts, just the flywheel, and bell alone was worh what you paid, and a trans core.

That's kind of the way that I see it Kevin. Of course I still have to find somewhere to store this stuff.

If that’s a 360 magnum in that truck , it might be worth grabbing the manifolds….??
