  • I was needing some parts for my 1965 Coronet and had planned a trip down to Clay Kossuth's Mopar Salvage Yard. I had known that he had more than a few Forward Look cars so I thought that this would be a good time to do a video on them. Virgil Exner created the Forward Look design, for Chrysler, which ran from 1955 to 1962.
His son Clayton is the contact point of contact if you see any parts that you are interested in. They pull all of the parts and will ship them to you.

I dig wagons too. Any kind of Mopar for sure, Vega, Pinto or VW. Don't know why but I do.

I absolutely love the styling on the 56 New Yorker. I think one would make a great hot rod cruiser. Thanks for the tour!

You're welcome Chris, you and me both. As it turns out that blue 4 door is actually a '55. I was schooled up a bit.

Hell yes Chuck, gimme some Forward Look! I've always secretly lusted after those era cars all these years,
whilst hanging with my musclecar compadres. It's gotten too late now - the few nice ones out there now
have gotten seriously expensive, so I missed the boat and with my situation, my car-building days are over.
But - if allowed to dream, make mine a '58-'59 Royal Lancer D-500, please. 🙂

Good for you, were you looking at the '56 Chrysler?

@@Chuck_House_of_Mopar yes I was. The light blue is a 55, the 56's have a different grill panel and the headlights were bigger because of being 12 volts

Yeah, I think that I knew that. I'm still learning these cars. The '56 Imperial front end resembles the '55 New Yorker to me.

Yeah we'll see, they also just closed the steel plant here in Granite City. Not good.

That 57 Imperial with single headlights is kind of rare.

Yeah it is, it's an Imperial Crown. Not sure why they cut the back end off of it.

Tail fins galore. The large tail fins on the station wagon, just looked very out of place.
