Thank you Chris! I have tried edge coat but now see that lightly sanding leaves a smoother edge.
It does. Just don’t press down on the project when you paint. Slide the sandpaper across and it should do the trick 😀

Geat video...if you are edge coating a complete strap how do you lay it down while it is still wet so it doesn't get paint everywhere?
You will have to lay it flat while it dries. If it is easier for you, maybe paint just one side at a time. I have also seen some people use wonder clips on one edge and stand it up to dry. I am always a little concerned about leaving permanent clip marks though.
Any tips for trimming rounded edges? Thank you!
I have an end punch that I purchased from Tandy. All leather stores carry them and I highly recommend getting one. tandyleather.com/products/craftool-round-end-punches

How long does it take for edge cote to dry
It takes about 20 minutes. It is n important step to wait for it to dry, sometimes I get a little impatient 😀

What about a top coat? Necessary or not??
I have never used it, I put the base coat, and then the edge paint only.
