    Rasheed Wallace for all yall youngins on here, was a tremendously skilled Power Forward, the way he played is how alot of these so called Power Forwards/Centers play the game today, he also played both ways, he could shoot, he had a face up game, post game, and he was a dog on defense, who gave you everything he had every game, took no plays off, and wanted to win no matter what, early 2000's he was easily the top 5 best power forward in the game.. Duncan, KG, Chris Webber, Sheed and Dirk.. Back when players took the game seriously, and not all this cupcake shit we got in the NBA today.. Great times in the early 2000's man

    I had an argument on another channel a few days ago about this. I felt like this was Iggy giving Sheed his flowers, but most people looked at it as hate towards Giannis. Sheed was definitely an all time talent but his mindset and play style, going back to both UNC and Simon Gratz, kept him from looking to "get his" more often. If it wasn't blasphemous to say that Sheed's talent was on par with KG and Duncan, which was a common narrative in those days, it ain't blasphemous to compare is talent to Giannis'; mind you, I'm talking talent, not game.

    Defensively he was one of the best PFs with TD, Horry, Rodman and KG. Tremendous shot blocker and fundamentally flawless.
    Offensively he had it all: left, right, more than decent handling for a big, post-up nightmare as he could fade or turnaround finishing with an extremely effective and sky high release jumper, shimmies and hooks, great leaper, excellent footwork, outside shooting. ALL.
    He didn't rack big numbers just because he was a team first guy and his main task was not necessarily to score the ball. He always had guys alogside for that.
    I.e. Hamilton stated that while he was the main scorer in that Piston team anytime they needed to generate a double team the play was to go to Sheed in the post.

    Dont sleep on his defense either. Rasheed Wallace could do it all. The Blazer runhe was a key component on both sides of the court. With Detroit along Ben Wallace he solidified that DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS mentality. He got his most deserved championship title. Dethroning the 3 time repeating champion Lakers who had a stacked team when both Kobe and Shaq were at their peak and prime.

  • @coolyungdru
    @coolyungdru Před 7 měsíci

    Rasheed Wallace was one of the most talented power forwards of all time. He was more skilled than Tim Duncan. He was a better passer, good rebounder, good post scorer and could shoot the three when big men weren’t even allowed to do so.
    However, greatness is not only about skill and talent. Mentally he just didn’t have it. He would lose focus often, one perceived bad call by the refs and he would just fall apart. The guy clearly had mental issues.
    Also, in clutch time he never took over the game even though he had the talent to do so. He would often over pass or just make dumb plays when the game was on the line.
    It became evident when he went to Detroit that he was better suited as a talented role player than the number one option. He couldn’t handle the pressure of being the alpha on a basketball team.

    People today love to mock the players of the past but yet the players of the past would do even better today. Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, T-Mac, Sheed, Hakeem etc. these guys were amazing in their time and today would cripple the league more. Steph Curry be eating the floor trying to defend Penny Hardaway

    I think a lot of PFs were great at offense(10 ft in) and rebounding. Now, you can find better RBers, but Sheed was offensive(anywhere inside the arc), INCREDIBLE 3PT shueting for a big, and a great defender. I think he's a better PF than Lucas as a Trailblazer when you add everything up, though Lucas is more well known and probably more accredited as being a great player. Then, he went on to Detroit and might have gotten 2 rings--without Big shaht Bob happening again!

    As A Laker Fan!! I never liked Sheed, because he always Cooked my Lakers No matter what team he was on! I always Thought Sheed held A grudge against L.A From that 2000 WCF game 7 Comeback 😁🤦🏾‍♂️ But As A Basketball Fan Sheed was one of my Favorite players!
    I agree the only thing that held Sheed back was Sheed his Focus his Temper his Passion was not for the weak and the NBA Never Showed love to Black Outspoken players!!
    The NBA Markets only politically Correct Talent!! Rasheed Wallace Just may be one of the all-time Underrated players Ever along with Reggie Miller & Definitely Isiah Thomas!!
    To A lower degree my Guy Latrell Sprewell is Very much underrated 💯
