    Multi month background check for a vehicle your taxes paid for while we leave X billion dollars of transport in the sandbox.....

      😂😂 then you get it home and it's missing the fording valve. Plus most of it's tubes have been cut. Not to mention the gun trucks. Tha armour has been removed and in the process of that they cut the floor and tunnel insulation.

    I bought my Humvee from Gov Planet and the description said nothing about blow by and a transmission fluid leak so I didn't really think about it. Long story short when I received the truck it had blow by and a transmission fluid leak. I documented it the day I received the truck and sent a complaint. In the mean time I drove the truck around my shop to keep it moving, fixing leaks, ect. When they got back to me (weeks later) they asked for a picture of the odometer. In their terms an conditions you can NOT drive the truck over 5 miles or else they do nothing for you regardless of the situation. I had about 8 miles on my truck so long story short they did nothing for me except for a $500 "courtesy" check which I had to fight for because they originally wanted to give me $500 for a future purchase on their site. Apparently according to the lady I spoke to they do not cover leaks regardless of miles either (yet they still tell you if the vehicles leaks on the truck description). So now I have a truck with blow by. But really long story short is if you want a Humvee you buy it from here and suffer the headaches or you buy it from some dude in your area who already suffered the same headaches and wants an additional $8000 for the truck. So no it is not a scam but just be careful when you guys receive your truck an check everything out to make sure it matches the description. If it does not match the description of the truck DO NOT DRIVE THE THING A MILE!!!!!!!

      I didn't know they would do anything to be honest. Typically, when you purchase government surplus vehicles you need to expect this type of stuff and just know you are taking a huge chance. Mine was somewhat accurate to their description but had a few other issues like a bad start box and sticking throttle.

    • @skilfulautumn4570
      @skilfulautumn4570 Před 2 lety +2

      @@Kevin24Seven I agree with that. But if the vehicle doesn't obviously match the description there should be some sort of good refund that they don't try to snake out of

    Do not take their word for condition. I bought a vehicle from Iron Planet. They said the engine could not be started. Right, it was locked up. Had a picture of the transmission controls, about six levers with vines grown over. Main shift lever was broke off. Many parts missing plus about $1800 dollars of added sales tax, fees and buyers premiums. Filed for a buyers warranty, denied but offered a $100 auction credit so they could screw me again. Bought another from GSA auctions, much better truck with no addons for only $700 more than Iron Planet.

    I really appreciate you doing these videos - I've always been interested in a surplus Humvee and your videos have kept me grounded as to what I should expect to do to get one. I'm starting to think that others may have seen your videos and not really paid attention to the parts where you try to inform people of the things they might not expect in the process - this might also be why some of the bid amounts you saw recently are so high. In any event, thanks again for these videos.

      Edit- my response was a wall of text so I shortened it lol.
      Honestly a lot of Humvee enthusiast type people get extremely offended when I bring up any of the negatives.
      Doesn't stop me though, and I really enjoy helping the new folks out and getting more normal people into the hobby with realistic expectations.

    I'm going to say no. BUT, the first Hmmwv I bought that was a beat non runner. Wired all the funds. Then about a month later with no phone call I got a check for my purchase. I called the customer service number and they said it had been sold and some how made it back to auction. I wasn't happy to say the least. I was transferred to some head of sales and he gave me a $1,000 bid credit. So the next Wednesday I bid and won a good clean complete M1123. I paid only $1,500 more for a great truck The auction are something to get use to. California to NJ shipping cost me $2,300. In June of 2021. Me not being a computer goroo it was a little intimidating sending the paperwork. But fixing the truck is easy for me.
    Can't wait to see what you get next.

    Honestly we buy our military trucks now from private sales anymore. The costs wind up being the same and often better if you shop around by the time you add in ALLL the fees, shipping costs time spent waiting and all the repairs needed .

    I got my 2018 f150 4x4 on gov planet for 11.2k. It’s my daily driver and I love it. I did have to replace the starter and exhaust, front seat and swapped wheels and tires. I had fees, but total I ended with a good running 4x4 f150 for less than 14k

    End Use Certificate (EUC) sounds more like waiting the 6-12 months for approval for buying an NFA item.

  • @niio111
    @niio111 Před 9 měsíci

    You don't ever "win" an auction until all the other bidders bow out. Overtime makes sure than anyone who wants to bid gets the opportunity, allowing for website speed and internet variability. This is pretty standard, as well as the 10-15% buyer's premium. There are government fees (like for title) as well, and they do add up. You just take this out of the amount you are willing to pay. The EUC for my HMMWV was a pain, but that was just the company getting me to fill out the form exactly as the government demands. Once submitted to the government I got approval in two days.

    The Germany here again😁✌🏽. Can you make a video please, why gov planet not offer the up armored humvees? On many photos they are seen in the background, do you have too hard laws in us or why?! And what happen to all these up armored humvees than?! I mean thats are a lot how it's shine on the background of the photos from standard humvees. ✌🏽

    • @hummerguy
      @hummerguy Před 2 lety +2

      They can't sell them due to the United States laws with armored military vehicles, the armored must be taken off and scrapped, that's why you'll see some humvees with a bunch of holes in them on the side and sometimes the whole roof cut off. The cheapest way to get armor, especially in Germany is to look for some eastern europe vehicle like a BRDM 2, OT 64, or BTR. Even the ferrets too

    The only scam about them is their guarantee, if you read the fine print is for only three days after purchase. Which means unless you go get yourself before three days are up you don't get any. I had a bad radiator which if I purchased an original was over $1,300.00 dollars. I did find an aluminum one for over $300.00. You would need to hire a lawyer maybe to over come this, I found it not worth it.
