What I would give to have more "night of the zealot" mini campaigns in arkham. I couldn't agree more.

I wonder if the "sleeping" theme of this scenario would be perfect to fit into a dream-eater campaign?
Having played it, do you think this would fit well....except for the travel to Kairo (for which I could find another reasons or ways).
I'm currently playing the dream-eaters solo, playing with 2 teams of two investigators.
You might even play this two scenarios with all four investigators right before the dream-eaters campaign....maybe as another reason why the investigators then decide to do what they do in the dream-eaters.
Or could you play one scenario with the first two investigators and the other one with the other two investigators?
Or do you know another standalone scenario pack that would fit to the dream-eaters campaign?

As usual, this was very thorough and well presented. I agree that this is an excellent way to "test the waters" for mini - campaigns.
I do hope they decide to create such a product, the community seems very likely to have a positive response to it.
Side note : you have a chance to play every night? I envy you tremendously, my friend!

I think you're right, it would almost certainly be well-received. Hopefully it comes to pass.
Thanks to solo play it's usually reasonable for me to do a game a night when I have a campaign I'm working through. I don't do that all the time, but I do it sometimes (like last week, when I ran Leo and Minh through Return to Dunwich). I have to work a little harder to get the multiplayer games in.

Man, just today I was like 10 minutes looking at this trying to decide wether to buy it or not. After this review Im going to get it for sure since looks like Ill enjoy it.
I hope as well that they release another 3 or 4 scenario campaing. 4 would seem like the best lenght, having an opening episode, two where the plot has time to develop before the fourth act. Great video as always, you deserve way more views, I always recomend your videos

Thanks. I agree, I think 4 would be a good length for a self-contained campaign. Fingers crossed, I guess.

yay! been waiting for this, your arkham revievs are the only ones I care about on youtube. other ones are mostly very amateur, with poor audio quality and non coherent presentation. please make more!

I agree, he has the best quality in terms of image, sound but also content. His comentaries about cards and scenarios are really interesting to me and you say the right amount of things in your review, what I mean by that is that his videos have the right amount of duration

Thanks; glad you are enjoying them. I'm looking forward to diving into Circle Undone soon (and trying to stay on schedule a little better than I did during FA).

    • @TheAtlasAgency
      @TheAtlasAgency  Před rokem

thanks! hate to give an unhelpful answer but all I know is "Egypt." we got the stone pyramids as gifts from some people who flew in from Egypt to attend a technical training here. no identifying marks on the bottoms. I always assumed they came from something like an airport gift shop.

Damn 0-3 on eternal slumber, played them standalone, two handed, with 9 xp ursula & ashcan and it's tough without a gun with thing in the sarcophagus and abyssal revenant with hunter.one solo game with ashcan,I got neith down to 1 health before running out of time.havent tried nights usurper yet.eternal slumber takes me me at least 2-3 hours 2 handed though.im not sure if eternal slumber is a good standalone scene because the whole lengthy 1st agenda card is a race all about getting the brotherhood vp characters and you don't really need the vp in standalone unless your playing some kind of score attack, and it's a slog, and you have to take alot the encounter deck on the chin just to make it to agenda 2.

I played this standalone three times now and I dislike it more each time I play it. "Hey, why don't we take the worst aspects of the core scenarios and TFA, and then crank up the difficulty to 11?" Ugh. I understand that sadism towards the player is pretty much a welcome feature of AH LCG, but this standalone crosses the line, creating a snowball effect where there is no going back if stuff isn't going perfectly right from the get-go. Also, the scaling of this scenarios is horrible - it's pretty much a given it's designed for 4 players, and everything below will have a much more difficult time, 3 I guess is doable, 2 nearly impossible and true solo is just asking for pain.
Apart from the theme and very few design decisions (I love the Act 3 sleepers mechanic in the first half), this standalone IMO has very few redeeming qualities and is so far the only AH LCG purchase I truly regret. I could stomach the difficulty and horrible self-balancing if the standalone offered something new or refreshing, but there is nothing here that wasn't already done (better!) in other AH LCG scenarios.
