Its also sad that "influencers" are obsessed with her and take what happened to her as a a story to profit on and want her to go on podcast, make tiktoks, etc. Then they proceeded to attack her husband's character just based off of appearances and vibes. She just got out and the world is soooo different from the last time she was "free" let her live a somewhat normal life.

I truly think she needs time to herself and get lots of therapy. The last thing she needs is to be thrown in the spotlight again, she was constantly in it as a child with her mother. She needs to step back and give herself time to heal and adjust to life now.

I wanna know why none of the doctors who treated, operated on and fed into this are getting in trouble. They removed the teeth and salivary glands of a healthy girl. They put her on hard prescription medications, just at the word of her mother. Why are they not being held accountable?
This exactly. I don’t understand either. Maybe a statute of limitations, or maybe she settled behind the scenes, with their insurance companies, who knows 🤷♀️ At the end of the day, they should have lost their medical license, but I’m sure they don’t have any consequences, other than higher insurance premiums. Doctors doing unnecessary procedures without any medical evidence it was needed, makes me sick to my stomach. I wonder how often this happens? They see numbers and dollars signs…not patients needing life saving care.
I know exactly how Gypsy could be driven to matricide. I struggled with fantasies of matricide for my entire childhood and teenage years and beyond.
I was violently sexually abused by my mother for 12 years from 4 to 16. Not one adult I ever told or begged to help stop the abuse believed me. Eventually I stopped trying to tell anyone, and the abuse continued.
My abuser still lives free to this day.
She worked in elementary schools for over a decade. My silence left her more opportunity to make new victims.
The rage and shame I have lived with has ruined many years of my life. I am finally getting help and healing now.

My mother was not so monstrous though I had my fair share of screaming matches, including when I was 7 taking care of my 2 year old sister. I had no idea her throwing up could lead to her asphyxiating and my mom said she would rather I died than my sister. My mother was treated horribly and so was her mom. I’m breaking the cycle and opting out of my own children. It’s clearly not meant to be.
I wish we could stop these people from creating more and more needless suffering.

@@sourrycherrydid you miss the part where they said no one believed them lol. besides for some people, they don't want to reopen old wounds when they're starting to heal. reporting the mother means they'll have to re-live the trauma they've been trying to heal from, which might undo all of their progress. don't blame them when you don't understand the implications of the situation

One example of such person that was said to be affected by such sickness is Debbie Mathers aka Eminem's mother, to the point that he fought against her to gain and eventually be given by a court custody of his younger brother. He even made reference to it in his 2002 song "Cleaning Out My Closet". As for Clauddine Blanchard's final resting place, it's a sewer from the toilet where her ashes ended up after being flushed down her relatives' toilet (and even they were relieved of her demise).

I live near where this happened, not a lot of crime happens, so whenever news got out, my mom wouldn't let me leave the house for a month. It was truly a terrible thing that happened to her.
Lol what. This was a completely out of left field situation, but our area is riddled with drugs, hearing gun shots on the north side is just a part of the day. We have more crime than anywhere within 3 hours of us because we're the only "city" 😂 they scared the disabled community more than anyone else because they gave them so much and they felt like they couldn't trust anyone (I did home healthcare with adults and children with disabilities that were friends with Gypsy.)

I know what Nick did is horrible but it seems so unfair he got life for killing DD even though Gypsy asked him to do so and lied to law enforcement and the court (at first) to make it seem Nick was the mastermind.

aside from this situation he’s definitely where he needs to be. he told the interrogators that he has multiple personalities and some of the personalities enjoyed what he did. he also asked Gypsy if he could SA her mom’s body. he was also previously arrested for watching adult content and touching himself in a mcdonald’s, a place where kids frequent, for 9 hours straight. i don’t think it took much convincing
The justice system always puts harsher sentences on men. Doesn’t surprise me at all.
Im scared for the people around her too. She’s been on survival mode for her entire life. As someone that’s been in a similar situation (Ms by proxy), it’s tough to get out of survival mode. This isn’t me saying it because she killed her mom. It’s because of the reason she killed her mom. If no one teaches her different now that she’s an adult, who’s to say that lying and manipulating(which is what her mother did) won’t be her instinctual response?

As someone who has suffered similar experiences as a child, I find her story very touching that she got out of that, even though it wasn’t in the best means when I was a child, my mom was addicted to prescription pills and and underwent many surgeries that she didn’t need. She suffered like that for years and she also convinced me that I had asthma and ADHD, which she got me diagnosed for both later on I found out that I have neither of them. She was also mentally abusive later on into my early teens because I had then. Moved in with my dad, but as someone who has gone through some more experiences, it’s very hard to reach out about some things, especially in the way that she was raised, and I sympathize with her.

It's insane how well documented Gypsy's nightmare of a journey was. Her mom received so many trips, $$, a house, etc. that there's tons of videos & pics. All evidence.
Crazy, twisted, & sad for everyone involved. All bc the mom had untreated severe mental issues. Esp by creating her own child physical pain& life long problems. I believe it wouldn't have been much longer that gypsy would've been gone instead of her mom. Esp if ppl were catching up w/the mom's scams & lies.

As someone with a cousin who was close to living the full GRB life if she had not been taken buy her father, I understand Gypsy and I hope she is able to over come and move on with her life in a positive way. Many people failed that girl and they also should have faced more consequences like losing their medical licenses and so forth.

i want to clarify that gypsy didnt cheat on her husband. she had a dream that her ex asked her to be with him again and so she left her current husband. her husband was disappointed that she felt that way. he then asked how long it had been since she had talked to her ex and she said it had been 3 weeks. he thought it had been way longer and was upset with her. she told him she wasnt going to talk to him again and that she is confident in marrying her current husband. its not the best situation but she didnt cheat on him.
Poor little girl, no one can imagine what life was like for her. Her mother making her sick and torturing her. So disgusting. I hope she has a wonderful life from now on.

I saw The Act series with my mom and my family. We feel bad for her and she doesn't deserve any of this. I am sad she didn't get or experience the normal free life she wanted to have. Her mother was a monster to her. I am glad her mother got what she deserved.
The family hated that the series was made and think it represented the situation dramatically and inaccurately, without addressing the harm of generational abuse that caused this situation just so you know. They asked Hulu not to make the series.

I've followed this story for a while and I side with Gypsy on this. Maybe they should have just ran away together, but she was young and probably thought she couldn't escape her otherwise. It's a sad outcome, but she spent years being abused, drugged and left in a weakened state. I couldn't imagine being in the same situation.
Edit: On a side note, Nick shouldn't be spending life in prison either. I understand he did it, but he did it at the behest of Gypsy. If Gypsy is innocent based on a abused, that unbrella should extend to Nick who loved her so much and wanted to protect her. Innocent by proxy if you will

How is everyone just skipping over the fact that these doctors just willingly listened to Gypsy's mother?? These are apparently real doctors/nurses that gave Gypsy a number treatments and medication and NOBODY is going is to do anything about it? that's the thing that worries me the most, they ALL need to be investigated.

I completely understand Gypsy Rose not wanting to watch The Act, I mean if a movie was made about my traumatic life, I wouldn't watch it, One: for the same reason that CZcamsrs don't watch their content for fun, and Two: it is probably very triggering, I mean she already has to talk about her trauma a lot and has expressed that she regrets what she caused to happen to her mother so having it all thrown back in her face would probably be a lot to handle.
“The college town of Springfield, Missouri” - grew up there, not really a college town. Metro area is about 500k people. Large population of older religious people. Third biggest city in Missouri.

I’m really happy that Gypsy is free and moved on with her life. She never deserved to spend that much or even any time locked up, in my opinion. She was a prisoner for her entire childhood and she escaped it the one true way she knew that would work. Love you Gypsy ❤
The fact they sent Gypsy to prison was utterly baffling to me. She was brutally, systemically abused by her mother for years. The psychological damage alone should have been a huge mitigating factor but what more should be expected of a "justice" system willing to execute mentally disabled people.
She suffered but I also feel for the disabled man she manipulated into helping her. He's still in prison afaik.
Yup. Life without parole. He appealed to the court arguing his representation was inadequate (and I believe it was) but the appeal was denied, so for now it looks like he’s stuck. Honestly pretty tragic - he definitely wasn’t in his right mind.
I feel for him way more than her tbh. She got out and gets to live her life after pretty much manipulating him into doing it, while he rots in prison the rest of his life. I don’t know, it just makes me sad for him

I'm surprised you decided to make a video on this honestly. Heard about her story a little while back while watching a video about Munchausen Syndrome from Wendigoon. I see both sides of the story, her perspective was that she was manipulated her whole life and didn't know what else to do to escape. She may have not had to go as far as she did, but look at how her life was up till that point.

What's crazy is I watched the entire series about this on Hulu, and then when I did more research on it after the fact I realized me and her live in the same city
I think one of the most awful things is having to get unnecessary surgery, like glands removed and ugh i just am so sad for her, But glad that as she said time in jail helped her integrate better inti society and shes very openly and articulately describing everything even the hard hitting questions. And her positive outlook on life and dealing with it on her own. Shes so mature considering she went from not being able to grow up to having to grow up in relation relatively fast.

Fun fact Stephen King had a character in the novel It that was a mother who had convinced her son that he was sick in the order of completely controlling him.
It’s so weird seeing how popular Gypsy has become. I know the person who found Dee Dee. Them opening up to me about their family’s friendship with them and the whole situation was wild. It was very eye opening. I will say not everything was made public.

I’m not exactly sure how he would have “faked” this video. Especially since I know the information he gave is accurate. I know many people who knew them and saw this entire thing unravel starting with the FB post to my friend finding Dee Dee after climbing through the open window and everything else that happened after.

@@Shark-fx8kg the cops couldn’t enter without a warrant and the door was locked. They gave him the okay to crawl through the window and unlock the door. He saw her before the cops made it in, hence him being shown in an interview room at the station answering questions. They didn’t make public knowledge that he found her first. For the longest time they stumbled around who found her when doing updates to the public. They didn’t make a lot of stuff public knowledge. But when you have a grown man tearing up describing to you in detail that day and what he found, you can’t scoff at it. He was in Mommy Dead and Dearest and refused any other interviews after that because he wasn’t allowed to speak up.
@@ahmbro42 he did tho I’ve seen multiple interviews of the man along with his wife and other neighbors of deeded he claimed in a interview he didn’t see her body he said he saw the bed was a mess and he thought he saw something but he didn’t investigate it and never saw the body unless he lied in this interview

There was a show on Hulu called The Act about this year's ago. It was so sad. She was very abused in horrific ways. It's hard to feel for the Mother IMO. Whole thing so tragic.

The fan edits and stuff on tiktok of gypsy rose now are worse than the stuff that went on after the Jeffery dahmer series with Evan Peters came out. It's messed up and idc why people romanticize or over exaggerate stuff that people have gone through just to get views and likes it's messed up. I'm pro gypsy and not ashamed of it.
