How to make a fake heart - Special FX DIY Gelatin Heart

- How to make a squishy prop heart for costumes, parties, pranks or general weirdness. This is not anatomically correct, but it's an easy inexpensive way to get the job done.
Check back later for another tutorial on using gelatin for makeup applications.
Things you'll need:
- Gelatin (can be found at most supermarkets)
- Liquid Glycerin (can be found at most major pharmacy chains)
- Water
- SFX blood
- Paper towels
- Cup
- Popsicle stick/tongue depressor/something disposable like to stir with
- Measuring cups
- Seran wrap
- A freezer and/or a house in Antarctica
This is not the only ratio or way to mix SFX gelatin, this is just the way I have found to work best for me.
1 part gelatin, 1 part glycerin, 1.5 parts water
This whole thing should cost you less than $10, so for all you Halloweeners on a budget out there......

**And if you're wondering why the heart looks brighter in the thumbnail and picture, it's because there's a light behind it. This fancy thing is semi-transparent too.

First starting at 100,000 views is actually really good. Older CZcamsrs have a lot of views because there were less of them in like 2010 and stuff. So that's why Shane Dawson and friends have a ton of subscribers.

CheshireCat 1015 the verification doesn't have much to do with how many subs you have. It's when CZcams decides to do it. I have seen people with as little as 25,000 subs with a verification check and people with over a 500,000 subs who still haven't got theirs.

is glycerine basically the throat stuff? Not sure where to buy it in the UK :s
Iwonderifthisis It's used for various things but in the US I see it most in the skincare aisle of drug stores/pharmacies. If you can't find it in stores, I'm sure you can order it online though! Just make sure you're finding the liquid form because they also make glycerin pills and that's not whatcha need.

***** It doesn't matter. Vegans and vegeterians do not use anything that comes from an animal, like leather or hair and gelatin is made from animal byproducts, I think pig skin! So think about this next time you're eating Jello! :P

I NEED HELP. If I covered my whole face/neck in gelatine (something like Mykie's Lana Zombie look) and it came in contact with water, would the gelatine come off?
Elizabeth Sugg it shouldn't come off unless it really hot water that will melt it. Also if it's like completely submerged under water it will probably get goopy a little bit. But if it's just like splashes of not not super hot water you should be fine. Hope this helped even tho you probably got the answer by now.
Can I put fake blood or food colouring or something in it before I freeze it so it'l be reddish black without getting it all messy?
I'm sure you could put food coloring in the water before you put the water in, but probably not the fake blood because it might change the consistency. So if you want it bloody you probably should put some fake blood on there. c:

Your welcome :). Powder food colorings might be more vibrant/opaque so that's also something you could use in the water possibly.

I tried us using flavoured jello and it won't mix correctly :( it isn't becoming like a syrup like consistency- it's just staying a liquid
