- Owner traded in a running quad plus money for this non running Rincon. Turns out, it didn't have spark due to a lot of electrical issues. However, that was just the tip of the iceberg for this poor Honda!

Appreciate the video I also have a Rincon it’s a 2009 ,680 . Bought used , good price . He had the same thing wrong with it . He was Handy tried his best but became a time thing . So needless to say, I bought her ;even with a new spare fuel pump. After buying started small relays fuses wiring and what have ya……. Let’s just say she is a BEAST ! She will go IN the River and through the woods and skip grandmas house . But I did just get her up and running by wiring directly to pump and put my own relay in on and switched it . Not what I wanted to do . But she runs and has ran for awhile . I really appreciate your videos and will def reallocate my repair job. Thank You !!
Outstanding troubleshooting! You look and sound like a very honest man. God Bless You
Yes please keep us up dated on the Rincon. As you mentioned the Rincon live a poor life, it’s a shame. I absolutely really appreciate my 2003 Rincon, I bought it new. I picked it up August of 2002 21 years.
Great video Jason. Please keep us updated on the Rincon.
It’s pronounced “Ren-Con” not Rhyn-Con. Like the Rincon Mountains.
Hi do you know if my atv will start if the timing jump having a hard time getting it started

How many KMS or Miles did it have.
Hey man, how did you remove the back rack? I’m having issues getting mine off
Just have to follow all the supports down to we’re they bolt on. Think there are 6 total if I remember.
Oiga amigo saludos desde guadalagara mexico tengo una rincon q no puedo arregla arroga la falla 18 en el chek q podria ser 🙏🙏
I’m curious which wires out of stator are for ckp? I have no start issue and believe this is my issue..
The green and blue/yellow wires are for the CKP and the three solid yellow are the stator.
Does that old Ariens snowblower still run ? I’ve got a 1970 6hp one. Still runs great. Lots of use in central Ontario. 🇨🇦
He got it up and running for a customer. I don’t think it needed too much.
I did. Just needed to clean the carb and replace the o-ring in the fuel shut off besides changing the fluids and it fired right up!
I have a 2007 680 Rincon. It stalls out and Dies when it gets Heated up. I replaced the Cdi,Fuel Pump,Air Filter,Spark Plug New Oil and New Gas. Tightened the Battery Cables and All of the Fuses are good as well. It only dies after it Heats up. Do you know what this could possibly Be?
Valves could do that. Check your clearances. If they are to tight then the valve won’t properly close as it heats and the metal expands so you loos compression. That would be something you could check by doing a compression test cold then once it dies and won’t start check it again. And see if the compression is down. Could also be a stator going bad. Next time it dies see if it still has spark if you hadn’t all ready checked that.
@@AppalachianMountainRiders Thanks for Replying Back, I'll definitely check those things out.
Who would've cross wired the fuel pump, I understood it was a new replacement one !
what did the smoke turn to be? gasket?
The owner didn’t have the money at this time for me to look into it further so it’s unknown.
At 7:05 Did you pull TWO spark plugs??? to check for spark and smell for fuel?
Yep. The 680 is a single cylinder but with dual spark plugs for that one cylinder for more efficient combustion!
@@AppalachianMountainRiders I just got a 07 680 this past weekend and have been tinkering with getting it running, i guess i need to locate that second plug, i only saw the one on top
The Rincon 650 I know didn’t have dual plugs but maybe the 680 didn’t either at first. The one I worked on in the vid was a 13’ so yours is a bit older.
@@AppalachianMountainRiders I just checked the parts breakdown, the 680 didnt have dual plugs in the early years. Makes more since now haha.
How many KMS or Miles on that Bike.
It’s been a bit since I had it but I’m thinking around 3,000miles
why doesn’t my neutral light turn on?
Does the engine crank when you press the starter button? If it does then, probably the LED light blown (at a guess), but if it doesn't crank in neutral and is dead then, first check your battery terminals are tight, but you possibly might discover that your neutral safety switch needs replacing.
I have a rincon that needs fixed. Where are you located?
Curwensville Pennsylvania
@@AppalachianMountainRiders that's too far. I'm from Wisconsin.
@@AppalachianMountainRiders I bought this Rincon from my dad for $350 not running. Has 2500 miles on it. He said my nieces ride it and then he couldn't get it started. What I found out, the starter is junk, the reduction gear is grinding. I pulled it and it fired for a few seconds then died. I pulled it some more and pull cord broke.
What ended up being the smoke 💨 issue?
I am inclined to say piston rings right off the bat. Poor maintenance and abuse is what does that.
Unknown. The customer declined me looking into it any further.
Ah ok what have you determined
Should of said this girl to fire up
Nightmare job. Cant make money on junk like this.
Why are you yelling. We can hear you
Probably going deaf
And never give one throttle when cranking cold. Use the choke. All you’re doing is flooding it.
It’s fuel injected
