    “My belly,” looks down, “[…] I didn’t grow a six pack, but-“ had me laughing out loud. Great thorough video, I appreciate the information, very valuable stuff I am going to adopt such as the Kaplan quick sheets. Currently in between phase 2 and 3 so glad to see I am on the right track. Thank you.

    IM SO BEYOND HAPPY IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HATES ANKI. Do you have any tips for approaching passages? With b/b passages specifically, I’ve been struggling to keep track of all the pathways they give and the specifics of different types of lab techniques

    Hi Divyam. Great video! I had a question about CARS. What strategies do you use to actively read a CARS passage in order to get the most out of it before moving on to questions? I heard different pieces of advice from people and test prep companies, but I wanna hear your authentic advice since you scored a 132

    • @divyamgoel2863
      @divyamgoel2863  Před rokem +7

      Hello, sorry for the delay. My tips for CARS are as follows. And keep in mind this is what worked for me, and I was a philosophy major in college which did give me an advantage because the vast majority of my coursework was based on reading different types of texts and literature.
      1. Keep your background knowledge away. Cars passages deal with a variety of topics, and you may come across a passage talking about a topic that you have in depth knowledge on. However, remembers that anyone reading a cars passage is given enough info from the passage alone to answer the questions regardless of their background knowledge on the subject. Your background knowledge and what you know about the topic may actually interfere with answering questions because it will direct you to an answer that the passage doesn't agree with, and remember correct answers in cars are purely based on the passage.
      2. While reading the passage, make all efforts to put yourself in the shoes of the author who is writing the passage and pretend you agree with them on everything they are saying. For the five or six questions that relate to that passage, pretend you are the author and try to think of everything on the subject matter from the point of view of the author and the opinions they hold that you read in the passage.
      3. Avoid using tools like the highlighter. My logic is that, if you are highlighting everything that is important, you will basically end up highlighting the entire passage. I have seen people do that, they are taking a practice exam and literally 90% of the passages highlighted. They highlighted line by line as they were reading, and that extra few seconds it takes adds up quickly and is a waste of time in my opinion
      4. A lot of people are used to drawing pathways during the biology and biochem sections on their notepad to help them visualize. What's going on. Try using the same strategy for the cars passages. While you were reading, make brief notes, connecting main ideas. I think this is a much better use of time than highlighting
      Hope this helps

      Thanks a lot Divyam!
      Do you have any tips on how to read long and/or convoluted sentences without overloading your short term memory? It's hard for me to understand what the author is trying to tell me.

    Hey! Just curious, after content review, what did you score on your full lengths, in particular the blue print half length?

    • @divyamgoel2863
      @divyamgoel2863  Před 11 měsíci

      My BP half length was a 508 right after finishing content review in the sciences. I hadn't reviewed any P/S yet. My highest AAMC FL was a 518, but as I say in the video I was not doing a good job with taking them in a test like environment and I only had noisy, distracting places to take my test unfortunately.
