keep in mind , taking the metal out of Korra wonât instantly solve all her problems. A lot of people tend to hate on her for still being weak after but they forget ptsd doesnât just disappear, it takes time.
Yeah. Korra suffered both physically AND mentally. And itâs gonna take steps towards both for her to truly and fully recover. Plus thereâs the fact that she hasnât fought properly in 3 years. So she was bound to be rusty until she got her stride back then simply taking the poison out of her body.

On paper they were both supposively singular entities but in reality they were basically a loose federation of nation/starsystems with there own autonomy, governance, and armies (such as the trade federations droid armies). And the systems/âprincesâ would debate on laws on there respective entities as a whole but they would also war and be on each otherâs throats. And there Emperor/chancellor are elected by the senate/elected council for leadership rather then public vote. Palpatine did the equivalent of centralizing the empire and removed any autonomy of all of the princes.
Fun fact: One of the dance moves from the prince's scene early in the episode is from Beyonce's "Girls rule the world" dance. And right after Kuvira takes over. So It was a foreshadowing Beyonce reference lol

Kuvira has some good points. The last few kings and queens nearly destroyed her home, the Earth Kingdom, and she saved it from falling apart. But, not everyone makes a good ruler, and there is an apt saying: take the throne to act and the throne shall act on you. She may still see herself as a hero, but her subjects and peers do not.
BTW, probably already mentioned, but Kuvira is voiced by Zelda, Robbin Williamâs daughter.
Yeah, the monarchy hasn't done themselves much favors in terms of self image, maybe if Prince Wu had actually been there at the start of their whole Earth Kingdom restoration project and gave the feeling of a future ruler who actually cared about the people, then she might have been willing to actually support him the way she originally wanted to support Su in taking the reigns of the Earth Kingdom.
The people of the Earth Empire mostly sees Kuvira as a hero. It's just that the other world leaders who have a problem with her

Yea Kuvira did step up, but I never supported her. She detained people who weren't of EK origin, which is a bit racist and even Opal said she enslaves locals from the towns she's conquered. She gave me major Ozai vibes from the militaristic dictatorship, technologically advanced army, to insatiable power hungry.

In âThe Swampâ when Aang found Appa and Momo through the vines, they gave him a visualization of where they were and what was happening. But Toph is blind, so do the vines give her a visual as well? If they do, no wonder she stayed in the swamp. Imagine seeing your kids for the first time ever, seeing ANYTHING for the first time, like damn.

Aang had to learn how powerful he really is: fighting a volcano by himself, becoming one with the spirits to stop an entire navy fleet and stopping a firelord who was at his most powerful
Korra: had to be humiliated to learn that she is still a person, had her bending taking away to learn a new element, had all of her past lives stripped away to learn by herself, overcome her ptsd
As Aang said when she is at her lowest low then she can accept the change or something like that

And it isn't like Prince Wu's behavior is doing anything to help convince anyone that he should be in charge. For people like Bolin who have only seen the side of Kuvira where she takes down bandits, ships food and materials to towns that need it (after they agree to her terms), and generally put down the chaos that Zaheer initiated, she would seem like a god send.

Korra is not trash. They literally nerfed her every season. Sheâs a good fighter as we seen multiple times and then they always nerf her just or keep it interesting. She beating Tarrlok, oh blood bender; she beating Vaatu, oh Bolin and mako canât hold back Unalaq so he cheap shots her and now she gotta fight a op ass waterbender who was her TEACHER and with an OP spirit fusion to boost his powers. She beating Zaheer but she poisoned and it starts really bodying her as soon as she about to two piece him. They stay giving Korra Lâs bc otherwise yâall call her a Mary Sue and swear sheâs too OP.

In S1 she a hotheaded, cocky teenager who finds out her sheltered life isnât how the world actually works in the hardest ways, in S2 she founds out that not even blood can have your back when he literally manipulates her and her eagerness to actually do her job and screws her out of her previous exp, S3 literally told her your actions good or bad have consequences and those consequences can have the worst outcomes, and this is all while being told consistently that the world doesnât need the avatar. Something sheâs put her entire identity in. Korra having PTSD is the most realistic thing they couldâve done and all yâall calling her week just means yâall have no depth perception.

They took her in and have kept her in because since she was young, she was always at risk being kidnapped by the red lotus. She didnât get to explore the world and itâs people until she was 17. Then she dealt with all these back to back conflicts and had to grow up and make complicated decisions all the while growing up in an era where the Avatar wasnât appreciated as before.
So how is that all being handed in a silver platter?
Agree, shes one of the best Avatars, ppl still sour about the Avatar cycle being destroyed but dont know that Aang messed up his connection temp in the comic because he thought the old avatars views dont reflect the modern world Yangchen fixed it tho. also the Avatar cycle is full of avatar giving advice to the next one mainly about their trials and mistakes, Korra will be more useful to the next because of experience and having bending abilities that the past didnt ex. metal and spirit bending also each of her villians was similair to the old Avatar foes. ex. Thing is though...Kuvira is not essentially wrong. Look at the past earth rulers, one was a figure head at best, one was a tyrant who kidnapped and enslaved, and now the next is but a spoiled kid? Obviously Kuvira knows the earth kingdom's becoming the butt of it's own joke, and it's true they need better leadership. However she's obtaining that leadership through force.
Aaaand, there's also the fact that she owns prison camps, performs ethnic cleansing, and invaded another nation.

Book 4 is very similar to the time of Chin the Great in Kyoshi's time. Both Kuvira and Chin wanted to "unite" the Earth Kingdom but turned into ruthless dictators and were both stopped by the Avatar in a devastating way towards the very last piece of land they wanted :3

@@SupportGamin2024 Ravaa's energy is working overtime to get her energy and keep her alive which only works because it's only a few grams left.
Everyone keeps calling Korra trash for losing the connection to the past lives and being unable to go into the avatar state, but the same things literally happened with Aang. If you wanna call one out, you have to call the other out. Especially in the comics, where I'm pretty sure Aang WILLINGLY severed his connections to the past lives, unlike what happened with Korra.

I'm so tired of Lupa calling Korra trash. She had a completely different set of obstacles as Aang..she also didn't travel w 3 master benders (they were technically masters by book 3) plus other extremely strong masters by his side. The world she inherited was vastly different from the world of atla. We have no clue how Aang would've been in the same situations..being poisoned, the red lotus (who were literally created due to the white lotus helping Aang), he didn't deal w family betrayal or harmonic convergence. I feel like everyone compares them when you can't due that.. their paths are not the same.

I actually think Kuvira is not a big opponent against Korra. This season is about Korra vs Korra. Yes, kuviera is a great master, but she is not Zaheer or Unalaq, OR Vaatu. You can see that korra can beat Kuvira in the avatar state, but Korra couldnt against Zaheer or Unalaq. Itâs like you put Korra vs the fire lord, Korra can beat the fire lord in one second.
With Avatar State (in control) Korra would definitive beat Zaheer. With Unalaq depends if he is with Vaatu or not.

Tbh kuvira really has a good point. The earth kingdom was corrupt and trash for hundreds of years. She put in a ton of work to fix things and did unite the earth kingdom

They weren't in the actual royal palace, they were in "Little Ba Sing Se". So like, Little China. Still just a quarter in Republic City, that evidently has a Royal Palace themed restaurant.
Calling Kuvira a dictator is such a simplistic way at looking at her character and governance. All the leaders are basically "dictators." The Fire nation and Water tribe are still following hereditary rule, and their power is absolute. What actually best describes Kuvira is a nationalist, where the strength and wellbeing of the nation is put above the individual. But just like the other 3 books, the theme of extreme ideology ultimately creates problems for the people. That is the main theme of the Korra series. To paraphrase Toph, Amon wanted equality for all, Unalaq brought back the spirits, and Zaheer wanted ultimate freedom. Problem is they were out of balance and took it too far, as did with Kuvira who wanted absolute order.
I think the Southern Water Tribe elects their leaders.

People are too harsh on Korra. The way she is written is pretty realistic compared to how Aang was.
While Korra acts more like a real young girl would act with all the Avatar responsabilities she has, Aang and his friends were just a bunch of kids that somehow not just survived every battle but also saved the world. I dont care how good Aang was, Korra struggle is way more believable.
