    He’s only 23 and playing like he’s already in his prime. If he isnt in his prime now and there is an extra gear that he can hit, its going to be a scary sight for teams across the league. And the craziest thing about it is that I do believe his game can improve. But i think whats even scarier is that i truly believe that he will be able to sustain this level of production for years to come. Even past his physical prime. His game relies so little on athleticism that it’s not hard to imagine him being a 35 year old veteran still doing crazy numbers as his already elite mechanics, IQ and feel of the game continue to sharpen.
    Luka to me is truly a one of a kind player. I dont think we’ve ever seen a player dominate with this level of poise and maturity so early on in their career. Usually young superstars have to rely on using their physical strength and explosiveness to make a name for themselves but Luka has essentially created a new blueprint for newcomers.

    I'm surprised nobody in these videos name what's probably Luka's main offensive asset: Footwork. Dude doesn't give any more steps than what's needed for any given move, has an economy of movement than more than compensates for his size and less innate athleticism when compared with other (on paper) much more athletic guys. He's incredible in his fundamentals and that, alongside with his obvious court vision and BBall IQ is where the rest of his offensive game is built upon. None of what's pointed in this video would be possible for him to do if he didn't have the footwork he has.

    luka trains/prepares in a manner that accounts for help def and making a read based on lead or help defender; alot of guys spend years working in beating the initial defender/lead defender, but their handle/creation/iq/etc doesnt account for help def or traps... so by the time they start adjusting or trying to adjust its too late and it taks 2-5 yrs to consistently improve decision making vision etc

    Helps you can't touch a player above the 3 line. I'm also guessing he's extremely strong for his age much like lebron. Look he he runs through contact especially at the rim. It offsets his athleticism and speed. To be that strong so young is amazing

    Luka biggest weakness is emotional. He gives low effort sometimes when things dont go his way. And his technicals. But amazing play. So smart.

    It's pretty facinating because I'm been looking at the numbers and he's putting up numbers that are super elite. He doesn't (to me) look all that gifter just watching his play, compared to say Jordan which just watching him play you knew he was just different from everyone else. I used to call him cat slick, because his timing was like a cat playing amounds dogs. Luca looks just like one of the dogs, but his results are up there with Jordan, and I would never have though that was possible. Let's see if he can maintain that level for 15 years.

    good video, but i think you forget to mention his ability to shoot the ball, i mean his stepback is not like hardens but pretty good also. as a defender you always have to keep that in mind. makes it even harder to guard him.

    Something I don’t understand is that if you have to go against someone who doesn’t relax and is Always prepared and playing good defense, how do you prepare. Ik you said at time like 3:30 that you know where you are going and the defender doesn’t so you can use that to be a step ahead but if you aren’t as athletic or explosive, which is pretty much the point I think, shouldn’t the defender be able to catch up.

    I noticed in this video alot of players in the league make alot of mistakes on defense . They don't get low when going over screens , bigs stand straight up when he's attacking down hill and alot of the help comes late . Not beating him to the spots he is trying to get ect.

      @MrMarcomarazzi Před rokem

      Yeah...you just noticed that in NBA, apart from playoffs, players do not really defend...we do it muuuuch more in Europe, but I guess in the US it is not encouraged since it would limit a lot spectacularity.

    It’s pretty simple actually. If you leave him open for 3 he makes it so you have to get up close. Being close allows him to fake you out and makes other defenders have to help on defense. When they come w help someone’s wide open and Luka is a willing passer always looking for teammates. He’s a triple threat with the height to get shots off on almost anyone.

      Just imagine this - if Clippers didn't take Morris during the free agency chances are Mavs might've blown by the Clippers.
      Ofcourse they acquired Burke themselves but still, Mavs have 3 injured players and 1 not in the bubble, that's being 4 players short and STILL giving headaches to the favourites to win the whole thing
      Kinda reminds on the story of Pistol Pete, ofc not that close to the last shot but still 🤔😃
