Public rift in Israel war cabinet signals ‘turning point’: Analysis

- Akiva Eldar, a political analyst and contributor to Israeli news outlet Haaretz, told Al Jazeera he believes the recent public disagreements between Israel’s leadership signal a “turning point”.
Eldar said that Israeli Defense Minister Gallant’s public criticism of PM Netanyahu exposes a rift that “comes from the heart of the Likud party”.
On Wednesday, Gallant said he was opposed to the Israeli military taking control or responsibility for the governance of Gaza.
Gantz, another war cabinet member, came out in support of Gallant following the comments.

I have always said the only way to get Israel to be reasonable is when they also lose many people. Imagine Israel loses one person for every two Palestinians, they would have made deals long before now. In that sense, the US arming of Israel to dominate its neighbours is unhelpful to Israel’s long term peace and security.
Israel is such a great place to live : economic prosperity, no racism , equal rights for all, no mass thieves of property or land, no mass exodus due to safety purposes, no apartheid, 100% freedom of speech, great president and prime minister with 0 protestors on the street, really an economy that doesn’t need foreign aid.
