Israel's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his ally US president Joe Biden have rejected the ICC chief prosecutor's bid to secure an arrest warrant for the Israeli leader. Netanyahu unleashed a personal attack, comparing the prosecutor to judges in Nazi Germany. Biden also called the warrant bid "outrageous". Interestingly, the US president had supported the ICC's decision to issue an arrest warrant for Russian president Vladimir Putin over his war in Ukraine. Biden had called that decision "justified" and "making a strong point". Though the US does not recognise the ICC's jurisdiction, it is helping the court's investigation into Russian war crimes in Ukraine. What explains Biden's double standard on the ICC?
