- Former Nigerian President Obasanjo said the Western democratic system of government has failed in Nigeria. He argued that the system only recognised the views of a few members of society, who serve as representatives of the people, rather than the entire population.
Obasanjo advocated for “Afro Democracy,” saying Western Liberal Democracy has to be modified to suit the peculiarities of the African people

Don't think so even though he is not among the recycled leaders (Tinubu, Atiku and Obi) Nigerians are dying for. Nigerians need to study people they want as their leader. Sowore was an activist, we need him on that platform. Dele Farotimi was an activist before he joined Obi as a politician. Now his content has changed, his fight has changed. The best thing for Nigeria right now is probably going back to the regional system. We’ve tried these crap (the state system) and it didn’t work.
It’s led to a decay in Nigeria’s institutions from ground to the top. Even tinubu who is staying at the top know rigged his way there and he is even more corrupt than the others, seeing how you diverted 23% of Lagos taxes to your pockets during your Lagos governance.
Just take it back to the regional system, let every region grow, let the leaders be closer to the people. Let’s have the Hausa leaders live in plateau, where people are being ki!!ed and see if they would not improve it. After almost getting ki!!ed 3 times or the Yoruba leaders in ekiti, where multiple traditional leaders have been ki!!ed, same for the Igbos in Igbo land. We need to bring the leaders close to the reality of average men and women.
