Finally! A install video with limited/ STi headlights. 👍 Just wish you showed where you tied up the drivers. I was gonna put them in the housing, but don't want to have to reopen the headlight to replace if they fail.
Leave them outside of the housing, the drivers get HOT, zip tie them to the sides of the headlight brackets that are metal 🔥
dude. u inspire me doing DIY. u make thing so simple. i might do this myself instead of buying aftermarket headlights. i just hope u had showcase what it looks like after.

Great job. Going to do this soon. My advice is spend the extra dollar and use heat shrink tubing. Electrical tape comes off over time.
100% normally i use heat shrink but seems like i always lose it or use it all

Ok question for you my running lights are my high beams how do I get these as my running lights and turn off the high beams bc you don’t go into detail on how to get everything to work from factory I have led high beams but I’ve been told to just unplug them and I don’t want to have to plug them in every time I want to use them?

Smeedia my C Lights are not working for some reason what do you think it can be? I didn’t connect the little pop clip connector thingy. It’s a 2017 wrx. Everything works besides the turn signals

Hey, was wondering if you’ve ever opened up and modded a set of spec d’s for 06/07? I wanna update the dlr led strip cause I got mine second hand and don’t want them to crap out asap on me but it’s hard to find any dlr updates. And what kinda adhesive you use to reseal cause it seems top notch. Thanks
I have and I never recomened it. The only lights I prefer opening are OEM. Any aftermarket set is made from cheap materials and always prone to leaking after opened
About to tackle this project this coming weekend my main concern is the wiring to get DRL function on a WRX non-LED headlight. Do I need a harness or tap into some wires? Don’t really wanna cut into the factory wires if it can be helped.

I believe that I have the same C-Light kit installed on my 2015 STI, but the high beams still act as the DTRL simultaneously with the C-Light kit. Is there a separate harness that I require for the C-Light kit to act as the DTRL on its own?
There is a brown plug behind thr bumper on thr oaddanger side, unplug that and your highbeams will no longer be your DRLs 🙏

@@Smeedia will this make the stock "clight" in 2015-2017's act as the DRL? also would that make a light appear on the gauge cluster for it being unplugged? another question, if i were to not take out that LED in the headlight and install a c-light on top of it, would i have any issues? really dont wanna have any new lights on my gauge cluster...

did you use painters tape to avoid painting the chrome in your c-light?
No, because thr new lights are LED I just painted over the old reflection area

Your correct, but they use diffusion to light the "Clight" and not an LED Strip so the Diode dynamics is a switchback full LED board va 1 led light

I don't think they make C lights for that car. But technically yes. The 2018 inpreza uses a diffrent type of adhesive called perma seal though

i got it working! soldered to the wires that was connected the LED modules. 9:01 you mentioned it in your video.

I am asking because in europe we also dont have the bulb on the side, and I´d love to do it on my Levorg (they are the same lights) but I am too afraid of messing it up. did you need to make any other adjustments to it ? using any of the attached modules? how about the brigtness, was the LED module able to power the whole strip ?
@@miroslavhajduk1797hey man, i just soldered it to the LED module cables, works perfectly fine powers up the whole LED. had to drill a little hole for the cable to come out, coz we don’t have that extra bulb. you could check out this other youtubers video spencer hoggs c-light installation, he is using the factory LED cables, however i didn’t follow his instructions with cutting a hole on the rubber grummet. (that’s probably a really bad idea, for moisture to get into the headlights) just follow Smeedia, get both the LED cables and the C light cable coming out via the same hole you just drilled and block it up with the sealant thing. good luck man, putting everything together was the most difficult.
@@miroslavhajduk1797 oh one last thing and you probably need some extra cables soldered on to extend the factory LED ones. unless u want to do what Spencer-Hogg did.
You don’t need to adhere the c light or attach it to anything? Just let the lens hold it in?

@@Smeedia they werent hard at all, only thing that sucked was the previous owner mustve opened them before and did a piss poor job of resealing them. Idk what seal it was but it was white and still wet ... Fixed it tho. Painted black to look like the sport edition and replaced the drl woth LED strip for brighter day runners and turn signals! Was actually pretty fun lol thanks, for the shout out on the live yesterday 👍
Glad it went smoothly! And thats actually the OEM seal, they're pretty garbage seals from subaru 😅🙏

my passenger side drl went out but the switchback function still works for emergency lights and turn signal. Any ideas on a fix for this?

Yesz the Impreza lights are perma sealed shut, much more difficult to get open. Aside from that it's similar

You'll need the DRL harness, it will plug into red wire off of the C light harness 🙏
When you use the DRL harness.... will it turn off the high beam as DRL and use the C light instead?? I hate the high beam being DRL
