In this clip, Doug Williams opens up about being one of the final three actors to audition for the lead role in "Juwanna Mann." He explained that Miguel Nunez was brought in at the last minute for a screen test with him and Flex Alexander, and Doug said that Miguel was killing the audition. When Miguel ultimately got the role, Doug said that he thought about the film being tied to his legacy, and he realized that he was glad he didn't get the role. From there, Doug addressed Miguel's recent arrest for allegedly stealing groceries. When Doug revealed that he spoke to Miguel about the situation and revealed that Miguel said it was because he took the groceries because the line was too long and he went back the following day to pay for them, Vlad called him out. I directed the movie: here is the real deal. The part was first offered to Cuba Gooding. We could not settle on a deal. He wanted $4 million - we offered $2.5 with bumps based on box office performance. He said no. Then it was offered to Duane Martin who turned us down after quite a few discussions. Frustrated - I was at the driving range one afternoon hitting golf balls. I met Miguel Nunez who was hitting next to me. Recognizing him I asked him to send me his reel. It was on my desk at the Warner Bros lot 9am next day. The final screen test was Flex, Mark from Hanging With Mr. Cooper and Miguel. I fought for Miguel because of his acting chops. Oh - and Hill Harper tried but Miguel beat him out, too. That is how it went down. And that’s the truth Baby Ruth 😊
