Before/After Time Lapse Remodel Home Restoration Renovation Preservation Historic Home Victorian Home This Old House Magnolia HGTV DIY How To Laine Berry Kevin Berry
This lady shines! She displays the rare combination of a great salesperson and art historian. As she examines things in detail, an infectious enthusiasm emanates from her deep knowledge of period styles and details.
yes, she knows the business.
I love her passion and her videos.
How is this show not on hgtv? Love it so much!
Thank you Michelle!!
Because people are weird and love shiplap 🙃🙃 This one and the current Rehab Addict Rescue would be my FAVES!!!!!
Because hgtv is all about that chip and joanna gaines show. I can't stand that show.
HGTV is a sham.
When you showed that top floor my mind was blown.
yes, what a home!
When you first showed the unfinished space on the third floor, my first thought was “ballroom”. Then, you showed us the actual ballroom!! Wowee!!! Stunning home!
I still want the ballroom 😂😂 But I also love the air bnb idea too!!
Why would the ballroom be on the third floor though? Shouldn’t it be downstairs where the guests are ? That would be a hell of a trek to the ballroom wouldnt it?
@@LucasFernandez-fk8se That’s usually where they are located in these large mansions. Idk why, but that is often the case.
Downtown Huntsville has a lot of homes like these. I love them too. Love old homes and their history,. Can you imagine the wonderful stories this house could tell if walls could talk.
@@alexbryson4277 no but it sure sounds good.
The ballroom is bigger than my house 😂
Omg this is literally like a step back home. That central stair in the entry is probably one of the most prominent feature in early 20th century homes in baltimore. It was so comforting to see that
You need to wear a sweater that doesn't have holes.
Wow, what a treasure. It sure would be fun to see the house after it’s completely restored and furnished. Thanks so much. That was a real, treat.
so stunning!!! I can just imagine parties being held in this home , ladies and gentleman coming down that staircase!!!! ladies gathered in hives with champagne in hand catching up on the latest gossip!!! and can we just give a hug to that staircase OMG YESSSSSSSSSSSS
You’re actually knowledgeable! So refreshing compared to other channel’s mindless commenting in their house tour videos
Should be a HGTV show, I love her voice and her passion!
Laine, as usual you killed it. Always love watching your tours, you are such a natural on film. I'm still hoping you guys get offered a show that lets you be yourselves, you Laine would be an instant HGTV superstar! 🌟
My eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw that attic space!
Absolutely LOVE your home tours, Laine and Kevin!!! Y’all are so thorough yet no drawn out and boring!!!! Some major HGTV stars could learn a thing or two from y’all!!! Laine...you are the GREATEST Southern hostess. Really enjoy watching your CZcams videos as much as I enjoy your Instagram stories!!!

The Barrow House & Gardens of Louisburg
Thank you Dorothy! You’re the sweetest.
Wow!! I’m blown way! That house is absolutely gorgeous!! But one thing, where’s the dining room? Could it possibly be where the gentlemen’s parlor is ? I love that house!
That "sitting" room off the master bedroom should be one huge closet. You can sill use it as a sitting / dressing room and maybe take in part of it to expand the bath with a big jetted tub and enclosed toilet room. A period correct chandelier would look good in the grand closet and a smaller one over the tub.
You need to slow down your panning just a little bit because you can't see the details. It's a little blurry. Thank you. This is the kind of house you want to see the details on :)
I know right? I was getting dizzy
Slow the video down.
I haven't seen fast panning. Her husband's camera skills are pretty darn great. I took notice this episode. He pans a bit before landing on her to speak and always shows what she's talking about. This is professional level.
I guess she might not like those wallpapers, but I love them and those green curtains would totally make a great Scarlett O'Hara dress.
Right I was like I love this. I wouldn't change much. Fixer upper? This is super nice
"I saw it in the window and I just had to have it," - The Carol Burnet Show "Went with the Wind"
@@pengwenh8938 That was the absolute funniest skit I had ever seen. When she came out with the curtain rod on her shoulders... The talent in that was just amazing.
Oh, my yes! :)
Hi from Australia, such beautiful historic homesteads. So much intricate detail. Makes me want to move to the U. S. A. The sale price of this property in Australia would only buy you a very modest single story 3 bedroom home. Love your channel.
Laine. Love that entry stairway and sunroom landing. Such beautiful windows throughout, and great spaces. Lots of roof angles in upstairs spaces are not my favorite, which makes the upstairs spaces of this home a big win! And I love the wonderful light fixtures and fireplaces. And all of the items that need restoring are the fun finish work items. You can't buy a doorknob in my area of California for the low price of that home. Thanks for the 1st class tour.
This home is an absolute dream!
I would live on the landing to; I can see my 10ft Christmas tree 🎄
Lol, that’s exactly what I was thinking.
You could place a large one and 2 small ones on either side...
Would really be festive then....
A clean kitchen is a wonder indication of a loved home!
Thank you for being so interesting while showing these historical homes! 👏👏💓
that 80s drape is Austrian Drapery , and it was used for years, I did see it used in the 60s and 70s. Lovely home
Bet it had amazing period cabinetry and butlers pantry before that kitchen remodel. My heart is screaming why??
SAAAMMEEE
we have our butler's pantry and I just cant bring myself to get rid of it. kitchen is big enough
I some times avoid old home restoration videos for this very reason... my heart just can't handle it.
I teared up at the staircase (I've had a hard day) but omg I'm in love 😭
Little Rock has such lovely, diverse styles of homes.
Manuel Bonilla
Wow, the house is just enormous! Love the sun rooms and the French doors a lot 😍
I actually love the wallpaper in all the rooms. The only thing I would do is refinish some of the floors.
One word. WOW! This place is fantastic!! The things one could do with this gorgeous house. I hope the owners will fix it up with good taste.
This home is absolutely stunning as is! There is a lot of mainly cosmetic updates, changes. The enthusiasm that they both have and show for these old properties are amazing! It's so infectious, that it helps me keep my enthusiasm for my little 1650 sq ft 1930 brick two story home. I wish that they were on HGTV or DIY network. I would totally watch them. Rehab Addict and Restored gave me a love of old homes.
Thank you Chani. Maybe someday you'll see us on tv, but until then, we'll keep on making videos and saving houses!
That wedding cake chandelier could be 1940-41. I had one, smaller, but the same style, c 1941. Kevin, thank you for showing the door hardware! Great house.
I used to drive by this house everyday going to school.
Beautiful home! "New" style for me in a home but have seen county buildings this style! Gorgeous!
Wow, that 1st house was amazing.
I my wow I pass by this neighborhood every day I love this historical neighborhood
@@alexbryson4277 no
What a house, love it. Best houses are old houses with some fixing up and updating. Solid structure.
Fixer-upper or not, you can barely get a small three bedroom semi-detached 30s home for half a million where I live in the U.K. INCREDIBLE!!
This house is what my dreams are made of!!!!
What a gorgeous home, except for that kitchen. That space at the top of the landing and the fireplaces are amazing. The attic space definitely has potential. I wish I had 3/4 of a million to buy and restore it.
Your knowledge of architectural design and history is amazing!
The first French doors are my favorite 😍
The only thing that could make this more amazing would be to not have any neighbors! 🤪
The neighbor to this house is the governor’s mansion.
I agree
Why is that so? 😂
You're always going to have neighbors unless you live in an isolated rural area that's far from everything. You can't live within five seconds to shops and restaurants and have no neighbors in a 500 mile radius, sweetie.
Like in the middle of a ten acre field, lol.
I love the house and fell in love the second I saw that staircase. I'm confused though, considering the size, why such a tine kitchen and no dining room? That 2nd bedroom would definitely become a dressing room/ sitting area. The stuff dreams are made of!
Ha! I used to live on Center in the cathedral just down the street. Beautiful neighborhood!!!!!
Those apartments are to die for!!!
Wow thank you for a peek at this amazing house. I hope that whoever does purchase this property- treats it with the respect it deserves. ♥️
Great Tour!
Wow. Fabulous job! What a great home to show and you made me want it!!!!
Another fantastic video! It's like watching a TV show. LOVE IT!!
Omgoodness be still my heart that attic!!!!! I'm dying! ❤❤❤ And that staircase and landing! Wow! What a beauty!!! Thank you for sharing!!! 💖💜💖
Nope 😁
When restoring a classic house to actually live in, compromises must be made for kitchens and bathrooms, but that kitchen just screams at everything else. Period-appropriate cabinetry and disguised appliances would be worth the investment. Making the house energy-efficient without damage would be challenging, especially with the beveled-glass windows, but it could be done. The gentleman's parlor would probably become the dining room, and the rest of the layout is workable. Using the top floor for B&B units is a clever idea, but having strangers trooping through the house is not appealing, and having a separate entrance/stairway doesn't seem feasible, and that may be a concern for a fire inspector.
This place has many unspoiled original features, and someone with deep pockets could make it into a showplace for gracious living. I hope that happens.
Update....sold
I love this house just the way it is! I wouldn't change a thing. The price is perfect! I ❤ this home.
Wow, great home and thanks for the walk through! I’m thinking 3rd floor could be a yoga studio
I want it so bad!!💞💞💞Thank you for sharing it. I've been thinking of moving back closer to my family. U make it so much fun to look!💞💞
I don't mind the curtains and Wall paper I think they are beautiful. The house is beautiful also
Sheeash! I dig that ballroom! So nice!
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful historic home with us! It is absolutely stunning! Whenever I see homes like this I always can't help but wonder who the original owners were and what their lives were like on a daily basis.
Although Victorian Gothic is more my style, this house is really impressive.
Edited to add that when I saw the ballroom, first thought was party room. Which is odd because I hate parties.
Maybe we are the same person because Victorian gothic is my fav too and I hate parties too haha
Stunning! It’s worth alone for the last floor space!
All I could imagine on that third floor was an indoor playground for our kids! 😁 Phenomenal house!
I had no idea that Little Rock Arkansas have so many historical homes n there all so beautiful. This one you showed was amazing for that price. My fear is someone will buy it n tear everything historical part of the home. I’ve never seen wooden floors with that size planks. They were so narrow.
Good idea for the attic. It would be perfect at what you mentioned .
I hope whoever buys this place will keep the the original as much as possible except if definitely do the kitchen over. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍
They haven't yet, but she mentioned an Air BnB my heart almost stopped.
Really appreciating the slow go thru so you can soak in all the detail..
LOVE THE KITCHEN!!!! I want a kitchen like that.
Absolutely beautiful home, whoever buys it should restore those fireplaces and floors the woodwork and chandeliers are amazing!
Wow love the window in the bathroom.
I LOVE OLD HISTORIC HOMES
Me to 🤗🤗🤗
The Greek columns are so nice and the landing space is gorgeous.
Magnificent ! Unlimited potential !
You know, it seems that someone out there will be snapping this up and making it a dream-come-true again! Will y'all be able to keep in touch with it and bring us an update if and when it is sold and restored? I surely hope so...Heaven is made of dreams like this!! 😁❤️🥰
I wish...Oh this house is amazing.
Thanks for pointing out the governor's mansion. I recall that it was used as Susanne Sugarbaker's home in "Designing Women".
Best show in the history of ever!
That attic would be an amazing master suit.
Imagine having a theater up there
I love this mansion and watching her restoration homes.
That is a lot of house! I love the master bathroom and wouldn’t change a thing except to, maybe, put in a more period style vanity. The price is so cheap in comparison to houses in Australia where the asking price would buy a small one or two bedroom townhouse. This house would cost in the millions. It would a dream come true to live in a period home like this - just gorgeous even with the improvements required. 💕🥰
The ballroom was massive. Definitely needs refinished just for the heating budget alone. I would honestly make that area the living area and do the air b&b in the lower section; just to keep people from traipsing through private quarters. This is a such a beautiful example and I'm not surprised that is it already sold - and for $100k less than I expected.
I love this show and wouldn’t change a thing ❤️💕
love this home
It would be so amazing too have another walk through tour after the current owners complete her renovation. Especially that attic space. Laine, can you make that happen? pleease
The price of that house is a steal! It’s in much better shape than many of the houses you have reviewed.
I'd move right in and be happy. It is move in ready enough for my tastes. So beautiful. I'd jump on an opportunity like that except where it is located. I long for an old home to restore on many acres so I can have a little homestead. Then eventually I would like to host guests on my property as a little country getaway.
Oh man, I remember that kitchen wallpaper! Love the staircase!
Who says a ballroom is "waste of space"? Everyone needs a ballroom! Best exercise in the world!
This is a gardener's dream with that summer room!
My entire house would fit inside 1/2 of that top floor.
Kudos on your architectural knowledge.
This is a magnificent home. Just judging from the video, it appears to be structurally sound. It looks like everything that it needs is basically aesthetic other than the unfinished spaces that can be whatever the new owners want to make of them!
Dang! I wish I lived in the south! I live in the boring old west coast. Boring! You have so much history over there and gorgeous old historic homes! I'm going to be a Southern Belle in my next life.
That ballroom deserves a much bigger stairway. Very enjoyable video.
Air B&B my foot! Master bedroom!
I can get on board with that!!!
Ok
I love it it’s beautiful 🤩
More more more. I love your show
Beautiful home!
Can yall do a short video on keeping old windows and not updating? I've tried explaining this to people, but I feel I do it very poorly...and my heart BREAKS seeing these old windows torn out 😭😭😭
We actually have one in the much earlier videos!
@@laineeden of course you already thought of that!!! I'll search through, ty ty ty!!!
It’s “save the windows, save the world”
She is an outstanding presenter.
And that attic would be my master bedroom and the kids can have the bottom 2 floors 😂
Because I’m curious I just checked abs this house sold for 385000 this month (July 2021). Was listed as 4 bedroom 3 bath. I would really love to see what the new owners do with it (especially the kitchen)!!!
I was adding up the cost to reno in my mind...100 to 150k, not too bad actually for the size of this place! I love it so much!
Gentleman parlor my ass!!!! this whole house is mine... No men allowed.... Boyfriend is gonna have to deal with it lol
Issa lady's parlor now beech 😂.
@@dannyboii9117 you know it, gentleman to the kitchen, ladies.. can you say, I'll have another!!!
My meditation room! No gentlemen allowed!
@@lizdelisle1912 exactly!!! I can also see that room used for meditation or just a spiritually quiet place
This comment made my night 🤣🤣
Oh my, I hope so,one does NOT “ completely restore” that upstairs master and bath! Gorgeous. It needs a pedestal sink and a paint job in the bathroom, and some beautiful, period correct fixtures, and that’s about it. In the bedroom, I’d just take off the curtains and rip out the carpets, and paint. Gorgeous! This could be made into a great wedding venue, and I see the bride and her party staying the night before, and getting ready in the morning in that space. Add another bathroom and you’re set.
I would restore the ballroom and use it as a dance studio! I would kill to do ballet in that room! 😍
I hope you cover more homes in Little Rock.
We have a couple more planned😀
