- Jon Kabat Zinn talks about the life-changing benefits of mindfulness at an Action for Happiness event in London on 28 March 2013 www.actionforhappiness.org. The introduction to this talk and the subsequent Q&A session can be found in separate videos.
Thank you for changing my life for the better!
This man is truly a hero of our time.
I think if we could payed more attention to this gentleman...We could make A seismic shift in our thinking about making this world A better place...
Please take this into our educational system before it's too late
From the Highlands of Scotland
Jon , thank you. Mindfulness has made a tremendous impact on all aspects of my life.
How is there 58 thumbs down?? This guy is amazing ...
Doesn't this amazing gentleman speak to your 'heart' on many levels...!!!
One of the most brilliant talk I ever heard, thank you for sharing this
He is the daddy. Such humility and kindness. Such intellect, wisdom and vision. Sit. Feast.
The flow of this talk is incredible. His linguistic skill is amazing.
Articulated with precision, clarity, humour, and humility. My favourite anti-guru.
47 thumbs down? Wtf I suppose there’s no hope for some people - one of the true greats of our time...
Great video. What I liked is his totally naturalistic view. There is no supernatural stuff here, just science and common sense (and mindfulness, of course).
A similar talk I heard last Sunday mentioned in passing, early on, it taking 10,000 lives to reach (something, I can't remember what exactly), which turned me straight off.
I agree. I don't like when I'm listening to a talk or reading a book and they start talking about supernatural mumbo-jumbo.
Jon is my absolute favourite teacher of mindfulness; I love how he brings a sense of humour to his talks. I love him
Karma is different stuff than invoking 10,000 lives. Karma just means, things cause other things. That's the basis of modern science.
Jon your voice and poems are so soothing I can fall asleep with your clips like a gentle meditation, then wake and press replay ☮️❣️ ⚔️❤️⚔️
Jon is the Best of the Best. I salute you Jon, your Awesome Gift to the World!
This man has been my hero since the early 1990's
Now you can be your own hero too ❣️ ⚔️❤️⚔️
Could this guy being any cooler. I love Jon Kabat-Zinn
Wonderful time spent listening to your wise words.
19:22 We can actually put out the welcome mat for whatever arrives...
... When we rest the awareness in the present moment there's no time anymore...
19:54 ... It's simply Now. Check your watch it's Now again...👐💓💓💞
That was really interesting. It made me realise how little time i spend in the present. My thoughts often seem to be focused on the past, or on the future.
thank you , very inspiring
💕💫rmy deepest Gratitude to Jon Kabat-Zinn.
My hero!
Jon is inspirational. Angela
Loved the poetry.
Thank you.
What a lovely man.
always interesting to listen to...
A beautiful man.
Me too!
33:59. "Any of you 22 or younger in this audience? Just one? Well, you get the prize, man. Terrific. You go, guy. You go." lol.
So while meditating, and after I got an uncomfortable thought, which I had today, my body contracted then put my attention back to my breathing. Is that how it suppose to work?
Yes, as your mind wanders, you will eventually notice it. Come back to the breath (or whatever else is in the present moment).
but dont fight any negative thoughts. they are onlyn thought forms. play the jon kabat zinn guided sitting meditation on you tube
"Youth is wasted on the young"
-George Bernard Shaw
Anyone manage to not judge the woman on the iphone at the beginning?
Feeling the breath is fine but how about feeling the lack of it or feeling the emptiness instead of sensations ??
I think the Buddhists focus on “ The Void” the emptiness. I think you could focus on it a Although Jon doesn’t make reference to the space between the thoughts
easily would've been the youngest adult there if i did go in march :L
