- Welcome back!
So once again I have got to tackle another common XE issue that has struck my particular car!
The reverse camera blue screen of death!
I was fairly certain that it was the optical cable that was at fault as the radio unit would still power the camera up when selecting reverse so I picked up a genuine jaguar repair cable which are super cheap and worth tackling yourself!
The camera optical cable part number T4N10305
Unfortunately the eBay seller seems to have ran out of stock but this website had the cable however is an extra £10 making it £25 instead of the £15 I payed: parts.jaguarla...

Thank you for all of your Jag videos. Because of them I could do a full service, change the brakes and the exhaust damper. You really helped me out. Greetings from Germany
Thanks for watching! 🇩🇪
I’m glad they helped and hope you have a good time in the jag!
Massive Thank You! Watching and following your guide step by step as well as reading the comments allowed me to fix my Mum's Car!!! Cables were cut and a fuse blown
Glad to help 😄 well done for getting it fixed!
Nice one buddy, top job, pulling interior to find wiring is a pig of a job, 👌🏼
Good video. Will try this myself. Many thanks. Love from Scotland, X.
My xe camera stopped working. But the cable was completely severed in a section where the loom was bending on a Xmas tree wire clip just after the boot hinge arm. I had to get rid of the cable clip completely and then solder the snapped ends back together. Been fine since.
Mate you're a legend!!
Thank you 😀
Another great video.
Thank you 😎
Have you thought of retrofitting the wing mirrors to be power folding at all? I've found somewhere online that fits them for £600 but was wondering if I could save myself some pennies and do it myself. Probably be out of my skill level but worth a try 😂
To be honest not something I had thought about, I reckon it’s probably easy to do as I’d assume the loom would already be there it would need to be coded and the wing mirrors changing then some one telling the car it now has them, just a guess tho 😄
@@TrackAndBeyond thanks for the reply, might be a bit out of my league that one haha
I hope changing the camera won't be as difficult.
in my case the image from the camera has become very blurry so I figure I'd try replacing the camera.
If it’s blurry it’s probably just the outer case, as they get condensation inside
I have an error "camera system fault". I have tried to replace the optical cable, but reverse camera is still not working and error persists. Looks like the cable is fine, but I am not quite sure what else can cause this issue
The loom in the boot can also end up with breaks in the cables. Unfortunately this will be a case of removing the outer protective stuff and checking each individual cable
Thanks for the video. I have 2012 xf portfolio . I replaced the trunk loom and my camera and trunk still won't operate . Any idea where to look. They went out about the same time
Strange one as thought they shared the same loom to be honest, unless there’s another issue related to the release maybe
@@TrackAndBeyond , it might be the loom behind this one . More parts lol. I'll keep you posted
The electrics on a car are a wonderful innovation BUT boy o boy are they a pain in the backside when they malfunction!!🙄🙄
Couldn’t agree more!
Hello, thanks for your video. How you find the brown cable video part number T4N10305 ? Because I think I have to change the other cable arriving to the camera. The alimentation cable with the black connector. And I don't find the part number to order one. Regards.
Thank you so much!
Has anyone managed to find the overlay cable to purchase? It seems to be out of stock everywhere :(
No I can’t seem to find one anywhere now!
@@TrackAndBeyond no worries! Thanks for checking. I've saved a bunch on watch lists and will buy one when it becomes available.
Great to know how to fix the blue screen, do you have the original Jaguar part number as I could not find the mentioned link
I will try find the part number through some old posts and will post it here if I can find it. Sadly it doesn’t appear to be sold anywhere at the moment not sure why!!
where can I get the optical cable for 17 jaguar xe in your video
Bought mine online, seem to be more difficult to get hold of
How did the rear view camera wire broke?
Wear and tear with the boot opening and closing
You got a blue screen, mine is flickering green... Is this the same issue or ... Thanks mate
Could well be 😬
Hi, great video. Me brown coax cable has been severed. Is this repairable or does it need a nreplacement as per the video. Do you happen to know what the part number is as well please. Thank you very much
If it’s severed then 100% new cable. I have out the link to the product in the video description but I’ll share it here too 😄

@@TrackAndBeyond Thank you so much and appreciate the quick reply! Thanks, Phil
No worries 😄
You need a new one. I tried fixing the coax twice. I felt super good about the repair of the wire. But then after a million hours I tuned car on and NOTHIN!!! I have a new camera and the car is just sitting there with carnage in the boot/rear seats!! I need that cable!
Ridiculous job . My loacal dealer wants to sell me the whole rear harness. They are so dumb. I literally explained that it not part of that ridiculous tentacle of a harness. They are so shitty sometimes
Any chance you could send a new web link for that wiring loom please? Many thanks.
Hey pal, iv just tried to search for it online and I can’t find it anywhere! Might have to be a trip to the dealers to get it now bud. Sorry about that.
Jason
Can I ask what the suspension is like on yours/others xe mine seems ok on normal roads but the damping of bumps feels very hard
Mine felt ok never had any complaints to be honest
Thanks for the reply 👍
I need that cable!!
Seems quite a few people lately and can’t seem to find them listed anywhere at the moment!
Rear subframe is what I’m looking for, treatment
Rusty rear subframe?
Hi how do I turn off my AEB light as it comes on each time I drive it this does not effect how the car drives
That’s related to the camera above the rear view camera. When I had the windscreen changed it fussed this fault had to have a second genuine windscreen and it fixed it. The camera could need calibrating
@@TrackAndBeyond hi
Thanks for getting back
I’ve gone into the settings and cancelled it but after a few miles it comes on then goes off and on.
Is the car safe to drive or do I need to get it into the garage
Thanks for your help
Yea cad is safe to drive AEB is autonomous emergency breaking so it helps if you get to close to the car in front and will break for you et c
@@TrackAndBeyond many thanks
I was panicking I just paid 5 grand out as a few of the sensors went down and the clutch at the same time
Crikey! That’s a lot of money. Out of interest what sensors where replaced?
Hello, is that possible 2 add a camera in my jag xe? It came with the sensors but not with camera as well the mirrors don't fold when I close the car, do you know where can I by the pieces? Thank you
My mirrors didn’t fold either and I’m not sure if they can be retrofitted as I never looked. As far as I know the look for the camera should be in there so you could potentially add the camera but would need coding
@@TrackAndBeyond thank you
Gewat video. Do you know ow if it is possible to retro fit a camera to an xe that does not have one fitted?
Not sure to be honest bud I would take a look and see if the loom is in place first of all. If it is then it might be a case of installing one and getting it coded in
I have had an aftermarket camera fitted by a local auto electrician as well as a charging pad for my phone. Not expensive and very useful.
Also had an android car play system fitted not perfect but of value to me,
