  • Creating your dream home is one thing - and keeping it clean is another! In this video I will show you the easiest and BEST way to get marks off your walls without taking the paint off with it! The struggle is real people!!! ;) Method starts at 1:50. 😊
    Modern matte-finish paint / “flat paint” seems to mark so easily, and the paint WILL come off if you attempt to use a magic eraser or rubbing alcohol! Use my simple trick to clean those pesky scuff marks, pencil marks, marks from toys and more off your walls without taking the paint off too.

    This worked like a charm! I penciled off measurements for hanging a coat rack, then couldn't find the eraser that usually does the trick. This was distinctly better. I found that using circular or back & for movements worked better than up & down motions. I also just put toothpaste on a the moisented, soft, white crocheted rag I was using and it came off just as well, I think because of the crocheted texture. As Grunfeld below mentioned, it leaves a nice minty fresh scent, lol! I'll forever use this tip. Thank you!

      I think it probably would, I don't have any grey walls so I can't test it out, so just test it on your wall in an inconspicuous area first, wipe it clean and wait for it to dry to make sure it's all good before you try the middle of your wall! I would love to hear how it goes!! 😊

    We have a textured wall , i don't know how to explain but its very rough ( german apartment). I am not able to clean pencil and color pencil marks. I tried toothpaste before and bakng soda also but it tends to change color a bit in the wall and still looks like a wet spot. If anyone has any tips, please share. I am desperately looking for all possible ways.

      Wow, that sounds really difficult! We have a product in Australia called "Gumption" - it would be worth trying if you can find it, or maybe you have something similar in Germany? It's a paste-like cleaning product and it comes in a tub, you scoop some out with a cloth and rub it over the stain, usually works really well. Just make sure you test a small inconspicuous area first. I hope that helps, or that you can find another solution! 😊

      Hi, Eucalyptus oil is usually great for removing sticky residue, but I'm not sure how it would go on the walls, you would definitely want to test it first in a place that can't be seen easily to make sure it won't stain...do you have matte finish paint or satin (slightly shiny) paint?

      If it’s a semi-gloss you should be able to use a hair dryer for a about a min while gently removing it with a something plastic to scrape it off (plastic knife, plastic paint scraper)

    Does it matter which type of toothpaste to use or to avoid?

    • @HamptonYourHouse
      @HamptonYourHouse  Před 4 lety

      That's a great question. I have only used Colgate toothpaste on the walls, I would say use a good quality basic toothpaste, probably without additional things in it for whitening etc. Let me know how it goes! 😊

    If you keep scrubbing it it will you not eventually scrape off some of the paint?

    • @HamptonYourHouse
      @HamptonYourHouse  Před 2 lety

      I guess, like with anything, if you keep scrubbing, yes it would eventually damage the paint. 😂 That's why I recommend you go carefully and test in an inconspicuous corner first if you're concerned. All the best with your wall-cleaning! 😊

      @HamptonYourHouse  Před 3 lety

      What is the mark you have on your black walls? If you're going to try it I would test in a spot that is not easily seen first, and scrub very carefully. But this is really more for light coloured walls. Let me know how it goes! 😊

    Does this work in walls that are not white? Or does this not affect the colour?

    • @HamptonYourHouse
      @HamptonYourHouse  Před 3 lety +1

      It really depends on how thin your paint is and how hard you scrub the wall. If the paint is really thin it could come off even just with water and a cloth if you scrub it, but if it's good quality, it should work just fine. The best idea if you're concerned is to test it first in an inconspicuous spot, just to make sure. Hope that helps! 😊
