Robin was so robbed of an Oscar for Forrest Gump. She gave a heart wrenching performance- so much depth.
Her performance was so unbelievably powerful, just reading or hearing "Forest Gump" brings up all the devastating emotions as if I'd just watched it the first time. And I'm definitely not alone 💜 She absolutely deserved that Oscar, and yet it would still fall short of capturing the magnitude of Robin Wright's performance as Jenny.
She wasn't even in it for too long but she made the character so memorable ❤

I'm Brazilian and the line "Run Forrest, Run!" became a "meme" here! We'd often say that, either to kids, when they were racing each other and challenging themselves, or among adults about a situation we'd better get out of quickly ☺!

In the U.S people do use that too but not often . When i was 13 or 14 I lived two houses down from a Jamaican family , and one night I was in a complete frenzy, running down the street. And I will never foget hearing a group of them chant "Run, Forrest, RUN."
I thought my boyfriend had either just been shot or had just shot somebody, so it was horrible, but they didn't know that. So I guess the phrase is used in alot of places🤷♀️ .
@@Nellbae Oh, I'm sorry about this scary experience. Yeah, it seems it became famous worldwide. It's not said as much here anymore, I guess cause new generations don't know it, but it was definitely very common at the time. Glad everything was ok in the end for you!

In the mid to late 90s, I had friends named Forest and Jenny! They dated for years and were expected to get married, but it didn't work out......to this day I'm good friends with Forest and his wife and he's just as amazing and just as kind as Forest Gump! My friends Jenny and Forest looked like the movie characters! He would even wear striped polo shirts and tan pants.......
I can totally picture Forrest Gump's dance. lol

I started watching Robin on Santa Barbara and met her at one of fab club events. I had written her letters and she had written back, so when I met her I said “I know you meet a lot of people, but we’ve written letters back and forth.” Robin said “What’s your name?” And when I said happily, “I know you!” I have some great pictures of us together

I saw Forrest Gump when it came out, and I thought the little girl version of Jenny was absolutely stunning and I didn't understand why they would pick someone like Robin Wright who wasn't even attractive, or why they would choose such a stunning little girl if that's what she was supposed to turn into. To this day, I still don't understand why they did that
