Brian is so happy here
Great group of the 70 s
I love all eras of Sweet
I like this song very, very much
It was better in the "outtakes CD" IMHO.
Oh, how badly we need these happy songs these times... I know it's not easy, but try to stay strong and positive everyone!!!
🎶🌞🌈💞🌈🌞🎶
@Ana Maria Quiroga Happy New Year from Austria/Europe, dear Ana Maria...
🍀🎉🎈💞🎈🎉🍀

Wer hört die alten Sweet Songs noch 2024 ❤🎉❤
How young and innocent they where in this early video. The short good times still ahead. Kind of sad seeing this already knowing how it ended up.
I LOVE THESE MEN ! & I MISS THEM !
Why can’t music be like this now and forever…
I was born in 02, but I enjoy this kind of music more than any others
I really miss these days. It seems EVERY song was great.
It seems so because they were.
@@flory.9598 Well said 👏 I was 15 😉
I was 14 then and always be a fan of the band. Even now when I'm 65!
In quei trmpi, quanto ero spensierata , e quanto l'ho ballata!
I grew up with the British super groups dominating the airwaves - sounds just as great today as it did back then !!!!
So true
2023, still loving this song.
I was -10 years old.
Nearly same age
Without any doubt this song is his major success.
Steve Priest, may he rest in peace. He gave us so much joy for so long.
Silas Mamer
It was through your comment that I found out Steve had died.
I am just heartbroken.
What a voice.
May he rest in peace.
Kate in Ireland.
Not just Steve the band did.
Someone on 1 of these videos said "Rest in Priest" ... I thought that was nice.
@Singh I know you weren't and it is funny.
I only found out yesterday I wasn't alive when they were at there peak but I listened to their music on a record player in the 80s I'm still listening to them in 2020 on CD and you tube 😊.
Started working on a time machine to go back to 1972...
This song was at #1 position in the Dutch top40 at the day I was born.
Always gives me a smile this song..
We used to dance the samba to this song.
listen to sweet's songs, it's a band that deceives, they made all kinds of music
First sign of Mick’s drumstick twirling 😊😊😊
This song ALWAYS pops into my head. Now, first listen for at least 50 years. 🙂
I enjoy this song at the age of 60 as much as i did at age 11 when it was in charts
Me to.. Born 61 here 👍
Wish I was 60 again I would change one thing and I wouldn't have a messed up right arm
61 years old checking in!
@@lisamcbride8921 Me too now since January
59 and just love it.
Rest in peace Steve Priest. We will remember your crazy bass line in this song!
I love ❤❤❤❤❤ this band 😊😊😊😊😊😊😂😂😂😂 sorry the ones are not with us no more rest in peace there music lives on some may listen 2 it and enjoy forever amen 🙏
I first listened to Ballroom Blitz with 8 years old. Then grew up with the more heavy side of Sweet. I think they are the reason I got mad for Heavy Metal!
They will always be one of my beloved bands!
This makes you wanna have a party. BBQ, tiki torches, Pina Coladas ... you just want to forget your troubles and have fun.
My mum liked this band already in the 70s before i was born but i had not heard this song until they played it on the radio about a year ago, it is a nice one. My son likes it too so i guess we are 3 generations that likes it now. :)
They were so incredibly good and very talented. Their harmonies were something special.
The good old days.i love it
This song makes me smile!
😊
Me to. I remember this song vaguely from when I was little. It does make one happy and puts a smile on your face.
Me too Its My birthday tomorrow
Makes me smile then
Long time .tears in a eye
Indeed the most underrated band EVER!!!!
Practically all of their songs were hits in the 70s, underrated?
Most people these days have no idea how much Sweet influenced many other top bands, including Queen.
Mick Tucker was the man! Fantastic drummer!
Couldn't agree more
So cool and understated .... seemed like a nice guy from the comments on here ... RIP Mick
Especially on Cockroach ... that drumming is epic, classic, down right naaaaaaaaaassssty!! That is my favorite track. If they ever get in to the RRHOF, THIS song should be why - masterpiece right here!!
ooooooooh yes,RIP.
Way ahead of his time. Man with the Golden Arm was and still is amazing to listen to.
They look sooo young!
"So, you guys are Glam, Hard Rock, Bubblegum or Progressive?"
Sweet: Yes!
Brilliant.
And Regge
Add Punk Rock as well.
y Funky
The whole BAND has FUN here!
Macht immer wieder gute Laune
Loving the 70’s clothes.......if only we could freeze time ....maybe one day ah🤔
My Heros on my youth!!!
What a track,,MICK TUCKER,,BRIAN CONNOLLY,,,R..I..P
Dam skipped tracks 😂😂😂😂
Meine Lieblingsband in den 70er..
*Happy birthday, Brian!* ❤
love these songs, makes me happy , wish we all lived like this again. Even though we have an economic collapse now.
Steve Priest's facial expressions are hilarious.
They are! He's a very animated guy when he's playing, esp on stuff like Blockbuster.
Sweet doesn't have a bad song
Period
So true, love them all
TRUE :)
I raise you "Chop Chop"
Limbo tribute.so ever fun and happy THE SWEET.BRYAN .MICK AND COMPANY.
BRIAN
Let the party begin olofsson🥸
Use to love this song in the 70s my favorite
As a typical American rock radio kid of the 70s, I loved Ballroom Blitz and Fox on the Run but never knew until 2019 how incredibly diverse these guys were!! I'm amazed the rest of their songs didn't get a lot more airplay.
For diversity check out their album track/b side title "some one will" just don't play it in church or with kids around 🎉
Alot better musicians than a lot of people them credit for
There was Little Willie , & AC DC Made it on to radio ,Desolation Boulavard Has To Be My Favorite album but More Than Anything ,, THESE GUYS WERE AWESOME LIVE ! NO ONE TAKES THEIR PLACE FOR ME .
One of many great hits by one of the most under rated bands of all time . Love the way they went through at least four key changes upwards keeping the happiness of the song . Just brilliant !
My The Sweet forever and ever.....🎵🎼🎶🎤🎸💕💖💕💜💚
Stimmt? 9.2.1997 war er verstorben das sind 20 Jahre.
Hallo, Ihr Lieben.
LG!
Brian is smooth as silk!!
The memories.
is it only my opinion or the voice of Brian Connolly here sounds just adorable?
There’s no words I’m in heaven, that’s beautiful Brian, and superb sweet 🍬
He had a great sing voice could sing anything.
@@michaelmckenna7109 He sure could, bless his heart ....
I’ve always thought Brian Connolly and David Cassidy had similar style voices... and I mean that as a compliment.
Less forced than other further songs...
Nobody could do a smirk quite like Steve
The Sweet had great music, always made me happy, thanks sweet guys xx
skit på dej!
Music from my birth year!!! Very nice and very seventies!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Brian is just such a delight to watch, a good front man, with a awesome voice. RIP
Sweet such a great Band❤❤❤😀😀😀🙂🙂🙂
Damn Good Music. I still love the 70's. 👍👍👍👍
Yeah it was a great time, i saw them 2 times and never forget it...
Stay safe
Love Brian forever 💖
Many times when I'm stressed I like to listen to Sweet and I calm down. :-)
Bravo ! You got it ! " Hey, Poppa Joe ” does have a therapeutic effect (and meaning). This hit is actually more alive today than when it was when created for _that_ generation. 3jun19
@@OlgaLasVegas I agree with you❤❤❤❤❤❤This song is just perfect to cheer you up when you're down!!!
I agree with you 100%.
Coco does that for me ..... mellows you right out.
Feeling young again, when I listening to this one.♥️🍃💃🍃♥️
RIP Steve 💔💔
The artistry and expertise of the entire music never cease to amaze me. May the souls rest in perfect peace 🙏
i Hope They Are So Very Happy Now ! i Love & Miss Them . & ARTISTRY IS A BEAUTIFUL WAY TO SAY IT !
This is the first time I've heard this song, and I'm 58. WTF, I've been missing it all these years.
If you look at Steve Priests bass-playing on this song you see a really talented guy in action
It's soooo hot!!🥵🥵
Trex
Yeah, a really talented guy in action pretending to play bass.
Steve didn't play the bass on this
@@sverkeren Just because they weren't allowed to play on the early songs doesn't mean they couldn't. Obviously they had to play them at live concerts. Watching them live at Musikladen proves they could play anything they wanted, and had excellent skills.
And to think these guys did some of the heaviest metal this planet's ever known...
Milo X they were the gateway drug to heavy metal.😊
Bullshit. They had heavier B sides but they just copied from Purple/Zeppelin and it wasn't metal.
milo - yes for some reason the switched from calypso to glam rock - they then had bigger hits though so maybe that was why.
So underrated band. Sad that Brian had so hard with his own life and mind😥
Cert were very underrated. Brian was never the same after he got that kicking that's when the drinking and heavy smoking really started .
What great fun! These boys had so many different styles it can be bemusing at times. Filming in a force 8 gale was a bit different, too. Calypso Connolly sounds very sweetly in my ears.👍
RIP Steve Priest, great glam rock entertainer and musician!
Auch mein Schwarm
Brian. Conelly🤗
Beautiful music from an era where I think it was happier I wish I had lived at that time today music is a commercial and sexual garbage impossible to hear thanks to God these true and wonderful musicians left us this as a legacy and thanks
you´re 100% RIGHT long live glamrock ! ! !
A tune from my childhood !
Pip Williams on guitar. Great song. Cheers!
The Sweet had their sound licks look stolen by just about every rock band of that era. Most underrated band of the 70's. Miss them
Me too mate !
I miss them too... Brian Connolly has always been the perfect performer for me. Well, thank God they were in our lives. They were and still are.
I grew up in the 70s, in Singapore listening to this song on Sweet’s vinyl album. I remember this one, Funny Funny and Wig Wam Bam
Much like many young guys who want to be famous, and be in a band, in many cases, it has its pitfalls, RIP to 3 from the 4.
This song makes me happy every time
Me too
It is such a fun song.
Stimmt 👍❤️🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵
Music of the Heaven.
Love this one Sweet at thier best
Beautiful and sweet memories
Brian could sing the telephone directory and it would still sound good. He's sadly missed.
Never gets old #2020
Yes! Yes! Thank You!
One of the BEST Rock Groups from the 1970s
❤❤❤Summer feeling 💜💜💜
I remember as a 13 yr old running around and dancing to this, also had the Sweet greatest hits LP and this was my favourite, great memories....
.
Light blue vinyl record, called HIGH TENSION. Thanks to that vinyl and my dear dad, I discovered this wonderful song. he listened to it there around the year 79/80 approximately.😍😍😍
My childhood, loved Sweet. Had a crush on Mick Tucker 😍
I still do! Mick is fine! ♥️😻
Just woke up and this song played in my head. I think i need to change my medication.
great memories of my childhood!!
Best group of the 70’s,,R.I,P, Brian and Mick ,,
Why have I not heard this song before? This should be a summer anthem, played more in movies...etc. Definitely has a Good tropical/summer vibe. Dig It!
Thank you Brian! 😍
Beach, fun song, beautiful and talented men -SWEET is always the original !!! How is it like ! 🏝 🏖 🌞 🎉 🎉😎🎶🎸 🎸 🎤🥁💖💜💛💕
The Sweer have definitely left behind a very fabulous and diverse body if work. Culminating into turning into a magnificent hard rock band.
Best pop glamour band of the seventees! 👍🏼🤟🏽
Simply awesome..they always bring the sunshine..☀🎸
Cool man
Great Sweet!!!
The guy playing steel pan is my friend, Miguel Barradas. A great player who went on to have a really fine career- some of it, I'm lucky to say, with me!
What a great claim to fame!
It'd be nice to see his name in the credits on the video. OK, so he wasn't a full-time member of the band, but I think he at least deserves a 'Featuring' mention.
@@OhYouInternet
Brian vedel jednoducho melodicky spievat a svojou skronostou sjeho skupina dostala medzi top
Oh wow! Does he remember how cold it was filming this?!
I was trying to find who played steel drums. Not credited anywhere. But now when I got his name, I found him. Thank you!
I remember as a 7- 8 years old kids we played who could get lower under the pole as it is in this scene 0:35 😄. We got obsessed about this game and this song! 🤪.
