+WoodysGamertag I recently bought a ver 3.0 of the drone that you have. Do you know why the fan is practically invisible in some shots but clearly prevalent in others?
Its all about the settings. If you take it out of fast mode then it won't tilt the drone which means you won't see the propellers.
My brother lives in Charlotte, about 5-10 min away from UNCC. I visited the campus while I was down there and it is a really nice school. Glad you guys seemed to like it! Drone footage was boss too Woody!

UNC Charlotte student here. If Hope is interested in engineering then you need to go see the other side of campus (Duke hall and the EPIC building). That's where all of the engineering classes and labs are. I can also answer some more questions (I'm not a tour guide) if you have them.
Woody! I am a UNC Charlotte tour guide! I can give you all the reasons why I moved off campus and how to get free books, and the off campus apartments you should stay away from, or really anything else.

That's awesome. I ended up going to UNCC for freshmen year before transferring to UNC. If she goes i suggest living in Witherspoon, it's a suite style dorm and houses a lot of international students too. There are also many learning communities so you can get placed with people studying the same stuff as you. Met some of my best friends there. This video brought back a lot of good memories, thanks Woody!
uncc is a great university. great program and people all round.
next time ask if you can film it since your wife can't make it and would like to see the campus, like so he'll see it!

Dorms are convenient for freshmen since it's easier to make friends, contacts around to campus, and mobility isn't a problem. Apartments have more space, liberty, and are twice as affordable as a dorm.
I love how you include the drone starting from the ground, spinning up the blades, and taking off. It's a really cool effect in your videos.
I'm actually go to UNCC, this up coming year will be my sophomore year. The reason why so many people live off campus is because it's cheaper and you get more for less. I believe the cheapest on-campus housing are the high rises which are about 10,000 for a shared room. While it is true you are closer to the school community living on campus, it doesn't beat having your own room and bathroom for thousands less at some of the surrounding apartment complexes like Arcadia or UH BLVD.
I don't go to UNCC but I've been there multiple times and I'd go with on campus just because you don't have to deal with Charlotte traffic.

I went back in april for the open house type thing and they said that the shared dorms were like 6-7500 or something

Woody, as a third year college student I wanted to give you some advice. I remember the first time I went on a college visit I absolutely loved it. Make sure you take hope on a lot of visits before she makes a final decision. The first visit always seems amazing because you're almost blinded by the excitement of college. Don't make decisions too fast! Best of luck to hope!

We have a pretty nice car scene in Charlotte as well there's weekly meets on the campus that fills one of the parking garages at UNCC.
UNCC is close to my house, it is a lovely college, and highly recommend within the surrounding states of NC
the reason people move off campus is because that is where parties typically are. At my school i moved off campus because you have a lot more freedom as well as having a house on the beach. Its a much more fun experience to live off campus.

Awesome to see you tour UNCC! I am from the Charlotte area and have toured there a bunch, but decided to attend NC State. Hopefully you vlog if you tour there. UNCC has a really nice campus, and Charlotte is an awesome city! Hope you had fun!
Woody, I attend UNC Charlotte and I'm moving off campus. Staying on campus is really for freshman and people that don't have a car, depending how far you live from the university.
My evolution professor last semester was a professor unc Charlotte. He loved teaching there and only came to the university of middle Georgia because of his wife changing jobs.

Hey Woody, I actually attend UNCC. It's a great school, but construction is constant. Hate that I didn't see ya down there though.
I live 25-35 minutes from UNCC (depends on traffic) and I know my cousin just graduated there. I visited the campus in January with my boyfriend and his dad, and the campus is amazing! The reason people move off campus (my cousin did with three other guys) is if you move off campus with other people and share the apartment/house bill, it'll be cheaper than staying on campus. Also, if you want to get a great milkshake in charlotte, go to Pike's soda shop!

Hope needs to live on campus for her first year. I lived off campus in my first two years and it really is a different experience. The campus was a 30 minute walk, either that or you wait for a bus every 20 minutes... and you really do feel completely offset from that community. For my 3rd year I moved right into the centre of it and the difference was incredible. Way more people to meet, way more things to do, the gym and facilities were a 5 minute walk away. Woody, do NOT let her live off campus in year one. Living on campus will make the transition period ten times faster and much smoother! Also, there is the benefit of tighter security on campus... so studying for Hope will always be easier because of noise control measures, less house parties etc.

also, my cousin and brother went to UNCC. Good school.
So I'm an ECU student and I doubt Hope will go here for good reason, mainly because she can get into better schools such as UNC and NSCU. In my opinion those are the two best public schools in the state by far and after that you get the slightly above average schools such as UNCC and APP State. After that you get ECU, UNCP and pretty much every other school in the state. Every campus is going to be awesome, all of them are beautiful and have a great "feel" too them again in my opinion.
In most of the schools you have to live on campus your first year and I obviously had too as an ECU student, I was originally upset with that but I ended up loving it. I decided too not live with my high school buddies in a house but instead get one with my suite mates from the dorms because we bonded and realized it was a good match. Most of the people I talked to ended up loving their roommates and I did not hear many horror stories. I will say if she wants to make the most friends possible definitely go with a hall style dorm instead of suites but if she values privacy over everything else it would be best to attend a school like NCSU that allows you off campus your first year and to get an apartment.
I know this is kind off unasked for advice but if it somehow help's that is great, you really can't go wrong with any of the schools in NC!

As an international student I loved living on campus my freshman year socially it made it much easier than for those who lived off campus. However I moved out after the first year like everyone does.
