Today on JD Cars, we’re completely decking out the F30 steering wheel! This “stock” M-Sport steering wheel I purchased second-hand was a great addition to the car, but it was quite worn from the get go. Since installing the wheel, I’ve wanted to revive it and this alcantara cover and paddle shift extensions were the perfect goodies to do so! Overall, this isn’t a very difficult job, it’s just a bit time consuming- but a lot of fun if you set aside some time to do it. Let me know what you guys think in the comments below!

I literally just finished doing this to my e92 the alcantara cover made a big difference looks soo good. I had trouble finding the paddle shifter since my e92 came with F30 style paddle shifters.

Yes, my wheel is still heated and works great through the cover

So are their different models of the n55 335i? I'm looking at buying one, but the paddles on the steering wheel are really short, is that how they are stock?
Yes, that is how all n55 335i paddles come. I installed paddle shifter extensions (linked below).
So you took the wheel out the car to sit in the same position out the car…..why??
Perfect how NOT to video. First you removed the wheel to install it on a piece of wood the same way as it was in the car. The only difference is that in the car you could turn it what makes installing the cover way easier. And that gap on the top part of the steering wheel is just the total lack of pretentiousness.
