- I play a Magic: the Gathering Online competitive commander / cEDH league with Slicer, Hired Muscle. This highly aggressive mono red commander / cEDH deck seeks to play Slicer on turn 1 or turn 2 and force your opponents to attack each other. Stax pieces like Magus of the Moon and Blood Moon follow up Slicer to prevent your opponent from winning the game. Evasive pieces of equipment like Beamtown Beatstick let Slicer get through for damage.

I knew Beamtown Beatstick performed well for me in MOM limited, but seeing it in the same deck with cards like Mishra's Workshop and Mana Crypt-and actively being very good!-is pretty hilarious.
Gamble just being Entomb 3 out of 3 times in this league was *chef's kiss*.
Consider the new Jitte
It was kinda bonkers in this shell and with this commander. Getting 8 treasures in a turn cycle is crazy.
Love watching CEDH. Deck looked good and did exactly what it was designed to do. Hope to see more of this on the channel 👍
Really love that cEDH is now officially on MTGO, I enjoy this format. Glad you're into it too!
Also, for the gameplay, when someone concedes/dies in a 3+ player pod, you can click the - button at the bottom of their board to minimize their space, it makes it clearer for the rest of the game.
Absolutely loved watching this and would love to see more CEDH content in the future
Commenting to help with the algorithm and say I love this type of edh content. This is straightforward and easy to follow, unlike other edh content that gets lost in chatting and unclear board states
chatting is the point of edh
its called magic THE GATHERING
Lol I love how this video's catchphrase was "That card? In cEDH?" Glad to know it's not just a bunch of Blue Farms, I was a bit scared that mtgo would hurt the diversity of the format
Edit: awesome gameplay btw!
I enjoyed this content! It's cool to see you play cEDH. I'm not sure I would want to see cEDH more than once or maybe twice a week, but I would also love to see what donation decklists come in this format. It almost feels like the MTGO meta still has yet to catch up to the paper meta (e.g., oracle, cultivate), but hopefully that'll change. Also, since your content is mainly Legacy, it could be worthwhile to play decks that have Legacy parallels, like how slicer parallels moon stompy, in an effort to entice the legacy-only audience, but maybe more effort than it's worth since cEDH is such a distinct metagame.

I really loved watching this played! As someone getting into the format, but not watching a ton of content on it (cutting back on my CZcams addiction), seeing someone familiar with the format explaining the thought process and what you're looking out for is super helpful for me! I hope to see more with some other crazy cool commanders!
this was actually really fun to watch and slicer performed way better than i had expected. would be down to watch more cedh content
Actually really liking these games! Hope to see more cEDH on the channel in the future!
I love your 60-card gameplay and commentary, but it's really nice to see you try out some EDH on MTGO! I'd love to see more!
Loved it! Would enjoy seeing more CEDH!
I never played cEDH... I usually watch your channel for the legacy content. So I came to this video with very low expectations. But I really enjoyed it! Thanks, Phil!
Love to see some cEDH!
Commenting to say I love the cEDH content! Would love to see more
I was soooo waiting for you to play Commander League! Please do more!
Quite enjoyed watching this vid. Love seeing Beamtown Beatstick carrying games.
Nice to see cEDH, would be cool to see more! Hopefully activity improves enough for it to be a variety of players
I want to see you play either Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow or K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. I would recommend Yuriko because there's less clicking through infinite loops, but those are both decks that I play a lot and would love to see what you do with them! But really, any cEDH deck is fine-- this is my favorite format.
Recently discovered your channel and love the content - glad to see some cedh on the channel! Subbed
Been following the channel for awhile and wanted to finally get in on the convo. I honestly had no idea about what legacy was like before I started watching your videos, and now your channel is my most watched mtg related channel (and honestly my most watched youtube channel in general), and I just downloaded mtgo to potentially start working towards playing some legacy! I have been a big cEDH player the past few years, and seeing this pop up on your channel was really cool to see. Moto edh seems a bit finnicky, but I hope we will see some more cEDH going forward! I'm going to check out your patreon finally. Thanks for the amazing content!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Really like this style of cedh content, hope to see more of it
This was a really cool video, would definitely love to see more CEDH content occasionally.
i love the CEDH! slicer is such a cool card :) would love to see more!! maybe even mono white in the future?
Look forward to more cedh content. It’s my favorite format rn.
Game one watched better than I was expecting and the ruination on the stack was awesome.
I’ll check game two in a bit
Regular thrabenu legacy content fan here. I don't play cedh mainly because there's no edh community anywhere near my city but I enjoyed the video a lot. Gives me a chance to peek into the world of cedh. Great work phil! Keep it up!
This is great! Really been enjoying cedh on mtgo.
Sweet. Would love to see more content like this added :)
Would like to see more of this for sure :)
I enjoyed the video, would/will watch any more commander content from you!
This was super fun to watch! Lots of hugs from cars.
I really enjoy your editing and presentation style so this was a really engaging and refreshing way to see cedh. Honestly if it becomes a regular thing like once a week, Ill be really interested. The only downside i can see is that its just not a big pool but maybe some content and accessibility on the format will change that. Combined with modo's new intro packs and starter collections.
I love cEDH and loved the league. Please keep doing it occasionally! That said, I feel the experience will be more interesting on the viewing side with decks exactly like Slicer (and you're seeing this from a Sultai cEDH player...).
Loving the commander content Phil. more please
would definitely love to see occasional cEDH! hopefully soon more people join the queue so you don't keep running into the same players
This is some crazy shit. Thanks Phil. Something new to sink a ton of time in.
really enjoy cedh content, slicers an interesting commander in the "cedh meta" the one issue that was likely an issue is the same with normal edh on mtgo, that players concede rather than spending more time fundamentally altering games, leaving some players in a position that they normally wouldnt be in, which is often why ive found mtgo edh youtubers like Commander Replay really only play with players they know
What a bad dar to be Warlock of the Coast lol Loving this Cedh game play, more please, I hope this vid does well. I wonder if the Que would be busier at diff times of the day
Love this!
I've literally never watched EDH gameplay before. Very interesting.
I would suggest watching some more IRL EDH/CEDH videos. There is a lot of diplomacy/social shenanigans that's missing from this format.
More of this would be nice.
I think this was well edited and the gameplay was fun to watch. Though it is important to note there was never a game with blue players lasting long, and that may provide for that clicking contest that leads to long and arduous content so I would test more maybe with a blue deck just to see?
would love to see more cedh content
:D I love the cEDH content!
I would love more cedh content in the future. Yeah modo is janky but I like getting your running commentary instead of webcam tabletalk
the gui for it really makes me appreciate your narration, you explaining makes it much easier to follow with the cramped layout. the gameplay was fun to watch, tho hope there are more people in the queue in the future. not very familiar with cedh, so not sure how much of the games feeling a bit samey was you getting the same opponents, you happening to draw the same couple cards, or how consistent cedh decks manage to be
Seeing CEDH content is sweet!
Amazing gameplay! I was wondering why slicer wasnt played t1g1 but then i realized hes 3 cost not 2 XD
I basically only play non-blue combo decks, so the clicking through issue might be a dealbreaker. Tayam and Gitrog are not made for this, tayam might be okay though. It seems like it could be fun for a Winota deck though. Either way, it's a cool addition to mtgo and your content.
Love the commander content!
Comments on it
-Are you able to reformat the screen once players get eliminated?
-Really liked your commentary walking through each of the moves because sometimes they can be hard to see with the size.
Definitely love for cEDH
Love this please do more cedh
heads up in round 2 you held off on replaying slicer to dodge supreme verdict, but slicer on the vehicle side is only a creature during your turn so he always dodges sorcery speed creature removal if you don't pass him around lol
I *think* you can right click on the 3rd player's end step and select "yield until here".
You can definitely minimise an opponent once they're out of the game.
I think this league was really neat, and like everything you do, would love to see more. So you may be looking for a more critical opinion than mine :P
def would like to see more cedh although id like to see more of the chat when playing 4 player
Loved the video, I think CEDH can work as videos because you edit out a lot of the dead time when players are thinking
Classic Redtomb doing it's thing
Best draft of all time! 5/7, no notes. I can't wait for the next one. Note: Would it make sense to record one match a day to give variety to the pods? Thanks for taking the risk.
If you leave the game with the Niv combo on the stack targeting you does it end the combo or can they target another opponent?
I'm not the biggest fan of CEDH but this was quick and enjoyable. If it's harder to record because downtime is so long and the overall content is shorter I don't know how great reoccurring content would be.
Would like to see some cEDH rotated into the channels schedule occasionally :)
Sick deck
That was great
Was wondering when you'd start with cEDH. Great, wild format. Shorikai Stax when?
I'd consider more cEDH in the future if this video does well enough.
@@ThrabenUniversity it's a great format, but it's SO hard to see in MTGO , on phone it's impossible to watch the cards
@@fel_95 its why I only play edh on Untap, where you can manually swap between each opponent battlefield manually
Magus of the Moon is a 3 mana player removal spell
this was good fun
Super fun content!
Love cedh 🎉
I was hoping this was going to be a slicer legacy video lol
A suggestion is to close the area for those opponents who have left the game to utilise the screen area more effectively. Just click the - button under their commander!
did you know that you can close the window of the player that lose/quit making the other opponan screen bigger
I enjoy watching cEDH. Sub
This was kinda neat
Cool deck
The Gambles were real stars in this league XD
Its really nice to see it on MTGO but the windows are tiny and the boardstates get cluttered so fast i wonder if cutting the chat for screenspace might be good. Also wonder if all people will try and be competitive it is a way to play commander online now afterall
I feel like it was strictly a misplay trying to kill the Etali player at 24:00 rather than just getting 2 bonus treasures plus 8 more commander damage on the bant player (I believe that's the way it works. They have TOR protection but if memory serves, protection doesn't interact with damage dealt, only with life lost from damage dealt if that makes sense)
Hell yeah Slicer
cedh is cool to see!
Love the cEDH content. My only suggestion if you record more games is to minimize the play area of players once they die/concede.
I think people aren't really caring about the C in CEDH.
I expect this "may" continue. The EDH fanbase dwarfs the CEDH base.
I am happy to see more edh.
modo vc update when? Also, big fan of the cedh content, even if we don't get comms really.
also, you can right click on a specific phase and choose to yield until then.
I like these videos
CEDH LET's GOOOO
I can see the argument for keeping it open to show that there was 4 players in the game, but you can hit the little minus button in the bottom right of any opponent to minmize their board and give the other players more screen space. Useful after they've conceded or if you really want to show what one player is doing.
Game two watched great too, sure it would be nice to pair into different players, but it didn’t watch /redundant/. It is also early in the lifespan of the new mtgo offering, it should probably take off a bit more down the road.
hell yeah!!
Poor D_A_N_A just got wrecked by Phil's deck 2 games in a row. Getting magused out early and then just ran over by a car in the next game.
I feel like this format is gonna take a while for it to look like paper cedh. Hopefully, we can look forward to some larger scale tournaments on the platform. But i feel like the leagues will always have at least one player playing a high power deck with bad cards, and if that's going to be the case, Slicer is definitely going to crush those games
That was pretty fun for someone who knows nothing about cedh
When's Winota?
cEDH from Phil! Lfg
❤ Cedh
Couldn't the black player have answered your slicer like at any point with his sac land in game 3
CEDH is ok, but the problem for me is that I much prefer to see you win than lose and in 4-player games you’ll usually win a lot less often :-s
Lezzgoooooooo
I hate commander on principle but I hope the people who do enjoy this content appreciate it
Stax is great on mtgo
