  • Patriots Jet Team Offers Upset Recovery Training In A Sabreliner
We've all practiced unusual attitudes during primary flight training, and then may have never strayed beyond straight-and-level. But it's very important to know what to do when you suddenly find yourself upside down in any airplane, let alone a business jet.
To that end, the Patriots Jet Team is now offering Upset Recovery training using both a North American Sabreliner and an Aero L-39, both of which have been used as military trainers.
At NBAA-BACE 2019, Aero-News Editor-in-Chief Jim Campbell chatted with Randy Howell, CEO of the Patriots Jet Team Upset Recovery Training arm, about the importance of such training in an airplane similar to what you may actually be flying.

The North American Saberliner has one strong airframe. I recall seeing a Bob Hoover demonstration video where he routinely rolled a demo Saberliner just after takeoff. He also performed beautiful loops in same. I spent two hours with a corporate pilot going through a brief checkout; in that time we didn't get close to actually starting an engine. Soo much to learn.

Great video, very true that sims don't recreate the "light in the seat" wonder what this costs.
