- Originally conceived as the Scirocco’s successor, the VW Corrado G60 was meant to be better, but cheaper. In some ways, it was better. The Scirocco II was kept on, joined by the Corrado with its new G-lader scroll-type supercharger in 1988.

I'm restoring a corrado g60 right now. With airco sunroof and all the other goodies. Will be 100% rust free and better than new.
My first car back in the day. Cost a bundle to maintain, but it did turn heads.

I had a blue 1990 I bought new in the US. It definitely got attention but it was pricey and I could barely afford it. But I did enjoy it a great deal. I’d love to have one again.

@Gez -it was my 2nd car. A yellow g6o. i had lots of trouble with it. I bought it when the supercharger started to wear out. Oh yeah they called (my vw car buds) it big bird because of the color and when the spoiler raised up at 30 mph..
Vw should bring this car back.

It is a good sport car from 90 , I had one g60 and it was super , little work on g lader and it is a rocket....
Hrvoje Pavec-do you mind if i ask what you what to did to the G-lader to get power gains? nitrous seems like it is a nice easy way to get good gains.
What is thermo insulated glass, I’ve had the miss fortune of sleeping in the corrado... not warm. And on a sunny day it’s very hot inside like any other car .. boggles the mind

G60 is WAAAAAAY better then the VR6 and much lighter & robust. I have owned both. Value of G60 engines are going up as well as the Golf G60. Crazy prices for good examples.

Its still special even though it doesent sound as sexy.
G60 is the definitive Corrado and any sensible VR6 owner will know to be wary of it!

That was kind of a facepalm to me too right after explaining how the G-lader is a compressor, not a turbo and thus doesn't suffer from turbo-lag ... 🤦
