5 years later and this is still helping people, so thank you!!! I’ve been wondering how to handle reselling the clothes I find with tags still on them 😁 thank you again!!
That’s good to know! Thanks! Be sure to subscribe
Thanks so much for this I really appreciate it ! I have been get complaints and unfortunately some people don’t like the way febreeze smells. So I’m definitely gonna try it!!!
Great tip with the bag. They use to sell a dry cleaning bag years ago. I tried to find it recently but couldn’t. So glad you suggested just a regular bag. Easy peasy!
I remember that bag. It was called Dryel.
Let me tell you something----if you have ever bought anything from anywhere be it a store or online resold clothes---WASH THEM before you wear them. I don't fault any seller for sending them with a dryer sheet or febreezed because they are just trying to make some money in this world. But to be shocked that someone didn't run them through the wash...like really? Even if you got them from a rack in a store, you don't know how many dirty people tried them on before you got them or if it was a return by someone who wore it. So the lesson is, if you buy clothes, wash before they touch your body. My PSA is over.
Banyo I agree!
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter So do I!
Banyo there is a You Tube video from a girl who used to work at Goodwill. After her video you will (a) want to puke; and (b) never look at Goodwill/thrift store clothing the same again. 🤢
Kimberly S That thrift store smell is gross!
@@kimberlys2851 Oh believe, I saw it a few months ago. I thrift all the time as my side job and I have a whole container of wet wipes in my car which I wash my hands down with after a trip to the thrift, and they are disturbingly brown every time. I've seen trailers where clothes are housed while they wait to be put out. There isn't enough piped in perfume floating through these buildings to hide the smell lurking betwixt the fabrics----I KNOW! This is precisely why one should NEVER assume clothes they receive that are used are washed or that a seller has washed them or that even straight from the store itself---whether Nordstrom or Goodwill, that the clothes are free from all manner of disgusting fair. You just don't know. For the love of good googly moogly, wash everything!!!!
I’m going to give this idea a try! I had thought about ironing it with a dryer sheet on the inside of the garment!
I’ll let you know!
Thank you for the info!
Sure thing!
Thanks, appreciate this. I make and sell handmade knitwear. I was totally bummed out after hours of work to notice an odor after storing items in a plastic storage tub in a climate controlled, smoke free area of my home. Very psyched to use your method. Hope it works!!
did it work for you?
I throw the fabric sheet in the dryer with the shirt. is will keep the shirt from wrinkling and heat the dryer sheet smell in. I've done this for YEARS and it works magic! You're welcome!
Can you do this method with new clothes with store tags? Wouldn't the paper store tags get damaged?
@@sourcedfromparadise8368 they don't. I lay them out when they are warm and let them cool down so they are flat again if they curl. You don't have to tumble them too long. Just enough to heat the garment up and get the smell of the dryer sheet warmed in :)
I hate dryer sheets, they are toxic and I have asthma.
Can I do this on normal spin dry in the washer? don't have a dryer
@@kevinmayers4346 try it with one of your own clothing first...then come back and let us know. :)
Your wife is very lucky. Happy Spring.
Thanks! Happy Spring
Great video
Thanks!
I saw a video which I really enjoyed it's called Gentleman's Gazette Preston schlueter if I'm not mistaken he said by spraying vodka on the item and letting it dry that will remove the musty smell I'm going to try that. I think the vodka smell goes away once it dries then I would wash it after if it didn't have tags. I recommend watching his video and you decide. The dryer sheet is good but as long as you use a mild sent just like you recommend 👍
I was wondering about this...or baking soda. So many good suggestions in comments here!!!
Yes I use alcohol
I also will freeze items for some days ex wigs
Savers uses bug killing sprays on their clothes. Always wah clothes before wearing regardless if its new! 😊
A sock full of kitty litter tied off to stop it leaking in a bag is a good way to destink your stuff.
Hi. If it's seriously nasty, I would try hand-washing in Woolite (label should say for handwashing/delicates)...keeping that tag out of the water...rinsing then air-drying. It's really good for getting moldy/musty smells out.
Andrea W very good idea, Andrea! Thank you!
Does this method work with combating cigarette smoke? 🤔
Hi! How many minutes do you run the clothes with tags/brand new in the dryer to kill bed bugs? Is it effective? Thanks
Just a few minutes. Yep, it works!
Or set it out in the sun or outside .. the sun will take it out or just being outside .. it works
And disinfect it
Thanks for the tip! This is so helpful. Do you steam the item afterward so it's wrinkle free or will that not work with the dryer sheet process? So curious about that!
Sure, you can steam it afterwards. Thanks!
And if you steam it that’ll help disinfect it, somewhat
I just got some vintage clothes with tags still on them. I'm thinking about protecting the tag in a little jewelry ziplock baggie and hand wash the clothes but I'm scared to make a move. They smell like old dusty house. Those dryer sheets are not safe though. I try to use non harmful, chemical free products because I don't want to take a chance on breathing in or touching something that might be dangerous for the body. What about a steamer? Are those easy to use?
Hey I was also thinking about putting the tags in ziplock bags, did you ever try it ? And if so did it work ?
@@kaym2277 it must work...how could it not? Anyway, ima try it soon.
I have had some luck using a portable clothes steamer. It usually removes odors from the thrift store. I usually steam anything new with tags. I wonder if a bag of activated charcoal would work? That’s my next try.
Interesting ideas. Thank you!
Just buy the tagging hang machine tool cut original - dry and retag
That’s not original though when you do that
What if we dont have a refreshing sheet. How about putting it to sun? Does it help?. Btw.... Done subscribing💖💖
It can and spray it with Febreze. Thank you for subscribing and welcome to the primetime family.
Dab clothing with Fabric sheets. There, I just saved you 13 minutes.
You're welcome.
Thanks but I know that and have done that. this is for when that does not do the job. Thanks for watching!
There are a lot of new resellers looking for this kind of information and while you obviously know it, some of us appreciate the time taken to thoroughly explain the process.
Sourced From Paradise! Thanks! Thanks
Wow, took so long to get to it and then after all that it was a nothing burger. That would do nothing for clothes from thrift stores.
Well, yeah, for thrift store smells you have to wash it first
Does this work with cigarette smell?
It should
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter Thank you

How many envelopes do you have there?
40 x.12 cents per envelope. Starting out your own call center? I hear India's cheap.
Local in your basement is well cheaper.

It's an old video when I just started on CZcams.
WAY TOO LONG.
You are commenting on a 3 year old video for someone who had just started CZcams. Things have changed.
Please tell me you don’t use perfumed laundry products to make things smell “clean and fresh”. Is not. Gaine, Tide, fabreeze and dryer sheets are the WORST! Try getting those smells out!
OK. We use non-perfumed detergents. Anything else?
Well done! I have difficulty getting artificial scents out. Bless you!
A few thing that’s worked for getting that old smell out is to hang it outside in the sun, ozone machine, and lightly misting wool with vodka (who knew).
