They're not even close to the same circuit. For some reason, DOD took the FX25, added an envelope reversal / inversion switch and called it the FX440 Reissue. Most people complain that the FX25 / 440RI has a very crappy response, where it takes hard playing to open the filter, but then the filter opens all at once. So basically when you're playing softly it's muddy, so you dig into the strings, then you get an ear piercing / speaker blowing sound. There are a few people out there that make use of it, but for most it's an unpleasant playing experience.
Could you share the numbers(for the stylophone/pocket synthesizer) for your video "Cruel Angel's Thesis Intro - Pocket Hatsune Miku Stylophone Cover" ?
@@dbkarp i Still, the vactrol used on the original are pretty rare, i want to verify whats the one used on the reissue and see how the voice switch is wired.
@@denniskrigger i'm very sorry for this very late reply. the reissue does not use a vactrol and does not even have the same kind of filter. instead it has an lm13700 with the label scratched off the hide its identity. so it is actually an updated fx25...
hello! the 1990 version does not require its own power adapter. it uses 9V like the reissue. however, it does require the smaller type of plug, just like old electroharmonix pedals. so you can power it with voodoo labs, one spot, etc, but you need the correct cable.

Could you take a picture of the reissue inside?
It's all SMD, but I can take a picture if you still want it.

hello DK, does the 1990 one require a power adaptor, or it just works with the power supply? thanks!!

@@dbkarp thank you so much!
The 2014 has this painful harshness. Really cheap sounding.
@Mitchell Palmer not my perception, but that's what's cool about different people.
