    Janis had so much pain, even from childhood. Janis is genuine. She was not effected by fame. Her pain, imo, made her the finest blues singer. She was tormented. Read a biography, a good one . Janis is and was a treasure.

    My favorite singer ever, her live performances are pure emotion, kinda painful. She had a tough life, but she did what she had to do. The 60's were sex, drugs and rock n roll and she was perfect for that time.

    A lovely reaction from you both.
    Also recognised as one of the greatest female singers of the 20th century also with a tragic life that also ended too soon there is another singer you should check out.
    Her name is Edith Piaf. Try the "officiel" live version of her singing "Non, je ne regrette rien". (No, I regret nothing)
    The fact that she is singing in French will not detract from what you see and hear.

    She’ll always be in her 20s. I sometimes think about what she would’ve brought to the stage in her 30s 40s and 50s. It seems like she was interested in jazz, and maybe jazz would be a whole different thing today if she had brought her talents to that table.
    PS: Her life was sometimes very difficult, but she always found joy and acceptance on the stage, and was generally a fun loving and productive person.
    Her death was a tragic accident when she was trying to quit.

  • @scottrbloom
    @scottrbloom Před 2 měsíci +2

    There are clips of her on a music train that traversed Canada in 1970 - The Festival Express - along with The Grateful Dead and The Band and others. There's a movie about it that came out about 20 years ago. She was like a mother/sister to everyone on the tour. Everyone loved her dearly, and a few worried about her hard drinking, but she never worried about herself; it was all about everyone else. But she was very bright and very funny and self-deprecating.

      I don't like comparisons , I think Janis is totally unique. But I will say Steve Marriott is my favourite male vocalist, both with The Small Faces and Humble Pie. Tin Soldier is amazing and Humble Pies performance of Black Coffee on TOGWT is unforgettable.....

    Janis was bullied by the Jocks in high school because she was different I can relate, the jocks harassed me because I was gay, I wasn't out of the closet then but was different😢. When you're not excepted and mistreated you seek friends that will except you😊. You feel her pain when she sings, some use drugs to escape pain, I hope before she passed she realized how beautiful she was heart and soul 💔 Janis RIP. Peace✌️ ☮️ and Love❤️ Gary 😊 check out Case Elliotts song "Different" when in high school I was also LARGE! Peace
