  • I visited Mansheya Nasir, also known as garbage city, one of the only Christian neighbourhoods in all of Egypt. Most people were very welcoming, some not so much...
I tried to be an investigative journalist and discover what garbage city (Mansheya Nasir) is all about. Garbage city is a neighbourhood in Cairo, Egypt responsible for the waste management of the whole city! I didn't get to learn to much about the process, but don't stress! Next video I post I get shown around by a local who tells me all about garbage city. The reason why I didn't get a chance to learn much about this interesting place is because very few people here speak English. ALSO some dude got very mad at me and threatened me with a sharp piece of metal. So at that point i was pretty bummed and really didn't care much about the garbage any more. There was a cool church in a cave that I went to see but besides that, all I mostly saw was garbage... lots and lots of garbage. What a crazy place!

  • @emocool007

You were not being kicked out bro. They were trying to tell you the back street was blocked.

Why aren’t you using an easily accessed translator on your phone to ask in Arabic? Just an idea it could help with the communication barrier since you get offended when they don’t understand lol.

  • @RosinDaddy5280

I appreciate the fact that you don't act like a know-it-all and just exploring and being curious about things.

I could just picture the Egyptians being SOOO CONFUSED LMAO

  • @Rafick203

They are not Catholics, they are Coptic (orthodox). The hitting the hand thing they meant to say the street is a “dead end”

  • @limbrat5448

I love how the fraze " I love you " is so universal.❤

Great video, thank you for sharing your experience. No, they are not kicking you out, they are saying it's an end street and were assuming you are looking for the monastry. They are not Catholic, Coptic orthodox.

  • @nikodemus6315

  • @singingdane3916

Do you have more videos of you exploring Christian stuff? I really enjoyed this😊

Loved the video - some people would cringe at exploring new cultures, new faces, new norms... I did have one question - when you approached the church and said "I don't really care to know much about it" - why not? I think the history surrounding such a place (considering the minority Christian status in Egypt) would have been so interesting? Not a Christian myself - but kind of seemed like a missed opportunity there? Such a unique place.
