    Hey Matt, great video as always. BTW - All those features are available on the old SC300. You just need to update the ap and you are good to go. It does work even better outdoors. I've compared mine to the trackman several times. When outdoors it's pert-near spot on. ... All except, spin rate. As you mentioned spin rate is not great. It's calculated not actually measured and there are just so many variables that can affect spin rate.

    @wallstreetoneil Před 3 lety +1

    These things are getting there slowly - the radar on the ball speed was spot on - and ball speed is king if you're working on speed. With how cheap cameras and memory are, I'm surprised there isn't a $1000 solution yet for a QC Quad type competitor - all you would need is a form factor exactly like the SC300i that you would place in a mini tripod grip and place it next to the ball looking down - it would be an amazing tool for range work as it would give you Path, Face to Path - and that would give you curvature etc - amazing teaching tools

      I’m sure the technology is there, but these companies will milk it as long as people spend the money.

    • @wallstreetoneil
      @wallstreetoneil Před 3 lety

      @@maeu59 my point is that there is so much room to come in under the current $20k price for a QC Quad that it feels we are less than 12 months away from a $1k product - we are talking about $100 in memory and $100 in lenses, I can write the software in a day for an interpolating lookup table that a QC Quad would do to give theoretical distances and curvatures. I'm really surprised it hasn't been done - it has to be designed and in the pipeline

    After tons of research, I purchased the Swing Caddy 300 last Spring, then returned it after 2 weeks.
    It was not ready for consumers yet, at least not this one.
    Unable to separate/track 2 players, unable to delete outliers, interface was terrible and would constantly crash.
    I will watch your 300i review now and see what u have to say about it.
    On a different note, I watched your video on the PRGR last year and just had my friend pick one up for himself.
    What a great and inexpensive golf tool. Laser rangefinder confirmed the accuracy.
    And being able to get swing speed data without a ball is fantastic, (no one else can do that).
    What a great speed training tool that PRGR is !!

    Your reviews are always awesome! I'm an average golfer and I've been using the sc300 (indoors) for the last 6 months (over 9000 swings). All things considered; I'm very happy with the product. I believe they are selling the 300 and the 300i for the same price - which I can't understand. Also, I updated my swing caddie app which is allowing me to access the new video feature with the sc300. As you stated, the product does not show side spin data so I just focus on improving my smash factor; does that seem reasonable? Your doing a great job. Your videos are the most fun to watch for sure.

    I've been using this for a few weeks. The good: only missed maybe 3-4 shots out of several hundred, good accuracy, easy to use and customize for clubs, when the app works, it is really useful, long battery life. The not-so-good: the app is buggy, especially if you need to delete shots from your data set or import shots from a previous session where the app wasn't on at the time, loss of "approach" mode over previous versions where it would randomly pick target yardages.
    Overall, it has helped me to dial in yardages with my irons but the bugginess of the app is really annoying right now.

    I'm loving the new video capture idea...though I've not managed to test that out yet, although I 'think' that I have it set up correctly? Just need to get a tripod for my phone to try that out.
    The SC300 was, for me, the best of the budget launch monitors. Right up until they released the Mevo+ however the Mevo+ is three times the price so really shouldn't be compared with the SC300i either...

    Hi Matt, very interesting. I have an SC200 and one of the reasons, apart from general club distancing was the wedges and practice and TBH it was pants, both indoors and down the range, and would quite often, indeed, mostly, not register shots with my PW, GW or SW, the other clubs were fine. I did send it back to the retailer and contacted company via email, but didn't get any improvement, nor even a response.
    Good that you feel the new version is better, but I'd have trouble parting with more money when the level of support has been so poor.

I've hit line drives that did not get higher than my head and the SC300i said the Apex was 70 feet or more. I've hit limited flight range balls and recorded smash factors in excess of 1.50 with my driver. Even the data within the SC300i doesn't make sense at times. I've had two balls hit with the same club, recorded identical swing speeds, smash factors, and launch angles, and recorded a farther carry and total distance on the shot that had 1,000 more RPMS on the spin. I guess you can count the number of balls you've hit during a range session!?

    Does anyone know what you can do if you play PING? PING have half lofts. I live in West Virginia and we do not have a single driving range that is flat so I can’t get a true distance on a hill side driving range.
    Any help would be grateful.

      If indoors, no reads could be related to your lighting. Maybe try changing amount and angle of lights to see if that helps.

      I'm pretty sure it only needs ten feet or so of ball travel (as demonstrated in the video). Landing area isn't critical for the launch monitor to work. I presume this would work fine at your range.
