ABOUT THIS VIDEO
In this SwingCaddie SC4 review, we look at the good, the bad, and the ugly of this budget launch monitor. We also compare it to other golf launch monitors under $500 like the FlightScope Mevo and Rapsodo MLM.
Along with that, we compare it to the direct competitors in the market such as the Garmin Approach R10 and the Rapsodo MLM2Pro.
Here's our full look at the best launch monitors and golf simulators on the market:

I bought this a few days ago for practice use. Went with this over the Garmin and the Rapsodo because it seemed to be a little better for use at the range.
I’m really impressed. Seems incredibly accurate and only misses a shot if I have a bad miss hit. The app and video capture is great. The screen is easy to read.
I know it does not estimate spin axis, but I bet they add that at some point because everyone is complaining about it. It’s nice to have an estimated spin with range balls. And I have no plans for a sim.
Driver seems accurate to me unless I have a miss hit. If you hit somewhere on the face it’s gonna give you good club and ball speed data…..which is what you need to improve.
Who cares if your driver carry distance is off by 7 yards 270+ yards away…..
Thanks for the review as all ways great job! I going to get the SC4 though I am disappointed with the driver/ woods accuracy and the app. I will be using this unit outdoors either at the range or my backyard. I am currently using the Golfboy app and for what it is it’s not bad. I play competitive golf and want a unit that will work for me I do not have any space for sim use so that is not a problem. Anyway great job thanks again
Thanks as always for taking the time to do this…LM tech is advancing so fast these days, not sure how anyone keeps up…I have a Mevo+ and SkyTrak and love both for different reasons. However, being a military guy, I’ve moved once again and my current home doesn’t have anywhere to set up for either one…the Mevo+ is great at the range, but setup is a bit laborious to get accurate data…I’ve settled on my clubs so don’t need the enhanced data as much anymore, just the data I need for gapping, and performance…this looks like it could be a winner…need to sell the other two first or else the minister of finance might have some issues….
Nice review thanks. Are you going to do a review of the Ernest Sports ES Tour Plus?
I was really curious about this one so appreciate the video! @3:03-3:04 Did you mean the SC4, not the Flightscope?
Awesome video Sean, just subscribed! Real quick i’m trying to decide on one of those budget launch monitors I like to swing caddie, Garmin R10. Can anyone of these be put on a projector and a screen app on your phone? Thanks for your help. Looking to use simulator so I think about that.R10.
Looking for a monitor for strictly range work, basic data….club and ball speed, carry, basic spin. With the display and the remote, this seems like the choice…..simulator will come later with a different monitor. Thoughts?
The MLM2PRO struggles mightily with chip shots, anything 12 yards and under it and you are probably looking at 50% no reads or miss reads. Did you test the SC4 in those kind of scenarios because that is sort of a big deal when it comes to simulation play especially when there’s no putting

Just got the sc3 for $250 on costcos app. Excited to try it for this price
Thanks for a great informative video.
I have a question though, how accurate are club speed and ball speed?
Very
Does it work with the foam practice balls you hit into a net in the backyard?
I have had mine since May. I’ve gone back and forth about “buyer’s remorse” a few times. Ultimately I’m glad I have mine BUT still have some disappointments
1. No Side Spin (limited shot shaping)
2. No Swing Speed Training (SC300i had it)
3. No Native Simulator (3rd party)
4. Doesn’t read chips (less than 25 yards) all that well
5. App Data (Sorting function is bad)
6. App Video (needs a larger window for recorded clips)
When hitting into a net, Is the launch directon alone pointless without path and clubface measures? As in it could launch straight but hook ferociously?
Question for you. As someone looking at taking that next step up, Skytrak+, mini lite, BLP…what are you talking about with $7500 for fully unlocked on BLP? I see $3500+ $500 a year. Thank You!
Have there been any updates on the app usability or fixes for the driver and wood usage?
Thanks for the review do you anticipate you will be able to test the new skytrack or eye mini in the future?
SkyTrak review should be up in a couple weeks. Written version is here: breakingeighty.com/skytrak-plus-review
does the SC4 come with a redeem code for the E6 Connect? You said it comes with 1 simulation course, but I'm finding that i need to pay for the E6 subscriptions which is like $300 a year. Love you channel and your reviews are excellent. Everything you want to know as a consumer in a concise and interesting format.
Thank you,
Yes, it should come with a redeem code. Mine came via email after the fact, as it wasn't totally setup at launch. But pretty sure that it now either comes with it, or you get it digitally after you register the device.
I just got mine and yes it come with a code on the packaging. One thing I didn't know is E6 only works on IOS phones and tablets or a PC. I was disappointed in that because I have android products, so I can't use E6 at the range.
If I have this set up on my local range, will other ball flights interfere with getting the correct readings for my shots?
How Many feet in front of the ball does the monitor need?
Do the RCT balls make a difference?
I am looking at the optishot version of this. I wonder if their software will be solid
I'm sure at the very least it'll be an improvement over this one...
I order on the site but they don’t give 50$ back.WHY?
Is the app still bad? Have they updated it yet?
SC4 or Rapsoda MLM2Pro?
200$ cheaper than the Rapsodo, but does not measure spin axis. Axis is essential to emulate accurate ball flight(draw, fade). Not worth the 200$ savings if it does not provide that metric. For 200$ extra you get MEASURED spin axis with the Rapsodo and therefore more realistic simulator experience.
It’s more than that. RCT balls and etc … surely they will get calculated spin at some point.
Does it give swing speed without having to strike a ball?. Does it give swing speed without having to strike a ball?.
No. That was a SHOCKING omission. I thought it was included when I purchased. Major disappointment.
New software update uploaded today? You can now track swing speed without having to hit balls.
@@brianstifora1548Same with the sc300 I'm not sure if it's accurate though
Does it give swing speed without having to strike a ball?
