Oh man this medicine really helps. I've had the flu for 2 days. The pain in my face an neck have been relentless. I just took two (one more than I'm prescribed) but did so on a fullish stomach. The pain is gone. Now I just need to sit up for a few minutes so this medicine has time to digest before I can go back to sleep. This is a miracle! 😷🤧

This medicine has helped my muscle pain so much. I like how these pills are smaller than regular anti-inflammatory. I see a lot of people here complaining about stomach pain. Are you eating before you take them? Ive never had issues with my medication. I also know the risks involved if you take them before you lay down. Never take NSAIDs laying down or they can settle on your inside lining. These are after all used to help you stay mobile.

Thank you for this info..I have rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis,,have been taking meloxicam for a few years,,it helps keep inflammation under control,,I can tell,if I miss a day or so..thanks...

It says not to ingest any other anti inflammatory,what about a low dose over the counter cream like voltaren?

This medicine helped me a lot. I still have pain sometimes but it's working. I've noticed tingling in my legs . I don't smoke drink seldom. Its been 6 ths. They want to start me on Embrel what do you think

The only problem is that, it is a generic medication hence, there are several manufacturers for the same pill. So what your pharmacy dispensed may differ from the image that I show.

Was prescribed this after my bicep tendon rupture after taking for 20 days and following directions I began to have awful symptoms. Canker sores, bleeding gums, diarrhea, etc. I stopped taking them I’m on day 3 and everything is getting better except the stomach issues. No more blood but definitely pain it feels almost constricted it’s massively painful off and on.

DOC , thank you very much .a doctor just prescribed these tablets for me. Am looking at 5 in the bag .and am going to dump them immediately..the risk outweighs the results. That's why I hate drugs ..

I had injuries waiting on surgery and inflation built up over yrs they gave meloxcam and I started having shortness of breath and inflation around the stomach

I take this when I have problem with gout. It very effective to reduce pain. However in long term it give effect of high blood pressure and stomach problems as you informed on your slide.

A very informative video. I'm 72 years old and have severe pain from osteoarthritis and sacroilitis, and meloxicam is the only thing that works for me. I took a break from it for a while, after esophogeal erosion was discovered, but had to go back on it after my esophagus healed. Am in very good health otherwise, so this medication has made life worth living. Renal failure is a possible consequence of long term use, but I'd sooner shoot myself than do without it again.

Doctors do not seem to understand that. After a certain age why can't a person live the rest of their life without life destroying pain? Not me but my husband.

Meloxicam can definitely help with dental pain especially if there is inflammation as well. It is also long acting hence dosed less frequently than say, Ibuprofen. Wish u all the best. Dental pain is the worst.

Im glad I came here first.. was prescribed for mild arthritis in my knee due to an injury.. uhm I think Ill just deal with the pain for now.. they are tripping

I have heard that you should not consume alcohol when taking meloxicam, but I am confused if this means alcohol at the same time you are taking the meloxicam pill or simply alcohol at any time while you are on meloxicam? My understanding is that it has to do with the lining of the stomach. But if you take meloxicam in the morning and have a glass of wine or beer at night, does the same concern exist?

I just started taking 15mg of this medicine and it gave me a severe headache all day along with drowsiness and heart palpitations and I'm still in pain 😔

For me, it doesn’t really make a difference. My suggestion will to pick a time when you can be consistent if you have asked to take it for sometime. Most important thing to remember is to have some small food in the stomach.
I'm on 15 mg for last 7 years or so. The skin on my lower arms has ben rough, dry, and bumpy with a weird discoloration pattern ever since I started taking it. I showed my arms to my doctor and she says it's just sun damage and to use dish soap on my arms. It didn't help. Special high moisturizing or prescription strength lotions do not help.

Dish soap is the worst thing for skin. No more detergent. Soak your arms in water that has apple cider vinegar in it. (Or put a wet towel on the skin and let sit for a while). 1/3 apple cider vinegar to 2/3 distilled water. or 1/3 green tea to make it smell better.
After only taking it for two weeks, I have developed a bunch of skin rashes all over my body.

There is really not a set maximum time per se. The general recommendation is to take the the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time. Since everyone's situation is different, you may have to work with your doctor to determine what is best suited for your particular situation.

Generally speaking, caution should always be exercised when talking an NSAID like meloxicam, Ibuprofen etc. in situations of uncontrolled hypertension. Best to discuss your individual situation with your doctor.
