Once again, Soyeon tells the people who don't like/don't understand what she's doing to sit down and shut up. This comeback just got another 100k sales just from the attention this pre-release is getting...
I saw some great posts on Twitter talking about how the song is satirizing the idea of being an obedient wife (specifically in the traditional more conservative society of Korea). The Korean lyrics have a bunch of play on words and double meanings which I am not qualified enough to explain so I highly suggest looking up some posts about that, but some interesting visual stuff I noticed after learning the meaning: the girls dress and appear to look the same which could allude to an obedient wife losing her autonomy and individuality; the inclusion of something metal looking on their shoes (only one foot) could be like the "ball and chain" analogy for being trapped in marriage; and the fact that the girls don't mouth the lyrics until the very end where they finally say they don't want to be a wife (or at least like the one they've described in the song). No surprise that these girls are giving us more music like this. They are so incredible.

Legit love this song so much. It wouldn’t work as a comeback title track, but as an “appetizer” pre-release it is PERFECT. And beyond just being a fun track with a fun choreo and incredibly fun MV, it’s 100% on-brand for (G)I-DLE’s messaging. Soyeon killed it yet again…can’t wait for “Super-Lady”!

Traditional wives are viewed to be best at cooking, cleaning and sex. You’re not a good wife if you’re bad at sex. The song emphasized cooking, cleaning and lowkey sex based on the lyrics
If you noticed, all girls wear same hair and same clothes because that’s how society view them: SAME WIVES and expected to do same things.
Bob hair cut represents strong independent progressive and spirited women. In the past, long hair symbolized feminity and beauty and didn’t cut hair to not offend men. (G)I-DLE wearing same bob cut means they’re going against this social norms of being traditional wife.
They didn’t sing in the MV. They only did when they chant “I don’t wanna be wife wife wife” which they rebelling against how society view them.
The chain in their shoes during Miyeon’s part also represented how they are supposed to just be at home, take care of their husband, and it felt like they are being chained and locked.
The whole song is more than being fun, because traditional wives just want some fun in their lives but lived lonely because of how society view them
