We had to go pick up the new Kenworth firewood truck. It barely was low enough to haul on the lowboy. They set a box on the truck and fixed it up for us. This truck will haul 10 cords.
Them two piece front rims are very dangerous. I know a guy that was airing one up the ring blew off and literally cut him in half. Great video bro be safe GOD BLESS.
I like the truck as is. I have a suggestion. Maybe install supper single tires and rims; depending on the cost and traction. I would shine up the fuel tanks, wheel rims, and go to work with the truck. Everyone one is going to tell you how to run your business; do want you want to.
Those aren't super singles, they're about 18 inches wide, for some reason the inside dual wheels are missing and the front wheels are Dayton wheels still available on brand new trucks today. I'd guess the dri es have been swapped which is why the wheels don't match
Definitely not a C15. Tandem trucks like that usually get pretty small motor, biggest would probably be a C12 but probably a C10. You can here it's not a 3406 that was a medium duty motor and doesn't sound like the heavy duty engines
@@lewiemcneely9143 those are triaxles which can do sometimes get bigger motors I work for an asphalt company and we have a couple C15 triaxles and we just bought a 10Liter Pacar it does the job barely. Tandems generally get smaller motors.
@@veteranheavyequipmechanic4990 These probably used to be tractors. Everything from 300 Cats to no telling what in quints. A bunch of new KW's with Paccars and Allisons. Not for me.
awesome video... just curious..have you ever processed your firewood out on the landing as you cut logs & chip wood??..sry if out of place to ask!!...... also Happy Fathers day to you & your crew!!
@@vttrucker I should have waited till the end I figured it out it was a work in progress when you mentioned using the dash out of the other truck in the back yard of the shop
@Carter Bohrer (Student) I know the truck has 6 wheels, 4 more are missing. The extra 4 wheels need to be put on before the truck can be loaded and used.
I run a chipper like that one in the 80s . That nice truck and Happy Father's day.
Looks like truck has plenty of potential! Happy Father's Day!

Those are not split rims on that truck. Just dayton wheels. Still a factory option.
Midnight Chevy oh ok look like the old split rim
Nice firewood truck!
MIKE IS SPENDING SOME OF THAT MOLDY/OLD SCHOOL MONEY...LOL
Nice truck happy father's day

Super singles and sketchy front wheels. Whoooeee!

My dad had a chipper like that back in the early 80’s.
Does the curved front bumper help with mileage? LoL. Just kidding 😁. The truck looks great. Thanks for the video Mr John.
Kenworth is a sexy looking truck.
Hope that one has a 3406 or a C-15. You'll have to put a bridgemaster on it for wheelie bars. Prayers, BLESSINGS and HUg Goomers!

@@veteranheavyequipmechanic4990 You come here and I'll show you a pile of asphalt haulers running 3406's and C-15's. And bigger.

@@veteranheavyequipmechanic4990 And I started pulling a lowboy hauling a D7-E around with a 5-ton in 1971 and a 5-ton water truck in 1970.

If i still lived in Michigan I'd have you bring me a load.
As usual i don't understand why you didn't just drive it home?
How often do you deliver at full capacity?
It was made for that low boy brother.
SUPER SINGLES ON REAR I SEE.

Just need to paint it blue to match the rest of your fleet!
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
That would be my daily driver not like the plastic junk they make today
What's up with the different axle on the front?
The dri e axles have likely been swapped out in the past whether they were damaged or swapped out for heavier axles.
Singles on the rears????????????
Just to move it

Isn't that kind of truck called a 10 (ten) wheeler?
@Carter Bohrer (Student) I know the truck has 6 wheels, 4 more are missing. The extra 4 wheels need to be put on before the truck can be loaded and used.
Usually they're just called a tandem dump but calling it a 10 wheeler would be accurate
Are you allowed to run recaps on the front
No
Definitely not! You're not even allowed to repair a steer tire
Veteran Lowboy Driver what could u not repair it then just stick it on the rear no?
@@gregshearer423 you could I suppose but a straight tread tire wouldn't get you far
Veteran Lowboy Driver aye true
The front wheels look like some junk a previous owner just slapped on the truck.
These tires are just for moving it around. It will get all new rims and tires before it hauls wood
Those are Dayton wheels still available on new trucks today
why the hell does he have to carry while at work? Where did yall go to pick that thing up??
Because he can carry because this is Merica! Lol
Why not????
That Chipper Guy I do 👍🏻
I do and I drive a truck.
