Fil-Thank you for the video. In the 80's, when I was in college I was in a RUSH tribute band. We used a quintet of Led Zeppelin songs to open with to get my voice tuned because Geddy sang so high. The day of a gig I would try not to talk to people to save my voice and the day after my voice was scratchy.
I loved seeing the 2012 honors to Led Zeppelin. It was such a magical evening. The trio looked like they enjoyed the tribute to Zep. A quote from the TV show Blossom was so right that "from 1973 to 1991 every band wanted to be Led Zeppelin."

The similarities between this and then? He had the Montreal audience in his palm. Then during the set he announced "I'm going out". That's right! He walked through the crowd on the floor and got up on the Sound Engineer's platform. The most I had ever seen happen prior to that was a pick flicked out to the audience.

President Obama certainly liked it. This is Lenny Kravitz, and he once did a political song. Well, the guy is Great, so I'm going to reply to myself if you don't want to hear the political angle...

Mr. Kravitz did a song called 'Mr. Cab Driver" about how he had trouble flagging down a taxicab. I was driving a cab when I heard it, so I saw the other side of that. We got a lot of trips to the Black community, and a majority of the trips were students trying to buy cocaine. There was a lot of graffiti in some foreign language, so sometimes I asked unruly customers, "Could you tell me which of these messages means, "Buy cocaine here"? When they didn't know, I would tell them that I couldn't help them.
The Black community, especially the weekend block parties, learned that the approach of a cab often meant some glassy-eyed person emerging. As a result, they were pretty rude to us. In reaction, it was often pretty hard to get a cab in these neighborhoods. A lot of us were scared to go there.
Six of my colleagues were murdered during my stint doing that, and four of the murderers were Black, one was Hispanic, and one was unsolved. They arrested the wrong guy in the Hispanic case and he was aquited by the jury because THE FINGERPRINTS DIDN'T MATCH! That went all the way to trial. Years later, one of the first cases solved by the FBI"s then-new National Fingerprint Identification System came about when the killer robbed a bank in California.
Yes, I can see Mr. Kravitz viewpoint, but there's a big emotional component to that. According to the United States Department of Labor for one year, cab drivers are at slightly greater risk of on-the-job homicide than police officers or firemen, but the most dangerous job in the country, with 187 man-years and 4 homicides, was President of the United States.

Phil gets arrested, sentenced, and goes to prison. While sitting in the prison yard an older inmate comes up to Phil and says ... 'relax kid prison life isn't so bad'. He says 'tell me, do you like basketball?' Phil says yes I do. He says every Monday we have basketball games, Phil says that's great. He says 'do you like football? Yes says Phil. He says every Tuesday we have games in the yard and Phil gives the thumbs up. He says 'do you like baseball? Phil smiles and nods yes. The inmate says we have games every Wednesday at the field outside. Finally, he says 'let me ask you one last question 'are you a homosexual? Phil says loudly NO. The old inmate shakes his head and says 'ohh, your not going to like Thursdays!"
