I wouldn't at all go by how this guy is using this. All you have to do is Google the model number with instruction or user manual after it. This guy clearly didn't read the instructions at all.
The "heater" is not only to help it dry faster, it is to do a better deep cleaning with hotter water/solution. Also you should not use this like a regular vacuum by racing it up and back. The forward (pushing away from you) stroke is to put down the water/solution, pulling back picks it up from the rug. Go SLOWLY.
@@TechandDesign So actually, I'm a genius when it comes to this sorta tech, I love repairing machines of this type. so your video popped up in my recommended so I was watching it to see how it performed, In doing so I just let you know that you were going to fast and it needs to be vacuumed first, the shampooer machine will get clogged badly and can even stop functioning correctly if the carpet is not vacuumed well before hand, And sense you posted this and it's popular, it feels like common sense to add that into the video so people don't Tear down there machines quickly, Now the clogging wont happen right away, but it does build up over time. Also the fact your comment was so passive proves to me that you know you were doing it wrong and now that people pointed it out, you are getting defensive cause you are having a hard time with the idea of someone correcting you. It's alright dude, I get corrected all the time. But when I get corrected i own up to it and say sorry, not get defensive and be passive about it. Now I gotta get back to repairing more machines so, if you excuse me I'll go now, hope this was helpful. And sorry if it seemed like we were being passive about it, It's not the case. We just wanna make sure everyone knows how to use these units properly so you don't spend hundreds of dollars repairing them every 2 months.
I'm THANKING GOD for you right now! my 100lb, Golden Ret Grandpuppy broke out of his crate overnight, had diarrhea on my brand new carpetting in my living room. I had FOUND this Bissell Heat 2X pet by a dumpster, looking in pretty good condition, but had no idea how to use it! OMGosh I am so thankful I looked up this model, and found your video!! I'm praying really hard right now! THANKS again!!
You should always use the rinse feature. Otherwise you are leaving detergents in your carpet fibers. The chemical action of detergents is designed to attract dirt. So basically your carpets will get dirty again FASTER after cleaning if you don’t rinse cleaning agents out thoroughly. It’s literally the same reason that clothing washers have a rinse cycle. If you skip the rinse you are just making more work for yourself. Edit: also you’ve probably realized this since 8 years ago but the reason you got dirt clumps is because you didn’t vacuum properly (with a normal vacuum) before using the Bissell. You should always vacuum thoroughly before using a water-based carpet cleaning machine. The Bissells vacuum motor is not intended to have the power to suck up wet clumps of congealed dust and dirt, it’s only intended to suck back up the bulk of the water and soap that it dispenses.
I just bought one from a friend had no idea how to use it. I want to thank you for this video you explained everything I need to know, you saved my ass.
Great video! We used this on our furniture to clean up behind our dogs, ended up posting a video to show how dirty the water was. Really impressed with this unit so far.
Hot water does help drive faster but also every 10° doubles you’re cleaning power. There is acronym called tact which means temperature agitation chemical time, this is what you use when doing carpet and a pole street cleaning
I just found a ProHeat in the back of a closet and used it to clean up two spots that I thought were stains. The only reason I knew what to do was this video. Thanks a bunch!
This is a great video! I can’t thank you enough for your time in making it. I too was given mine and my carpet after puppy looks amazing.. partly thanks to you!
Very impressed with this presentation. Had to double check my self to make sure I was using correctly and this video made that possible..thank you your time to help us women out ...
Also the small clear cleaner solution tank, if you get it under some good light (outside lite is best) you will see, it does have an imprinted water level and above it a well-defined formula level ..if you take a black felt pen and very carefully and gently rub the tip of the pen on the letters, they will be highlighted and super easy to see and read..cheers ...
You should always do a good slow thorough vacuuming before using the bissell, then you won't have those clumps of fuzzy dirt to pick up by hand. Also when you pull the cleaner back you should go very slowly because that is when the water gets sucked up, or else you may get "wicking" which means stains will keep coming to the surface of the carpet from below because it is over saturated with water. Goal is to suction as much water up as possible.
thank you so much for this video and help me out a lot I didn't have the directions when I bought my carpet cleaner that's amazing thank you for everything you've done
Good tutorial and enough information so I could start without even reading the manual. The extra gray fluff and dirt is usually found with a newer carpet. Just vacuum well. Thanks again.
I wanted to give you a Big thank you for this video. My problem was the filter and I didn't even know it had one. Cleaned it and no other problem. I'm a happy camper now and my wife is too. Once again thank you very much. FIGHT ON!!!
This is what I was thinking. I always over wet when cleaning, but none of these ppl seem to rinse after cleaning. Wondering why? I always rinse until water is clean.
Thanks for the tutorial. Person renting a room in my moms house moved out, the carpet is nasty but my mom had one of these in the garage. Trying this tomorrow.
Omg thank goodness thank you so much. I bought a old one from goodwill and there were no instructions for this model on the website anymore thank you so much
This is a great video you did awesome sir it can't get any simpler if and how you explained it. Thank you so very much for taking the time to do this for us. God's BLESSINGS to you! John
God Jesus. Have power that's unbelievable I had God come to me when I really take these things in me he came took them right out of me I was great ful to God
One thing we do with ours is clean a square or section then later that evening or before going over the same area again we vacuum. We have a dog with incontinence so we use it A LOT haha
If it stops sucking after several years because the tank rides high in the back: On the rear center of the tank bottom there is a nub. The knob fits in a rectangular hole in the base, make sure there's no debris in it. Grind the nub down (approx 1/2 in.). I dragged it across concrete, you can use real tools.
What do u ca the part that holds the water because I have to buy that part some how a old friend of mines have it tapped up like hole in it or something
I just bought one of these and for some reason it's clacking the brush in the bottom one side is not going as fast as the other one one side is looser than the other one would you be able to help me or has this happened to you should I say thank you in advance
Do you know what that part is called that is clear and shaped like a cube that is sticking out near the lock on the tank? It looks to connect the tank part to the gasket on the machine?
Is your model a 9200? i'm hoping so because i need to see which tube goes to which side of the mixer. the plumbing diagram in the manual doesn't define which side.
I know this was made about 6 years ago but I have the same cleaner and I got it used. I cleaned all the parts, got it all put back together and when I turn it on, it doesn’t put solution out or suck it up. What am I doing wrong! It looks like it was taken care of by the previous owners.
while looking at a friends bissell cleaner, we noticed a long thin round rubber band which was broken when we removed the water tank. Could this be a gasket and if so where does it go.
This actually isn’t a great video, he is pushing and pulling the cleaner WAAY too fast, a carpet cleaner is not a vacuum, you need to go about an inch a second with these machines, not 3 feet…
Thank you for the video. When i tried to take out the water, there was very little and it did not change color. looks like most of the water is on the floor!
I know this video is 9yrz old but im still guna ask in case u still are active.. my rollers dont spin at all so how do i take the plastic off? i almost have it off but im aftaid to break it an i dont see anymore screws so do i just pull harder or i missing a hidden screw?
My sister gave me her old Bissell without instructions. You my dear are a lifesaver! Your tutorial is an older one but still accurate.

Not only that but the floor does not seemed very vacuum by the way that shampooer kept picking up and making black furr ball things.
I agree with all the experts that come to watch a “how to use” video although they are clearly experts at the subject.
